  1. By some fans perspectives .... all coaches underachieve except the one who win the cup. And yet most GMs don’t think that way at all. If they did, there would be 30 head coaching vacancies every year since all those coaches sucked and underachieved. Am I doing it right? IMO you can actually have very good or great coaches and still not win a cup and yet, they aren’t underachievers.
  2. For all we know, JB is takiing to 5 other candidates or no other candidates. I bet this whole “talking to McClellan” didn’t come from JB or the Sabres. I’m of the mindset of ... yawn... rumors. I’ll believe it when I see it. Not gonna get too up or down on rumors from twitter junkies.
  3. I think the current tandem will be the same for the next two and final years of Hutton’s contract. No matter what. It’s possible, the future tandem will be UPL backing up Ullmark in 21-22.
  4. Are you still making the mistake of believing what GM’s say to the public and media? Silly boy ... ?
  5. The age doesn’t bother me. It’s winning experience. And as long as he surrounds himself with winning NHL experience with assistants, and he leans on them, it should be (key word should) a good recipe for success.
  6. Yea I agree. I think Babcocks job is rather safe unless there is a monumental downward spiral next season. Which I think is almost impossible considering the talent on the team.
  7. I will happily taste the Leafs fans tears. I hate Boston too, so I want them wiped out in the 2nd round lol.
  8. Although his salary is less, Roberto Luongos Cap hit is still in “stupid” territory ?
  9. Because JQ is gone to FL... Here are the serious candidates so far ... Alain Vigneault Benoit Groulx Bruce Boudreau Todd Nelson Rikard Grönborg Sheldon Keefe Dale Hawerchuk Bob Boughner
  10. Terry, Kim ... I love ya both ... but PLEASE stay out of any coach hiring/interviewing/opinion giving. Let the GM have 100% autonomy.
  11. If JB hires a “younger” coach, then JB should have veto power over who the coach hires as his assistants. He needs to surround himself with a TON of NHL winning experience and wisdom.
  12. Yes! And THAT to me is “total revamping” not 3-5 players. Which is something 29 teams do yearly. Again, agree to disagree.
  13. Meh ... I don’t think it does, but agree to disagree. It’s semantics and word usage I guess.
  14. I don’t think, and I believe JB doesn’t think a “total revamping” is necessary. Move out, and move in 3-5 players ... yes! But “total revamping” isn’t necessary IMO.
  15. Unless someone can refute this ... Nowadays as soon as a head coach is hired, the moment he become the NHL teams head coach, he’s guaranteed his full salary, even if he gets fired ¼, ⅓, ½, ¾, thru his “contract”. So IF his contract is a three year deal for this example, then yes, Housley will get paid next season by the Sabres. Even if he gets another job. It’s guaranteed money.
  16. Make your case for a certain coach you’d like to see hired now that Housley is gone.... Convince the naysayers and doubters why your choice or choices is the best.
  17. Some fans were so pissed that JB wasn’t vocally, publicly, chastising Housley. Like he should air that out to the fans and telegraph his thoughts. JB handled it perfectly. Well done JB.
  18. Same here. He’s doing a great job in Roch. Let him continue to develop and win with that team.
  19. And ye have little faith. I knew it was going to happen before the playoffs… It was just too obvious
