This is like 1998 sabres. They're playing crappy, and quite frankly, the game is boring as hell. Now if only brian holzinger can get one by auld, we'll be ready for OT. OT is Plante's time!

the sabres didn't really play in the 2rd, but i'm very impressed that they closed out the lightning in the 3rd. not only did they not allow a goal, but they got briere his hat trick. Great way to leave washington as a distant memory. The sabres looked faster and hungrier tonight. Lydman, Roy, and Hecht have their legs again. greag great game

3/9/00---Cory Sarich, Wayne Primeau, Brian Holzinger to tampa for Chris Gratton gratton turned into danny briere, and a comical memory for all sabres fans. nuff said!

so, we're only fans if we blindly cheer? the best fans can criticize their team. the sabres were very flat in the 2nd period and let the lightning gain some momentum. there were no goals scored, but this game is very much at hand going into the 3rd because of the uninspiring play of the sabres in the 2nd period. Keeping your intensity is not about skill, its about heart and grit. i know this team had all 3, its just time to let it roll in the 3rd!

the entire lightning team is comprised of sabres... from retired greats, to coaches, to defensemen, to forwards. its all there well, i'd have to say that the sabres have lost their grip on this game. unless we can get it back, it looks like this game might fall into the latest trend of giving up 2 goal 3rd period leads

i agree. a quick goal will get denis thinking. he's had terrible luck playing the sabres.

lindy got super pissed after that first goal, so you have to wonder if it just got them into gear or something. either way, for as bad as they started, they played great to end it. i'll take a crap goal in the first minute if the big guns can put home 3 after it. 3-1.

Glad to have run into dcsabres again though... the washington arena is top notch too... its pretty much the new style hsbc arena like hockey arena, but it was right next to the subway line, so we were out of there in a breeze. buffalo would be really smart to extend the line to the front door of the hsbc. horrible hockey game, but its all good. briere wasn't hurt, and roy is back... hope the nhl07 poster boy is suspended for a game or two because of that hit though. boy, i've seen some dirty hits and i've seen some DIRTY hits... that was a DIRTY hit.

just from hearing the shots on goal from my wife over the phone, you have to question the transition game as well as passing. As for Numminen, he's made his share of gaffes, however, he's old and basically playing out of position due to the injuries. He's a leader, he's a good defender but he's playing out of position... he is at his best when his minutes are limited, not when he's playing brian campbell 30 minutes hockey... tallinder's return will be the best thing to happen to numminen.

well, i listend online from DC, after going out to eat and seeing about 25 sabres fans in the streets of arlington, va. Yes, there was a "lets go buffalo" chant in the streets of virginia... anyways, i don't have much analysis of the game because i was listening and not watching, however, from what i heard, miller stood on his head. Briere scored the shootout winner, again... This is a huge weekend for the team... to get hecht and lydman back is a big big deal... I'm glad they got the win. say what you want about overtime, shootouts, and giving the opposition points in the standings, well, we got the win. 2 more points, thank you very much!
