Penalty on Drury was unfortunate, but I think the Sabres haven't been playing bad so far.
Hopefully they'll kick some butt in this 2nd period. Another 7 goal period would be nice. :D
I don't know. This doesn't feel right to me. Having to start the 2nd on a 5-3 for 1:50 isn't going to get the 2nd off on the right skate...

Max has his stick on Souray, and lets him go - Souray scores. I then mention it would've been nice of Max to honor his defensive responsibilities when he was responsible for the breakout by Montreal.
Actually, if Vanek buries his chance, game over. It should never have gotten to that point.
Ryan, Paille, Stafford all looked like rookies last night.
I remember saying to my brother-in-law after the second that they probaby were going to lose the game. Sabres owned the second and could only manage a goal.

That was an amazing final 5 minutes. How can Spacek take a penalty with 2+ to play? Miller was a stud tonight. 3 of those four he didn't have a chance on. How many times are we going to watch Tucker sitting to the left of a goal tender putting in a rebound or pass on the PP? This time the Sabres were down 5-3 so they couldn't move him out. Man he is making a career sitting there.
That was the most bizzare start to a game. Down 5-3 twice in the first 5 minutes. And then how many times have you seen two empty netters in a game????
101 goals in 22 games...
I should also say that Toronto could at least taste a point tonight. Great to deny them.
Was Vanek's pass the best assist of the year so far or what?

He scored one even strength goal and one PP goal. Therefore, he must have been on the ice for both TB goals, hence a -1.
Okay this brings up a gap in my understanding of the scoring then. I thought a point was a point. Does this imply that PP (scored or scored upon) goals have no +/- value, and by corollary, only even strength goals count in +/-? Does that mean just 5-5 and 4-4 too?

Is it just me or is Lindy giving Campbell a rest tonight. Doesn't seem like he is out there much. I like Paille's game. He looks great out there.
