Power play is a mess.

Same, but not mutually exclusive. The days of our boxscore showing 6 hits are hopefully over. Teams haven't been sore after playing us for years, that needs to change.

Peca is our next HC. And that's not me calling for Meatballs' head, I like Granato. But everyone knows NHL coaches are hired to be fired. Peca is the chosen one, though IMO.

The physicality stood out to me. Yards different from the past few years. Didn't look like a "finesse" team at all. I'm hoping that's scheme and not a one-off bump against a hated rival. If this team can throw 18-20 hits a game versus the 8-10 we've grown use to, it'll pay dividends.

13 years of darkness tends to jade a fanbase. So, yes, pretty normal. Some of it is tongue-in-cheek, though.

Big thing is it's silly to take too much from the first game of the season. I'd like a better showing, but I'm still bullish on this team.

They're terrible at their job. The NHL is the worst officiated league in the world and it's not particularly close. I get that the game is fast and they're not gonna see everything, but that was blatant. And the call on Benson earlier was a sick joke.

Not a BAD period. Really like the checking. One of the goals was just a deflection nobody could've stopped on a gifted penalty. Buckle down, come out and win the next two periods.
