Even if the front office prefers to keep Kulich in the AHL, I just think that there are better options for the first line. I would rather re-assemble the first line with Tage in between Tuch and Skinner, and move Mitts onto the second line as either a center or winger with JJ and Cozens. It just seems to me that with Okposo on the first line you are suppressing the offense and I'm not sure that he could keep up with his line-mates.

Injuries are part of the game. However, the Quinn injury seems to have reverberated throughout all the lines.

Seth Appert was on Sabres Live last Friday and it sounded like Rousek was the most “deserving” because he’s “earning it” right now.  Maybe not exactly quoted, but that was the message. He left room for Kulich saying while he’s slumping, he’s also working hard.

Really?  I mean I get that he is our only prospect in the AHL now that Ryan Johnson is up, but man this seems rushed.

I suspect we get more Bryson - or maybe Clague/Stillman.

Stillman isn’t a realistic option.  He’s been pretty bad in Rochester.

  3. The Rangers are shopping Kakko. He’s near elite defensively and a bottom six role with potential middle six upside. A change of scenery may do him well and we don’t have any excellent defensive forwards.

Upcoming RFA and 2.1MM. Rangers could use the cap space for their playoff run (Filip Chytil done for the year and they need cap to find a top six trade partner).

I would take Kakko as a low cost experiment.

Trading Reino tells me we don't want to let Mitts go.

My initial reaction to that is the Reino trade worked.
If the Sabres were going to roll with Jack, they would have held onto Reino.  But that wasn’t going to happen. Reino would have been miserable here after the Eichel reset.

The return of Kulich & Levi appears to be a nice deal for us. I think Levi is going to be a stud one day.

The Mitts deal just cannot be for futures.   Mitts and a future for a top 4D.

    I always hated Nikita Kucherov.

After watching him tonight in the skills competition, I don't anymore. He's ***** awesome.

I wish he was a Sabre.

    Loved it!
His commitment to not committing is as fascinating as it is entertaining.

The fact that he's the league leading scorer just adds to the whole thing.

Of coarse you do. that's the way people talk. I'm not really sure what they are up to in Rochester, never have.

Come on over, I’ll host. The water has fluoride and the garbage comes on plates. The Amerks have won five playoff series in the last two years and it finally doesn’t smell like Kodak chemicals any longer.

Yes, a potential paywall. But an interesting question nonetheless. What should the Sabres do at the deadline?

What got me thinking is what the Sabres could buy with their stable of prospects for teams who might be rebuilding. Or players that might need a change of scenery. From the article:

”The Sabres don’t necessarily need to be within striking distance of the playoffs for Adams to add to the roster. The trade he made for Jordan Greenway at the deadline last season is a good example of the type of deal he could make again. Greenway had term and didn’t cost the Sabres any of their top prospects.” Now let your imagination run wild if top prospects or draft capital were in play.

Should Buffalo sell the likes of EJ, VO, Zemgus, and Captain KO and punt the season? I cannot imagine there’s much to gain in capital short of “doing right by the player.” Not my cup of tea.

Or should they take players with value (Mitts for example), package them with prospects and find hockey trades to balance out the roster in other areas (top four D)? Term remaining would be a must.

Or nothing because they're the youngest team in hockey and the best could be yet to come? It can be fairly stated the ceiling is high on guys like Peterka & Quinn. Tage, Cozens, Dahlin, and Power could easily have better years next year and each are cost controlled for a long time.

Let’s keep the comments of Meatballs and KA job performance out of this thread. What’s the best step assuming they're both here next year?

But on the broadcast they said he DID put weight on it once he got to the tunnel.

If a lateral ligament in the knee was injured, he may not have wanted the skate on the ice because any twisting of the knee would've been excruciating but straight ahead movement would've been fine.  It also could be the ankle.  (Your guesses are also valid at this time, too.)

I just watched the replay and before Quinn got up, he definitely looked at the heel of his left leg. I don’t know if it was his L or R Achilles that he was recovering from, but him doing that made me think he re-injured himself in the same spot.

  9. Joe Brady fixed the run game and it was a huge plus. He also put Josh’s legs back in the playbook and it worked.

The thing the Bills need to remember though is that their “fastball” is the passing game. Josh will need more help.  Kincaid’s sophomore year will be trending up and Shakir catches everything. Diggs drop off the second half is concerning (hello Kincaid uptrend in production) but I don’t think he’s washed.

Re-establish the fastball (Harty & Sheffield gave them nothing
take new shots at it).  Inevitably, they’ll be fine because Josh is an alien.  They just need to hit on a UFA WR2 or early draft WR pick.

  10. Lindy Ruff will be going to the hall of fame as a head coach.  He’s fourth all time in wins coached and will probably end up second before he’s all done.

If the hall of famer will have me, I’ll certainly have him.

Would drivers please pretty please stop giving up the right of way and waving me to proceed? I don't get it. I hate to stare them down and most of the time tick them off, but I will not allow anothet driver to drive my car for me.

I give them an emphatic thumbs down and they get the idea
