What about UFA Matt Dumba? Physical, kills penalties, blocks shots, solid skater with a big shot. Projection is 3 years at 3 mill per season.
I am also a interested in trading for Alex Kerfoot and signing Michael Amadio. Kerfoot has one year left at 3.5. (also a M-NTC, but does he want to stay in Utah?). He is a playmaking center who I believe is a pretty solid 2 way player. Utah doesn't need picks (10 2nd rd picks in the next 3 seasons). They need players. They have no D under contract for next season. None!. Joki might be a very solid addition there. Samuelsson as well. No idea what a deal would look like, but maybe Joki for Kerfoot straight up? By the way, Kerfoot was one of the leading PK centers last season in TOI.
Amadio is a bit of a late bloomer with a some size at 6'1 204. He's had back to back 27 point seasons and has contributed in the playoffs. I'm not sure LV can afford to keep him with a projected 3 year 3.2 per season deal.
I'd also like to make a run at Blueger for 2-3 year deal. He hits, can create, and wins draws. I think he'd be a perfect fit for an elevated 4th line. I'd give him a 2-3 year deal at 2.75 per season.
JJP Tnt Tuch
Benson Cozens Quinn
Skinner Kerfoot Amadio
Krebs Blueger Greenway
Samuelsson Dahlin
Power Dumba
Byram Clifton
UPL Levi
Thumbs up for signing Amadio. I think a Jokiharju for Kerfoot could be a deal that works for both. Those two with Skinner is an interesting mix. Dumba on the second pair is where I hesitate.

Tampa needs to make trades and they will, but definitely not with a team in same division. As with Tkachuk to Sabres - it's not going to happen. Sorry.

Won't happen though. GMs rarely flip the guy they picked up, it makes them look bad. If he trades a D man it's more likely to be one of JBots.
But I don't think they will trade any of the D they have now. I think that's it.
Probably. There has not been any talk of the defensemen and upgrades what I have read of so you are probably right.

Oh I totally don't disagree with that. I don't think Byram was the type of guy we needed and the 3C hole is a problem for sure.
Agree on that also. I understand moving on from Mitts but I would not have done it at trade deadline and not for a same type defender we already have. I have not changed my mind on trading Byram for a player that get a balanced roster. Or at least takes us a step closer to that.

I think we will end up with Wennberg. In my dreams we trade for Lundell.

A rather conservative approach to redoing the Bot 6
If Seattle want to retool, and Adam Larsson would waive and be interested in signing for two more years at about the same 4m that he gets in Seattle, I think a trade with Jokiharju could work for both.

My question for you and everyone else is how long do I have to wait for Krebs to be more than what he's shown to this point? He's currently an above average JAG. I could probably replace him with a handful of 2 mill players that would give me more. I'll give him this year but if he's the same by the trade deadline, time to move on. There's 3 guys in Rochester that might give us more.
I still find it interesting for Krebs it's patience but for Cozens it's 3rd line. If Cozens is what anyone thinks a 3c is, then how is Krebs considered anywhere close to that?
Adams might give Krebs a last chance since we got a new coach. I think Adams works that way, he is willing to give more chances than other GMs. But it sure is the last for Krebs.

Ekholm is a big solid Dman. It would be nice to have Mule get near that level.
If he stays healthy I absolutely think he will be close to Ekholm. But there is a big But.

Two possible players for our 4th line are Grundström(Kings) and Mäenalanen (former Jets)

Do you see Helenius as a heart and soul player?
I think he is a player that thinks team and teammates first. But I have not heard what his personality is like.
When it comes to Europeans, except from the Swedes, their English speaking is usually not that good. This is something that especially is a problem for us Finns, and despite that we are a shy and silent people, not all, but many. That is things that matters when you draft a kid and hope for them to develop into stars.
Long answer on a simple short question. But drafting and developing is a complex thing imo.

There are no consensus picks after Celebrini but most lists have Helenius around 7-12. His performance in Liiga was really good for a 17 year old. My concern with him at 3 is he turns out more like Kakko than Barkov.
Think he will be somewhere between Barkov and Kakko, closer to Kakko.
And I would like to add that what I think we really need to draft now, with the prospects we already have, is heart and soul players. Unfortunately it is pretty hard to scout that when the players are 17-18 years old. So I vote for the safe pick.

Button has Helenius #3. What a fascinating draft this will be after SJ pick. Celebrini first.
I do not see Helenius as a top 3, maybe top ten. Can be seen as a "safe pick" and thereby get drafted high.
Stian Solberg is interesting, but ranked higher than I think he should be, played well tough against men for Norway.

What is Sabrespace opinion of Amadio? A podcast I listen to liked him, could he be a Sabre?

I'll watch the conference finals, and there have been some good games this year, but the playoffs haven't been as exciting as I thought. When they started I was thinking...I'm going to LOVE this, there were so many good matchups. And there were/are, just I haven't gotten into the playoffs as deeply as I though.
And as far as Vancouver goes, Pettersson was a letdown. I really thought going into this year he was going to take another step and clearly become a top-10 player in the year, but he faded big time down the stretch and, as others have said, didn't help much in the playoffs.
Something happened to him in mid February..an injury? Hit 'the wall'. I'm not sure but...
Pettersson:
-through Feb 15: 28 goals, 44 assists in 55 games (42g, 66a, 108 point pace/82)
-Since Feb 16 (including playoffs): 7 goals, 16 assists in 40 games (14g, 33a, 47 point pace/82)
That is a major, MAJOR drop in production.
He signed his new contract on March 2nd. That might have something to do with it.

