  1. Just back from picking a friend up at the airport and hear Mitts score. Sheesh.
  2. If the Sabres won’t help UPL in the D zone, they better help him in the O zone. Shoot. Shoot. Shoot.
  3. Boys need to shoot the puck tonight. We will need the goals.
  4. Looks like UPL off again. Could have stopped that. Sabres awful in our D zone.
  5. Krebs is fun to watch. Always high energy. Even when he’s spinning out of control.
  6. Even up? Think Samuelson is overrated, but has more value at his age than Graves. Have no problem trading Samuelson just would want something more than just Graves for him. A 2nd or 3rd round draft pick, perhaps.
  7. Graves is an interesting idea. Looks like he doesn’t fit the Pens plans next year, and could be waived. Big guy, but not an enforcer, considered a positionally sound LHD man. About to turn 30, doesn’t have any SC experience but has 35 playoff games. Would offer Bryson, a prospect, and later round draft choice. We would still need a RHD enforcer. Cap hit $4.5M Would pursue Ekblad if he goes UFA. Plays a balanced game. RHD, age 29, former #1 draft choice and Calder winner, he is a team leader and alternate C. Spent his entire career with Florida and was considered pivotal to their SC win in 2024. Suspended for 20 games this season for taking performance enhancing drugs and has some injury history. Looks like FL may be moving on. Doubt Pegula and Adams have the chips or chops to get him. Cap hit $7.5M. A bargain, comparatively.
  8. Agree, that is the temptation. Let’s give Adams a challenge. Looks like Bernard-Docker could be a keeper. Still need another RHD. Put a package together with Bryson, a #1 draft choice this year or next, and a couple prospects. Sign a big, nasty veteran in mid-late 20’s with SC experience. Maybe create an attractive package to trade UPL for a proven veteran goalie who needs a change of scenery. Don’t stand pat, Adams. We are close but we need a couple pieces.
  9. Sabres playing so loose and free with no playoff pressure. Hope it burns into there collective memory over the offseason.
  10. Yep. A few dumb players and a coach or two. Laughable.
  11. Pat’s Hot Dogs & Ted’s were across from each other at Sheridan & Parker when I was a kid. Great dogs.
  12. Bummed. Center Ice has the game blacked out down here in the Tampa market. Was looking forward to seeing Östlund play tonight. Even WGR550 is blocked. Listening to the Lightning’s radio broadcast.
  13. Agreed. And therein lies the rub.
  14. No Power fan myself. Guessing KA keeps him unless an offer is so good it can’t be turned down. Plays an offensive game. The double entendre applies. Lacks a consistent defensive game. In zone coverage, often caught out of his quadrant in the D zone, and plays a loose hybrid transition to man to man. Doesn’t like board work or checking. Always late to the scrum in defense of a teammate. Has 12 penalty minutes in 74 games and is -15 +/-. Still expect KA to keep him. Power needs a grown man mentor who can take him under his wing to show him how to play D to his potential.
  15. Interesting. What is it about Ruff’s system you think makes it hard on goalies? I watch our D pinch in the O-zone and are open to breakaways and chasing 2 on 1’s too often. Is this what you mean? Ruff must see this. KA must see this. Puts a real premium on goaltending. Not ready to give up on UPL or promote Levi, but Sabres need better goaltending. Is a trade for a proven goalie inevitable this offseason?
  16. Agree. Neither will ever be a strong top 4 D. Doesn’t mean both couldn’t contribute as bottom 4 D. Just means the Sabres need stronger and more physical top 4 D. Trading one or both in a package to get the top 4 D we covet makes great sense to me. Also agree unlikely KA has the ability to do it.
  17. Sweeping the Series vs the Senators! Confidence Builder! Way to be, Sabres!
