In light of Biro’s recall (2g 4a in 5 AHL games), I thought a quick look at who has hit the ground running this season was in order.

    AHL

    Kulich - 6-3 9 pts in 7 games

    Rosen - 4-5 9 pts in 7 games

    Rousek - 2-4 6 in 7 games

    Kisakov - 3-2 5 in 5 games

    Novikov - 0-5 5 in 6 games

    Savoie - 1-2 3 in 3 games

    Others

    Östlund - 4-2 6 in 13 SHL games

    Wahlberg - 2-4 6 in 13 SHL games

    Poltapov - 4-3 7 in 17 KHL games

    Sardarian - 3-2 5 in 5 NCAA games

    Lindgren - 2-9 11 in 11 WHL games

    Komarov - 2-8 10 in 11 Q games

    Thx.  👍🏻

Grumblegrumblegrumble. So Bergeron, Krejci, Hall, and Orlov were just holding the Bruins back.

Yep. The demise of the Bruins looks like it is on hold for now. Everyone laughing about the Bruins center spine in the offseason…who is laughing now?

Then what though; I don't want to trade everything for a single shot at the playoffs

In a league where half the teams make the playoffs every year, you shouldn’t have to “trade everything” to make the playoffs.  You just need a competent GM focused more on winning than hoarding prospects and picks.

OK… In those extremely extremely extremely extremely rare circumstances where they are down 5-0 with five minutes to go… You are right, not everybody stands.

My personal experience(was STH from early 2000’s to just before Covid)…

there are people everywhere in the arena who only get out of their seat to get something to eat/drink or go to the bathroom.   The exceptions…late game or OT GWG.

Chet and Muffy are everywhere.  😂

I’ve been a season ticket holder for 19 years… and when the Sabres score… Everybody around me (who can) stands and applauds and cheers. And I mean everybody. And that’s every game, every goal ,every year that I’ve been going to Sabres games.

So the Sabres are down 5-0 with 5 minutes to go, they score, and everyone around you is up and cheering the goal?

Call me skeptical.   More likely scenario, most are already in their cars and halfway home at that point.

They are role players and leaders in their own right. Not all leaders fill the exact same role.

Okposo is the team Dad, the players look to him for support

Girgensons is the longest tenured player and the hard working 4th liner. Sort of like the cool uncle.

Johnson is that older gentleman in your office who has oodles of experience and has truly achieved what you dream of already. He's your Dad's friend but isn't going to coddle you like he might.

    Maybe, maybe not.

Yes it does.  I spelled it out for you.  Focus on the bold.

He has a Stanley Cup Ring.  No one else does.

He went through the rebuild in Colorado, he went from last place to a Stanley Cup win.   He is more than qualified to speak up and was probably expected to.   The newcomer wants to do it again, in Buffalo this time.  He still has fire in him.

Then what $5mil role do KO & Girgs play other than using cap space?

Doesn’t explain why it can’t be other vets on the team.