Let's talk about an option at 11 that isn't sexy but he's going to be a pain to play against:
Michael Brandsegg-Nygård, 6'1" 198lb, C/W from Norway. He put up 18pts in 41 games in the 2nd tier Swedish pro league this year as an 18yr old. That's .44ppg in the Swedish AHL equivalent which is pretty good.
Do you want a guy taller and bigger than Benson who's forechecking is like Benson? Here. Dude is a high motor, physical, forechecking forward. He'll hit when needed, very good at body positioning, stick work for days. Might be the best defensive forward in the draft. He's near elite in terms of getting the puck back.
That's good but he's not the guy you want leading the rush. Like Eiserman, he's somewhat straight line. He doesn't have multiple levels of deception. He does have nice hands and a good shot. His skating is strong and powerful. He is smart and links plays together well.
The question is do you want a guy that probably is ROR or take more risk for a guy that might have a higher ceiling but a lower floor. Do you want Marco Kasper or Lekkerimaki?
Norwegians are usually hard to compete, it's in their blood.

Chandler Stephenson could be the veteran center they need for their 3rd line, with the ability to move up or play wing when needed. Good at face offs and penalty kill.
I can’t believe VO made almost $5 million. 😳
He is on top of my list too. I think he will ask for a five year contract with NMC. The big question is if we are willing to give him that and 6-7mil/year. If he is even interested in coming here.
-
A. Work on faceoffs. Should mean improvments in both ends of the rink. If they bring in a center they should find one that can take the important faceoffs.
B. Better and faster zone entries.
C. Improve the play in front of/close to the net. Make it more aggressive.

Florida has 19.7 Million in cap space with 14 skaters on the roster for next year.
Their UFAs include Reinhart, Tarasenko, Montour, Lomberg and Lundell is a RFA.
Some on the list are rumored to be willing to give a home team discount namely the two former Sabres.
They have traded a lot of draft capital and prospects for their cup runs and are scheduled to go 4 years without making a first round pick.
Bennett, whose name has appeared in the rumor mill, with one year left on his deal is the most attractive asset they have to recoup assets and make some cap room
I think they want to resign Reinhard and keep Lundell, and a way to make that possible is trading Bennett. On the other hand, Tkachuk and Bennett are buddies and play extremely well together, especially playoff hockey.

This was an interesting question. After some more thinking I have a couple of suggestions: Nicolas Roy from Vegas. They are tight against the cap and Roy has signed for three more years att 3milj.
Jesperi Kotkaniemi is the other. Signed long-term at a reasonable price. Can play the game with some grit. Has been a dissapointment in Canes and is a risk but we could definitely get him for #11.

The only one I can up with myself (possibly) is Scott Laughton. The Flyers are rebuild/compete, can't quite figure out which or trying to do both and his name was mentioned as available last year. 2way 3C. They might not want to make that deal any more.
Yes, Laughton might be the best we could get. I think the first is worth much more than one year of Dowd or Bjugstad. If we would trade the 1st alone for one player I think a Rfa like Kakko could be possible, but he is not a center. But most likely it has to be as part of a bigger package.

Sometimes. But I also think that Tuch waxes and wains with his checking. The takeaway part would be the main concern I have with Eiserman as I think that is a weak spot. In the offensive zone though, you see him carry in or through traffic. He isn't a perimeter type of guy, he goes inside to get shots off... he also will sometimes toss pucks on net from the outside cuz I think he doesn't always pick the best play. He's an incomplete player more so than some others which is hard to evaluate because he's got the tools but pulling them out of his toolbox is a bit hit and miss (except his shot, that's great). I gotta watch more on him and read more on him. I feel like I don't have a good feel for him.
So after 3 years in Rochester he could be a upgraded version on Skinner?

I still have one. Got it after I ditched cable. You get a lot of channels for free.
I don’t have a motor, but I used this to aim it.
My mother in law still uses antenna. They are piece by piece shutting down the cabel net and changing to fiber cabel instead. But the antenna is still working and as you said it is free.

In pre-cable days, you would have a TV antenna on your roof. It would have a little motor that would rotate the shaft it was mounted on so you could "aim" it to give you the best TV signal. This was the controller for the antenna on your roof, and it would sit on your television set.
I put aim in quotes because the aiming was not very precise. You'd find what works best for a particular station and as other have alluded to, mark that on the controller so when you put Channel 4 on, you'd rotate the antenna to the spot that usually works best for Channel 4. But depending on the weather that might not even give you the best reception for that channel.
Oh, that is interesting. Around here, on the countryside, some people still have the antenna, we had one also, so the problem with (not) watching a game in a not suitable weather is familiar. But, I have not heard of or seen one ever before. Maybe they did not make it to Scandinavia? What is the name of those?
Sabres Defense - Current Pairing Ideas and What Moves Should Adams Make to Enhance the Group

The Sabres pairings depend totally on Samuelsson, him playing 70-75 games at his best together with Dahlin and Power and Byram on the second gives an ok defense. I would like to have different balanced second pair but it works. The question is how much back up we need in case Samuelsson isn't healthy?? Or do we see him as a third pair guy until he has proof he is back in shape?
