  1. I was gonna post this. A caller told him. Oh wow. There may be a few GMs that don’t like The Sabres Organization for whatever reason, maybe it’s agents they deal with, but highly doubtful there is collusion.
  2. We have Helenius and Malenstyn for pick 11.
  3. Absolutely. The guys with big strong thighs and butts have an advantage. You could see that with our own Gilbert way back in the day. Core strength and legs help forwards get up and down the ice and help them with leverage for puck battles. Helenius has good size already and a frame to grow on. I like the comparisons to Barkov’s game as well. Responsible both ways.
  4. Berube likes 2-way players.
  5. Average 4c numbers but does not bring in high end faceoff, pk, or physical play. That takes him to a bit below average but yes, he has room to improve and he does what is asked.
  6. The forward group is weak. Needs a 2C. Pushes Cozens down to 3C for now until he shows he is ready for more. Needs a 4C and 2 more bottom 6 wingers. Handing a job to Savoie is not wise, he should start in Rochester. That makes Krebs a 13 until he shows more.
  7. How should they use Krebs? He doesn’t win draws. His shot is poor and he hasn’t shown any ability to finish. He can pass but yet does not create offense. He was poor as a 3C last season. He is a bit below average as a 4C. He has a little grit but he is not physically strong. He has some ability to be defensively responsible but is he really a shut down guy? This season is important for him. He should be the spare forward but I doubt Adams will bring in two centers, even though he should.
  8. Joki will get dominated in playoffs. Did you watch the play in front of the net in the SCF? Clifton is a better third pair guy and we need the physical play. Muel gets another year and hopefully he can be healthy on the 3rd pair Trade Joki would be my choice but bring on another Top 4 guy to play with Power or Bryam. Let’s get better and stop shuffling a losing hand. They need one more guy that is a top 4.
  9. Or Joki. Muel has a contract they like(d).
  10. Could be a good player for Lindy. Joshua did not even become an NHL regular until he was 26. I not thrilled with this guy, I don’t even remember him in Caps games so I’m not defending the trade. But looking at the data and his usage, he might turn out ok.
  11. Why does it have to be one or the other with Greenway and Malenstyn? I like having both. Now add shut down center and you have one line that Lindy wants and needs. Keep Greenway and say goodbye to Zengus, Jost, Olofsson and Robinson.
  12. Why do you think Guelli is involved in any of this? His big job is to fix the roof and get the scoreboard in on time and working to spec (with no accidents).
  13. There may have been. Certainly KA was not impressed at all with the team culture and there were known "factions of friends" within the team. There are reports of young players and 4th liners being snubbed by Eichel and the cool kids. The team had no soul and you could see it on the ice. My channels always point to the road trip that Adams went on when Bots/Krueger were at the helm. He was not part of Hockey Ops yet he traveled with them and no doubt he did a detailed report to TP on what he saw and heard. Kruger was exposed as a fraud and Covid hit, and TP and KP started to worry about the finances and started streamlining the empire and cutting costs. Bots said he was not going to comply with massive layoffs, the EEE (under the cap) policies, and another rebuild. Goodbye Bots and hello Kevyn, the guy with almost no Hockey Ops experience but yet we trust. Eichel's injury and how to treat it was the easy out for everyone involved. Don't think that other players and agents did not see this. Lehner was already out there complaining about the team, the doctors, the culture, and he clearly thought he did not get good support from the team. You heard Eichel's interview after Buffalo beat Vegas on his return game. He certainly had bad feelings when he left.
  14. Lets stop worrying about an overpay when we had 2 second rounders and we have more prospects than we can ever use. I get that overpaying for a 4th liner is not ideal but other GMs know what we have and Malenstyn is also just scratching the surface as a player. And there is backlog of more good prospects just from the recent two drafts. There is much more work to do and Adams needs move on from certain players and bring in some better players. You cannot change the culture by leaving everything the same. Get a few guys that have won and are not old and burned out. The Country Club of "guys that want to be here" must end. The saying "guys that want to be here" must end along with the ridiculous term "blockers".
  15. Or Clifton gets more gritty with Beck added and some top cover. They need another gritty forward, then they need a gritty top 4 defender. (Move Joker and even Johnson if necessary) pass the grit.
  16. Everyone starts with a clean slate with a new coach coming in. He will say that jobs are open.
  17. I agree he should strike early and get who he wants. 5 more vet players to go.
  18. So two moves by Tuesday evening.
  19. Nice size, especially for the age, but that won't stop the "undersized Euro" cries.
  20. Probably. Lets see what else they do.
  21. Yes, and I know what you mean.
  22. I was in a similar situation with clearances. No more. It feels good to not have to report so much stuff, keep all those records, and get those reviews and updates. 40 years of it is over.
  23. Necas is still out there. He plays wing and center, something Ruff would like in his toolkit. Monahan is a good player too.
