I don't necessarily think so. Their core is aging. They don't have the depth they've had in the past. I won't be at all surprised if they're out in round 2. But, the experience/confidence matched up against a self-fulfilling prophecy like the Leafs will make them look like world beaters. * - for the record, I also wouldn't be surprised to see them back in the Cup Finals, either. Being that battle tested is an advantage.

Statistically, the Leafs are playing pretty evenly or even ahead. This is where boxscores are wildly deceptive. The human eye sees a team that is wound up so tight, nobody is probably gonna ***** for a month.

Oh yeah, they lose, Dubas and Keefe are toast. But it goes deeper than them, the players are F-R-A-G-I-L-E. They need to break up their core. That's where it starts. Trade Nylander. Nobody wants Pajama Boy's contract, so they're stuck with him. I don't see them doing it,but I'd try to move Matthews, too and get something before he walks in FA. Maybe keep Marner. It doesn't matter who they stack around them, those 4 guys together are playoff flu shits.

It's 100% mental with them. If they lose in the first round again, they need to move in another direction. What that means exactly, I'm not sure, but I think it means breaking up some of that "core four."

Tampa looks like a team comfortable with the pressure and expecting to win. Toronto looks like a nervous, timid team terrified of losing...again.
