The early season schedule was perfect to lean on UPL and let Levi get his work in Rochester. Instead we did what we did. A poor GM for sure, but I expect Ruff would know this.

He is a real good player to have on the team. He will work hard in hopes that Adams trades him to a Cup contender at the deadline.

I watched the highlights. Blah. Defense stood around a lot. It must have been bad because the SabreSpacers switched from railing on the players to the broadcast crew. I whole heartedly agree that they are amateurish. Since I watch from ESPN+, I often prefer to watch the opponents broadcast, at least for part of the game and then the post game since the Sabres don't provide that.

It is because Milt Ellis is long retired.

No I don't have a problem with Roswell getting acclaim, but sure they could recognize all of the providers. That is a good idea. If there ever was a good cause for awareness, and funding for more research, this it it. That is how I feel, and I have a family connection to the great work done by great people at Roswell.

Worth a shot for a few games. You know Ruff will keep tweaking. There is a few things going on here. Krebs will get ~16 to 18 minutes at 3C. He gets another look, similar to last year at the time of the Mitts trade.

Way back there was the McNab - Savard trade. We traded Taylor Hall to Boston more recently.

I prefer a more grizzled and veteran top 6 guy, someone who has won in the league. We have good young guys already. We need more than that.

Quinn is most likely to get benched when Benson comes back, unless he snaps out of it before that time. Not a long term benching, you don't want to break him, you do it to teach him. Sit a few, and then let him play and see from there.

He will rotate games with the rest of the bottom 4, and he will fill in other spots as needed. He may also be a piece that Adams is willing to package in a trade.

Some good Points Taro, darn good for a guy drafted 187th overall back in 1974. I guess I lean towards @Brawndo's plan then. Reimer holds the fort in limited games while UPL gets going. Ruff said that UPL was going to be a big part of this team and Adams showed him the money, therefore they have to give him the bulk of the work in the early part of the season. That is the time to get Levi sharp in Rochester, down the road you bring up a ready and hungry Levi to bolster the team when the schedule gets more demanding. Of course the trick is Reimer has to contribute when he gets his games - that was the risk. I certainly didn't see enough preseason or practices to tell how far apart Reimer and Levi were. It is all a moot point. We are where we are. At least we have two good candidates in goal. There are several teams that would love to have our goalies. Goaltending will not be our biggest problem this season but right now we need one of them to start carrying the team more, hence the creation of this thread.

Yes, its a catch 22. You see the need for a trade to improve the top 6. You see we have prospects, picks, and cap space. Then you realize that its Kevyn Adams at the helm.
