TB scores with 5 seconds remaining to tie Boston and guarantee a point. That’s how good teams do it. They don’t stand for regulation losses, play hard to the end and get the point., then Hagel scores in OT to grab the two points.

Have I said how much I hate Botts for not offering Hagel a contract? 😡

If the AHL played a typical 82 game season, the Amerks would be on pace to give up 360+ goals. That would’ve been bad even in the 80s.

That is really really really bad.  If Appert is ignoring the organization’s request for better team D, than he should be fired.   If KA and DG aren’t delivering and reaffirming the message, then it is just another nail in both of their coffins.

You not have GPS in yours?  Ours tells us we're down to X miles left and asks if we want it to chart a course to the nearest gas station.

Or, maybe yours just doesn't like you and wants you to be stranded in bad places with bad people and things all around. 🤪

(And it's somewhere in the under 30 miles left range that it pops that message up on the dash.)

No GPS, and no warning.  Maybe something is not working.  I will have to ask next time I am at the dealer for warranty service.

  4. Since it would be inappropriate to open this thread on Thanksgiving, this week we will have Complaint Monday.

My Hyundai beeps at me for swerving out of my lane, car in front of me is moving, I am getting to close to the car in front of me, it might be icy, etc….

but my gas gauge can be close to “E”, and nothing.

  5. Been here in WNY my entire life.  Have loved the Sabres and Bills for over 50 years.  Always have, always will.

    Just once.  😞

[edited]Liked the baseball Cardinals growing up, but now kind of cheer for the underdog in MLB.

Basketball…first lost interest in the NBA 10-15 years ago, then the same with NCAA BB…I grew tired of the one and done crap with these guys who have no interest in school, but can’t go right from HS to the NBA.

Would say a complete lack of a competent PP is the team's biggest issue.

The team's 2nd biggest issue is the team D is still way too accomodating to cross-ice and back door passes that leave the goalies hung out to dry.

The team's 3rd biggest issue is being without an entire line's worth of top 6 F's combined with trying to play a more responsible defensive game is leaving them scoring too few goals on too many occassions.

The team's 4th biggest issue is that without both of the really long F's Thompson &/or Tuch disrupting passing lanes on the PK that the PK has been giving up a goal every game for the last 4 or 5.  When the PP is clicking at about 10%, the PP needs to be at 90% (IF the calls are going both ways, and so far this year, they aren't; young teams don't get calls and teams the refs still perceive as bad don't get calls either; they have to simply accept there's not much they can do to change either situation until they actually get some more win streaks together; chicken and egg issue) to keep from needing to dominate the scoring at 5v5 which they aren't doing right now.

MAYBE with Thompson out of the lineup the PP will be forced to become creative and thus useful.  Wouldn't put money on it, but we can hope.

The team D IS actually better than last season.  But the breakdowns are still major too often.  Expecting that will improve as the season goes on.

Don't know the answer to the 3rd issue short of getting healthy & getting more than one line clicking on any given night.

The 4th is going to be an issue until they get to a point that they trust the goalies to make the big save should they adjust to a more aggressive PK &/or both Thompson and Tuch are back and playing healthy.

But even with the issues, this team is still in the mix.  Get closer to last year's road team and they can muddle through while figuring out the home ice issues.

So you don’t think goaltending is among the teams biggest problems?  If so, we will agree to disagree.

The team is debatably zero deep in NHL goaltenders.  IMHO, that is on the GM.

Goaltending is by far the biggest problem today followed closely by team defense(regardless of the root problem being players or coaches).

This team is going to need a serious injection of some scoring. Biron had a great idea about calling the Rochester scoring line up as a whole and let them play together as they already have some chemistry. Waiting until tomorrow is freaking stupid. This team needs to start being proactive instead of reactive. It is sounding like Tuch is not close and neither is Bensen. We cannot keep the status quo or we are going to dig a deep hole.

Even if there was room on the roster, this would be more of a gimmick than helpful.

The answer to the Sabres immediate problems is not in Rochester.

I can’t imagine pulling for another team if the Sabres left Buffalo.  Same for the Bills.

If the Sabres left Buffalo, I would lose interest in the NHL. Probably watch some of the playoffs and that is it.

Maybe support an AHL team if one ends up in Buffalo.

Trades have to happen now and it's like the GM can't part ways with these precious little forwards that fill the cupboards here.

I agree.  They need vet help NOW.  In addition, there won’t be spots for all of his beloved prospects, so make the deal, and help the team this season. Not some season years in the future.

KA has to think bigger than Stillman, Jost, Clague, EJ & Clifton.  BIGGER!

  11. How did KA believe that Levi was ready to handle at least 40-50 games, and then to make it worse, Plan B was UPL & Comrie?

He should be fired for this alone, but now he will compound the problem, by refusing to give him time in the AHL.

  12. They need a real NHL coach, and a real NHL GM.

DG can go back to the US program coaching 16-18 year olds, and KA can go back to running the HarborCenter Kiddie Academy.

    Friggin’ joke.

We're the youngest team in the league. It's going to take time, at least a few years.

As long as KA doesn't make some really stupid moves, we will develop into a contender in time. We have the pieces.

Oh my. Have you considered a career in comedy?

I would think it's fair. DG goes after this season and KA would be next.
I can't imagine they aren't a playoff team next year with the talent they have and a new coach

Are you seriously talking about 24-25?  If they miss the playoffs this year(no excuses), I want DG & KA fired.  I take that back…I want that buffoon Pegula to sell the team.
