  1. I saw Peter Gabriel at KeyBank on Friday night. Great show. Fantastic artist.
  2. Luce was a really good player, one of all time favorite Sabres. He was drafted in 1966, which was in the 6 team league. He went in the 3rd round, 14th overall. For that draft class he is second in games played (894), first in goals (225) and second in points (553). He was fabulous in the face of circle, on the PK, and as a two way center that could truly shut down the opposition. The crowd at the Aud really appreciated him too. I believe he is still in the Buffalo area.
  3. In coming years he going to get even stronger, hitting him is going to be like running into a slab of marble. I think he is ahead of Rosen, who also developed physically in the off season, which is very encouraging. I think Kulich can jump over Rousek if he shows enough. If not, then he is the first call up.
  4. Yes, took a puck in the wrist/hand, he had his glove on. I heard on WGR Radio 55 that he is ok and was fine in the locker room.
  5. I like this kid already.

John Sabastian. Have not heard that tune in decades.
  7. Proximity to Canada helps in Buffalo's uniqueness. How many cities are boarder cities and near such a cool part of Canada? Today I drove to the Falls, toured both sides. Then went to Niagara on the Lake and got my steps in walking their lovely streets on another gorgeous day September day. I had several shop owners comment positively on my Bills cap, and we also talked Sabres. I even met some Canadian Leaf Haters. I had a very nice dining experience there, all with a European style. I don't pay attention to nicest city, worst city, best city stuff. Buffalo is a fine city - it has world class architecture, diverse people, great food, and close proximity to Lake Erie, Niagara River and Falls, Lake Ontario, Finger Lakes, the Southern Tier of NYS. Plus it boarders a very cool part of Canada and that adds another flavor to living there.
  8. or Brian "Spinner" Spencer.
  9. She is a young lady with extraordinary balance, especially in heels.
  10. I think we will see if his trade deadline moves bear fruit very soon. Greenway should be healthy and ready to contribute, Stillman may yet be a solid 6/7 defender. They still could be very good moves. Clearly, Adams does not like to rent players and he believes in building from within. That is ok right now. We have had some recent threads on how Adams will handle all the prospects in the near future. It is reasonable to think that some of them will be good NHL players, some will be moved and will be good somewhere else, and some will not be good NHL players. He seems unwilling at this time to make that determination, which is fine for me because they are all very young and the team is improving. Many of the core players have not even reached their peak yet. I will evaluate his results, not his style points. This is a pivotal year for him as a GM. Playoffs and competing to win every night is the expectation.
  11. Yes. I love to tinker with things.
  12. No problem. I’m not up on all the social media trends either so I can see the opportunity for misunderstanding here is higher than in normal conversations. Texting, email, forums - none of it can replace people talking. So much communication is non verbal. More emojis are needed (I kid). I assumed he would have known my ‘relax’ was a calming relax, not a sarcastic or aggressive relax. You say PA bucks the trends, I call it contrarian points of view, which I welcome. We need that.
  13. Jacque Plante would be loving this.
  14. We will see. He shows a lot of faith in his players so let’s see if they come through.
  15. My 11th pic from the most recent. Sometimes when you have ‘nothing to do’ you just need to go out and let it flow. So, I took the wife downtown. At Canalside we took a Buffalo River History tour boat ride, which was excellent. Then we walked around exploring on a gorgeous day. Then a cocktail at the Marriott 7th floor which has a great view of downtown. Then I randomly saw my cousin in the lounge and went with him and his gf to watch Jr Sabres on 6th floor. Turned out to be a great day. Harbor Center and Canalside have really helped downtown Buffalo which has never been nicer in my lifetime. This shot was taken as we were walking to the Marriott.
  16. Keeping in the spirit of the thread. The 11th photo from the beginning of the roll. I was asked if I could fix someone’s sump pump.
  17. That big glass thing in front of the tv was known as a cathode-ray tube (crt). It was every fathers nightmare when the tv repair man was called. If the CRT was bad you might as well buy a brand new TV.
  18. Saying “relax” is fine and was meant as constructive advice. This is a Buffalo Sabres hockey fan forum. It has diverse topics related to Buffalo Sabres hockey. If someone does not like a thread topic, even if it’s related to Buffalo Sabres hockey, then their best course is not to participate in it, as opposed to banishing the topic to a sub forum. @PASabreFanis not fragile, he gets it. He seems to be more than capable of handling himself in this forum too.
  19. No support from me on this. It’s is just your off-season doldrums. Season over and we just had the draft, the prospect camp, and the prospect challenge games. Relax @PASabreFan
  20. It’s a very nice mid sized city in a lot of ways. Good people with a sense of history, community, and pride. I really like Buffalo.
