  1. When comparing Peca's coaching history to Rod Brind'Amour's, It took Rod 7 years in the Hurricanes organization before he became head coach.  Starting in 2012, Michael has spent 2 years with Jr. Sabers and was coach of the year, head coach of the Major Jr. Sabers, and GM of hockey ops for Jr. Sabres.  Worked as Capitals player development coach and Amerks assistant coach.  As we all know, in 2023, he is now with the Rangers as a bench coach.

Based on Rod the Bod's history and Peca's I believe he is ready to make that jump to HC in the NHL.

So the question is, what if the losing keeps continuing for another 4-5 games? Then what? I know it’s early but you don’t want to dig a big hole early in the season.

Not sure who said it on NHL Network Sirius Radio, but they mentioned maybe it's time for a more "seasoned" coach for the Sabres.  DG is a good development guy but it's time for this team to win.

The Bills have progressions for each play based on the coverages and leverages Allen sees. Allen is allowed to break these rules when he has a 1v1 matchup he likes in man. He really likes Diggs 1v1 versus anyone, so Diggs gets a lot of targets. He also trusts Diggs more than anyone, and you see why when Gabe fumbles and Knox drops

Diggs also had a big drop in the first half that stalled a drive

Diggs is getting the ball so much because he is the only receiver who consistently gets open. The Bills offense isn't good because Knox is average, Gabe Davis should be a 3wr, and the Bills truly do not have a legit #2 wr anyone needs to consistently worry about. What you wrote here is total bullcrap and is typical Buffalo "blame the good players" mentality.

During the game last night, when 17 was pitching the ball to "if you don't I will throw a sh _t fit" there were other Receivers open.  The QB read should not be A) throw it to the one who complains the most or B) the one with the larger contract.  Teams pick up on that.  Maybe why the offense looked so bad the last two games.

  5. Diggs has made the offense about Diggs.  Diggs first, screw what the defense is giving me.  Always looking for Diggs, because if you don't, I am going to spot off like a spoiled rich kid, point fingers, smash tablets, and ridicule the whole organization on how they don't like to win.  Remember what happened to Baker when a big-name receiver pointed out to the world, and his dad, that I was open and he didn't throw me the ball!  Along came DeShaun.  This whole drama thing has tainted the offense.   I bet Diggs wasn't happy used as a decoy for Harty's touchdown.

  6. Lost on the road against a very good defense, punt return TD, Josh threw three picks, Josh lost a fumble, Zach Wilson completed a (won't do it again ever in his career) almost sacked falling to the ground throw on TD Drive, great catch by G Wilson for TD, defense allowed 1 TD, and the Bills almost pulled it off.  I wonder how many times that will happen this year........

The funniest thing is that we are all willing to spot the Sabres the gamble that Levi is great right out of the gate. I believe. Everybody seems to think he’s the next League great. The amount of expectation on the kid is astounding though, it just is. But even granting him that, it’s also pretty true that your backup still plays a lot, REGARDLESS, like it’s still an important position to address when in-house options would suggest it’s a FURTHER risk on top of Levi to expect UPL or Comrie to amount to being a good backup.

The fact an upgrade there would provide insurance to Levi being unproven is the icing on the cake and seems to make it an obvious area for supplement - with the cap space we have I just don’t understand the extra risk ie willingly, seemingly making their own degree of difficulty harder.

but in the end I agree with dudacek, not just his post above but his point that it doesn’t matter if Adams HATES the idea of setting a hard line expectation, it doesn’t even matter what he hates, he could hate winning itself but if the trajectory of improving continues you literally can’t argue it

    The trajectory we’ve seen.

You could make a limp one that we could have improved more but like, given whet we’ve seen for over a decade... I mean really?

No different than spending millions on a proven goalie that falls apart in Buffalo.  Like it never happened before.  I'd take my chances with the kids.

The only issue with the Jets is their coach makes horrid decisions in the moment and is 11-23. Now Rodgers will make him great. Got it..

.Dear God, get this season going ...the projections being discussed prove there's a widespread drug problem..

Yes, and Aaron is behind the drug problem....  He shared his medications with the press and the white powder in the Whitehouse.

  9. I am looking forward to the final "changing of the guard."  It needs to happen.  Too many years of suffering - lack of playoff hope.  I wouldn't trade anyone before camp or the start of the season.  Let camp and the beginning of the season decide who should be on the roster, then deal with a plan for trading and collecting more draft picks.

  10. The NHL draft is tricky, like MLB.  Unlike NFL and NBA, most drafted do not hit the big club for a year or two.  It would help if you looked at all your players, from NHL down.  Look at the numbers (#centermen, # wingers, #rhd, #lhd,...) and fill them thru the draft where you think you are short.   As we have seen, sometimes relying on free agency does not work.

and his leadership. He's always played hard and played the right way. He'd be a great influence on some of the young guys.

I don't think Minnesota has any desire to move him out though, even if we were interested (which I doubt).

We have two leaders now on the roster -KO and Zemus.  As a fan, I would rather see the kids play instead of another old, you what you get, player.

  12. It is incredible to me how they have handled that, Johnson.  That Johnson has developed quite a big head.  Someone in upper management needs to put some hands on that Johnson and straighten it out.  There is also the possibility that Johnson is very soft and may not be able to stand up in the NHL.  Another thing, I cannot remember a big Johnson ever making it on the ice?  Most Johnson's shrink.

  13. Hopefully, the elbow/arm has healed.  It appears so by all the golf events and HR swings he has been taking.  I do like the possible threat of two tight ends for the offense.  Will keep the defense honest and hopefully slow down the pass rush.  OC should watch film when New England had Gronk and Hernandez.

I was looking at some AHL goaltending stats, not because the Sabres need one, but to see who was ready for an NHL job and push out a veteran.

Dustin Wolf is ready for NHL duty. 2.08 GAA, .932 SV% 41 wins vs 9 losses with 7 shutouts. Unfortunately he belongs to Calgary. I don’t want Matkstrom and Vladar has decent numbers for a backup, better than Markstrom’s.

Vladar was 14/6 2.91 .895 with a non playoff team. He is 26 years old with 55 career NHL games. This smells too much like the Comrie situation last year.

Vladar could be part of a package for a Hanifin or Andersson trade with UPL, VO or Comrie + pick/prospect going the other way. I think they need to get a better option at G.

Saros was my #1 target but I don’t think they are ready to give Askarov the net.

Varlamov is an interesting UFA, he could be enticed with $$ and a chance to start for a team on the rise.

Hill from Vegas is interesting as well. 26 years old with 101 NHL games. 2.50 GAA.915 SV%.

Comries AHL stats were 910 average save percentage.  Sabres could use that.
