Unless another dman is hurt in addition to Mule, I’d be shocked if DG favorite(Bryson) is benched in favor of Johnson.

One problem (several actually, but one will suffice for now) that was very foreseeable was bringing Okposo back. Completely understand why they did it - he's been a very good soldier, is a leader on the team, and he & management both wanted very much for him to be a part of the team that finally makes it back to the playoffs after so many years in the desert, and he was only about 16 games shy of 1k NHL games.
But he had clearly lost a step by the end of last season and there was no reason to believe he'd be good for more than about 20 games this year before he was completely spent. Visions of Pominville's last season were clear all over this re-signing.
Getting absolutely nothing out of the 4th line (Girgenson's 2 goals not withstanding) this year is not helping them move towards the goal of playoffs. Don't know how they fix this short of Kyle suffering (wink wink) an injury that puts him on IR for about 5 months, gives them opportunity to trade for what they should've brought in or at a minimum keeps Jost or Rousek in the lineup in his spot, and lets him come back to triumphantly play 8 minutes in their 1st playoff game before reinjuring (wink wink) himself again.
Would really like to see if having 2 viable wingers rather than just 1 would bring Krebs game at least back to what it was last year. Not sure how many games he had prior to last year; don't believe this is officially his 2nd season, but it is his 2nd as a full time regular; and his sophomore slump is worse than Power's is.
I was against bringing back both Girgs and KO from the minute the season ended. Nothing I have seen in the first 11 games has changed my mind.
Waste of 5 mil in cap space.

Kulich, Rosen, Benson, Savoie, Johnson, Novikov, Biro, Murray, Weissbach, etc…
None of these guys are the answer to the Sabres problems currently.
Meanwhile, KA sits in his office staring at the pics of all his untouchable prospects and draft picks.

What is a real move? Not a call up from Rochester. Not bringing up the next rookie for a tryout.
I agree. You can make a big trade to bring in a vet or two without “blowing it up”. The farm will still be stocked.

Greenway needs to go back to the bottom 6. Thompson needs skilled linemates, not a slow guy with hands of stone.

Best decade was the very first one. No doubt. It took 3 years to get “good “. We are working on 12 or 13 now, just to get mediocre and make the playoffs.
It’s sickening. I am sick of it.
The 70’s, especially the 1st half, were great to be a Sabres fan. Such a distant memory. 😞

As a fan since they spun the wheel for Gilbert and a STH for decades, if anyone feels the need to tell me what a disloyal fan I am, they can just go screw themselves.
Disloyal? Anyone who has maintained their ST during this shitshow known as the Pegula era, should be applauded and recognized. Do with your tickets as you wish.

I’m confused then. ESPN boxscore reports 16,612. Isn’t that supposed to be paid attendance?
-
No worries. KO gets to play his 1000th NHL game in the blue & gold. Just as good as making the playoffs.

I know he was a good soldier waiting all those years for RJ to retire, but DD is not good. On the breakaway to make it 3-0, his call was…
”Breakaway, 1 on 1, UPL doesn’t make the save on that one”.
Really Dan? I’m sorry, you are terrible.

Twice Rob Ray said “The Flyers have nothing to lose”. WTF does that even mean you idiot? Ray & Dumbleavy may be the worse duo in the league.

Box office sales and the prices they charge, when you have 6000-7000 per game to sell, will aways be tough.
Get ST sales back up in the 15000 - 16000 range, improve the team, and the remaining 3000-4000 tix for box office sales will sell briskly.

I have opened this thread multiple times. Each time I ask myself, why?(not why did I open it, why does one need a water cooled computer…WTF that is)

I didn’t sleep. Took my wife to the hospital last night, heart trouble. She is being tested right now and I am waiting …
I must be escaping the stress. Sleep can wait.

Still faced 40 shots. That crap has to stop.
In the 1st half of the 1st period, SOG were 6-4 Sabres.
After that…
36-9 Flyers. 😱

you guys and your gif/meme obsessions. I guess it's a generational thing but I find their constant overuse tiresome.
I feel the same which is why I was overjoyed when it was broken for a while. 😂

Gerry Meehan. The O.G.
For the young guns here(not you PTR), Meehan’s most famous moment as a Sabre…last game of the 71-72 season, playing the Flyers. The Flyers need a win or a tie to get in the playoffs. Game tied 2-2, clock ticking, Meehan fires a shot from outside the blueline that beats Doug Favell with 4 seconds to go sending the Flyers to the golf course.

Let’s see if they can put together back to back wins! 🤞🏻
