i say that because we were grossly outplayed throughout parts of the game, but somehow came upt with a win. Maybe "gift game" was too strong of words, but it was a matchup that hte sabres didn't dominate and it could have gone the other way very quickly. However, we won, so end of story

i agree. i haven't seen a defensive effort like that in a while. the devils got their chances, but the sabres really shut down the home run plays. good playoff type game.

we haven't won in NJ since februrary of 2001? damn, that's one bad streak! 3-2... we were able to match the devils for most of the early part of the game. then we opened it up, but let them back in. Good victory. very few penalties, and save that fart at the end. great way to end the road trip, after a miserable start. terrible loss to washington, rebound against the lightning, worst loss of the year against florida, a gift game vs. the habs, and then this one. I'll take that road trip!

i thought that other guy hit the puck before rasmussen did. oh well. miller will jsut be extra pissed for thursday. wow? 3-2 devils??? this game just got interesting...

workman like game, boring 40 minutes, leads to some pretty goals in the 3rd. briere is the man... on a side note, if this is what the sabres look like without drury, please sign the guy tomorrow. that'll make his fever break.

don't you worry. i'll mount my comeback sometime. as for the game tonight, i hope roy and vanek play hard, because i doubt afinogenov will be 100%. Is this a game that biron starts? miller has played a lot lately. It is the last of the road trip, so the sabres will really want to play hard for the win.

great finish to the game. hope we're back on track after last week's 2 losses.

forget the goal... that shift swung the momentum. faster and stronger got us that one. 2-1 after a huge 2nd period.

AWESOME first period for the sabres... no, they didn't score... no they didn't grossly outplay the habs... but they did show up, they skated hard, and they worked.. The good guys had a 4 minute penalty kill, and really limited the canadiens chances. The habs are a good team and outshot the sabres, but if there are such things as moral victories, after thursday's performance, that was a moral victory. Time to light the lamp in the 2nd.

great PK on a 4 minute double minor given to mair for "high sticking". IT seemed bogus... MTL definitely got the hometown discount on that. Either way, the sabres were calm cool and collected on that one... montreal looked a mess.

afinogenov gets the "A" for the game in place of teppo... a look to the future maybe?

at least he's not injured. he has a flu or something, so if he plays, he'll be 100%, if not, i feel for the guy. Being truly sick does suck the big one. Either way, its a rallying point, which the sabres desperately need.

3 games in a row i'm beaten, however, i was able to pin it and put my stamp on it!! anyways, to the game tonight. Let's face if folks, this sabres team is not dominating as they were. They can't flip a switch and turn it on at will at the moment. If they are to win tonight, they're going to have to play hard, gritty, and earn it. The habs will play us hard, and we're probably without Teppo tonight. The boys better be willing to play tough, go to the boards, and make the extra push for the puck. HOPEFULLY, we can pull off a win, but nothing is guarenteed right now... Miller is playing great at the moment, so if we can put forth a semblance of an effort, i can maybe see a 4-2 victory? 3-1? something along those lines... However, as i said before, it could go the other way too... Losing Teppo is huge, however, tallinder's return is on the horizon, so if Teppo is out long-term, it's not TOO big a loss...

and as much as i hate to say it, we have a PP with 3 mintues to go... not over yet

nobody's been injured so far... paestch got into a fight... and we were served some humble pie. I could care less about anaheim's record at the moment. if it takes a loss to get us back on track for the #1 spot for the eastern conference, that's all i care about.

that was randy moller, former buffalo sabre. he said he liked the new jersey and the new designed jersey would be revealed at the all star break. It will be that form fitting garbage, which i see as a horrible failure on the nhl's part... The jerseys have looked like sweaters for over 100 years... you don't change that, period. The game will change too. goalies will let in more goals, defensemen will not block as many shots, and the players will look like girls.
