  1. Despise? Wow. Some folks here have suggested that UPL looked better on his last call-up to Buffalo last year, than he did in Rochester. Is that what causes your reaction?
  2. Cool stats .... But who decides what is "expected"? Seems subjective to me.
  3. His reason of "not blocking" his prospects is not looking very good right now. Not sure he could have signed him to a cap friendly deal, but he really did look like a rookie GM when this all went down. If UPL does not emerge this season this error gets even bigger. Let's also keep in mind that while Uhlmark is a loss, he would not have those numbers on this team playing behind this depleted defense. Probably KA's biggest mistake so far. His handling of the goaltending in general.
  4. I am not so sure about that, counting on the odds that is. I like a lot about what Adams is doing to bring in talented prospects and stick to a plan to develop them. However, his reluctance to improve the roster by not adding "blockers" in front of his band of prospects is curious. Unless a prospect beats out a real NHL player you may not have improved the team by moving him up. He can improve the roster without hurting the cap. Granato looks like a decent developer of young talent. As far as him winning on game day in the NHL, that is still TBD. When I read the comments here about him waiting to teach winning hockey versus developing players, I get perplexed. Winning breeds winning. At the professional level winning what this is all about. I am not an advocate for change right now, stability is what this program needs. I am not anointing either of them as savior either.
  5. The bold is BS. Ted is not a tank guy, and he probably didn't buy into do the fully destructive tank that Murray oversaw, and neither did Pat LaFontaine. LaFontaine fled the scene and left Ted hanging. In 2014-15, every time Ted got the team playing better and risking the bottom of the league standings Murray would go off and trade another goalie. It was sickening. Or unless Power is struggling playing with the others. ?
  6. I always enjoy the Hockey Fights Cancer broadcast even though the Sabres quite often do not show up on that night (like last year). This is a must win. The losing streak has to stop and this game gets us over 0.500, so this is the right night for the boys to band together and dig deep. Boston loves to beat us and they will have a huge crowd on hand, lets shut them up. Big weekend for Buffalo sports starts tonight. Let's GO Buffalo! (clap, clap, clap-clap-clap)
  7. He sure did, he was the goalie at the yearly daytime open practice for kids. Some of the kids who grew up in the 70's never got to see a home game until the late 80's because tickets were so scarce, the open practice was a fun filled event. Paul is an awesome guy.
  8. We are the California Golden Seals if my youth. Only we are in this nightmare about 3 times longer.
  9. Other Sabres GMs and Owners have committed far more egregious acts, some hockey related and some not.
  10. I just don't see it in the games or on the scoresheet. I did miss the 3 straight wins while i was on a cruise. A lot of these advanced stats are new to me, but stats usually don't lie. I won't feel silly, I will be happy. I want to see him become an NHL forward.
  11. Why single out Krebs? What is Quinn doing that is any better? Nothing. He looks worse to me. Peterka is playing only a little bit better than these two, After a good start he is fading away. So the question is at what level is best to develop them? Not just Krebs, all three are in the same boat.
  12. I feel the same way at times. We were such a great hockey town at one time. We started with great ownership, a great front office, and we quickly acquired great players. 50+ years later there are still no cups, too many irrelevant teams to count, and too few star players. Another playoff miss is almost certain. Suffering in the midst of a historic NHL playoff drought. Poor management killed one core group, they are gone. The losing culture is still a thing that will keep good veteran players away. Now we have a new core and a bunch of prospects. Can this unproven GM and HC get us to the next level ? We have to stick with them a while longer to see. We still need a goalie. I have been saying that since Miller was shipped out.
  13. Good to know the analytical checks show this There is more to his game than sh% though. We need to see him play a physical 2 way game and dominate with his size. He can do it. Consistency is key. The National announcing team was impressed last night. Would like to see face-off improvement too. This comment goes for the whole team. It was pointed out by the National announcers last night, the Sabres poor face off performance puts them at a disadvantage. Overall Tage and Dahlin are our best players. We need a few more young players (Cozens, Power) and prospects to emerge. We still need that #1 goalie as well.
  14. The three stars is *****. It’s make believe. It’s nothing official . In most cities it’s marketing. Do you not think Tage was a star of the game and one of the best on the ice?
  15. Hey Taro, I think the Yotes beat us more soundly and decisively than the Knights did. The Sabres at least showed up to play tonight and were in for 2 full periods. The problem with the game against Arizona was the Sabres players never showed up to play at all.
  16. It was a good game with a bad ending. We had more bad luck with defections off our players - maybe the defense stands around too much? Comrie is just not making enough saves, and Jack scored a lot of point once Vegas had a safe 3rd period lead.
  17. Bucci called him a 100 point guy. Then checked himself and said “potential”.
  18. Just like Jack to get three goals when the game was already decided.
  19. Fichel. Waving to the the crowd. Showing his maturation.
