  1. Sabres haven't scored less than three goals in any game yet. Pretty good so far.

Philly breaking up Forsberg line to get more scoring chances and our friend Esche is back in goal after losing to Pitt 4-0.

Feels like a 3-2 game to me.

Amerks 4-0; Sabres 5-0; Pretty impressive start. Kids itching to get up playing as well as those who have made it.

  2. If Edmonton can steal two, why can't we. I like the Sabres to win 2-0. I think this is the game that breaks their spirit. Canes throw 35-40 shots at the net and come up empty. I look for Dumont to score a PP goal and Afinogenov to notch an empty netter. This will be a nail biter as the entire third period will be played in the Buffalo zone with 18-20 shots on goal.

  3. Living in Maryland, local coverage showed more Canes than Sabres games. So I think I have a decent perspective on how they play. Make no mistake, they might start slow, but that doesn't mean they were playing bad. In their clinching game for example, they gave up the first goal (bad goal) to Jersey. They also had to withstand some penalties that favored New Jersey as Jersey played with desperation. The Hurricanes took that and then counterpunched. By the second period it was New Jersey back on their heals. This Carolina teams does appear to pick up steam as they play. Throw out the first two Canadien games and the debacle in the Meadowlands and they never let the other games get away from them. They were pretty consistent. They played their style rather than their opponents. I hope Buffalo continues their 1st period successes.

  4. Welcome Cardiac Canes.. I think you'll like it here... And who knows, by the end of the series, you just might believe too! Game on.. Enjoy it, these teams are near carbon copies of each other. They both block shots, they both have rooks between the pipes, they both are in small markets, and they both play a team game.. Be very afraid of your powerplay.. That is when the Sabres are most dangerous. Short handed goals are becoming the theme of this team.
