I don’t think that’s all I got from. Your last point may be a bit off base.

DONT mistake me for a Lovergirl

we can call this one dud. Unless something happens in the offseason.

15 yrs STH I’m skipping next season

gonna get me some Bandits tics. Maybe a mini for Sabres

Didn't expect this.  I'm still deciding, love my seats and fomo.

@Derrico how many in attendance?  Too far for me from roc.

I’m really intrigued by the thought that these brokers still exist. What would the markup have to be on the ten to fifteen “high demand” games to cover the cost of the other twenty-seven and still make a reasonable return on investment?

My guess is its a handful of seats directly behind opposing teams bench and on the glass.  One time gift for Dad or something.

If we had a team full of Dahlin's we'd be planning the parade now. We suck because he's the only one we got with both heart and talent.

You'll be hard pressed to find anyone that agrees with you about EJ.  He was terrible through and through. Eye test. Old fashioned stats. Advanced stats. He was a drag on CO when they didn't resign him, he was a drag on us, now he's Philly's problem.

Right, he looked like a 6/7 d exactly as expected.

This is the biggest horse 💩 fallacy in hockey. Every team in the league has veterans that have won in the past. They can't all win.

The team with the most heart and talent is the one that wins. Both of these traits cannot be taught.

Dahlin has a lot of heart and talent.  It's not going so well at this point in his career.  Blame the rest of the roster and the GM and Coach?  Ok.
Leadership and IQ matter as well.  EJ, from my ~70 game view, had both.  I'm not saying Dahlin can't continue to grow. And I think Power has the brain, he's just not well coached.  On to next season.

  5. Hopefully some of his professionalism and hard-man attitude wore off on our core of snowflake children upset about getting booed. I don't get the hate. Mouse potatoes I say. The guy was exactly as advertised. He was a 6 at the end of his career, 6's get beat.  It's the players making 10 and 11 million that are supposed to be the positive difference makers every night.  Thank you EJ.

I think that's happening now. Sabres are 5th worse in average attendance and 2nd worse in % capacity.  The fans are doing their part in staying away.

Bit of a long read but sadly I think the only place it would matter is his ego. He's making a lot money either way given the demand to own a team.

Just guessing...if operating loss is $15m per year....10 years of suck is a lot of loss.  Still he bought at $189 and it's valued at $900?  Lol

Maybe a topic for its own thread,…

Is it me, or does this team have zero on-ice chemistry?

There isn’t a single player on a single line that looks like they have any idea of what another player on that line is going to do. Everyone is just reacting and seems surprised. Nobody anticipates anything that actually happens.

    It’s a ***** mess.

I feel ya. When Quinn was in the lineup it felt very different.  And arguably Mitts & Greenway earlier.  But Skinner Tuch Tage = no. Girgs / Okposo = never have possession or just north south.  Krebs + ? = no.  Benson is always 3rd wheel.

I don't know this player. Hope he ends up good.

Someday,… we'll get a player who is actually good, not one with "upside."

Way to kick the can down the road, Kevyn.

Hey Terry, 12 years and counting and I'm still waiting to see anything that would lead me to spend a a single penny on your garbage product, nice work.

Agree but as we know actual good players have nmc and so we can't get them. Not excusing ka and or tp for the bed they've made, but given the situation this guy sounds like potentially best player available.

    But he’ll win.  Lucky bastard.

This is why I like the trade.

I just watched that Danbury Trashers thing on Netflix....maybe like that?  Kidding! But I think their son that plays is probably high school age now.

I never said that. I said he wasn’t as good as he thinks he is.

He’s supposed to be elite,… even generational, to some.

We have yet to see him take over a game, something generational players do.

Tonight, he had the puck along the boards, down by one, his only job is to clear the zone. His lazy play ended up in the net. Game over. Not the play of an elite player.

Missed the game but heard same report, he was trash. This take is correct and it's been going on all season.  Next year he's being paid I think 2nd highest D in league. His skills are elite. His drive is great (similar to Peyton Krebs and most who make it to this level).  His understanding of how to win games against the best players in the world is terrible.  Like, it's hard to understand the decisions he makes at times.

    A eyes!!!???!?!?!

can you write a 100 word preview for the Sabres vs Lighting game tonight?

"Tonight's game between the Buffalo Sabres and the Tampa Bay Lightning promises a showdown of epic proportions. With both teams hungry for a win, expect fast-paced action, jaw-dropping plays, and intense rivalries on full display. The Sabres, led by rising stars like Jack Eichel and Rasmus Dahlin, aim to upset the reigning champions and make a statement. Meanwhile, the Lightning, armed with formidable talent in Nikita Kucherov and Steven Stamkos, seek to defend their title with vigor. It's a clash you won't want to miss, packed with excitement and anticipation from start to finish."

Kane - 14 years.  4 teams.   Mostly a 20 goal guy, two seasons he hit 30.   Toughness that does not translate into good defense or good team play as he is mostly a minus player over that time.

Sure, he can fight but I consider him a role player and potentially cancerous in the room.

Rick Dudley was a 2nd line player that could fight.  Danny Gare could have been 2nd line, but he fit better in the 3rd on our team.   Mike Foligno was 1st and 2nd line, he sure could fight.  May was a fighter, but 3rd line.

After that the glove droppers were mostly lower tier players.

Right - regarding Kane - plays the part on the ice but with all the off-ice distractions I'd suggest he is/was not respected and more importantly not galvanizing for his teammates.  All those guys in my list above I feel truly lead their team to victory.  Kane is more like a Lucic - lookout he's on the ice and he's big and mean and skilled and has a screw loose.  We could use one or two of those too, but Tkachuk, Ovechkin, Crosby, Marchand are not that.

How many physical aggressive players are still playing in the NHL that Buffalo got rid of?? I know there has to be at least 3 or 4

    Name names por favor.
I think sure guys like McNabb or the D on Seattle that inky loves or Risto even.  But here at least from my seat we're talking about an alpha-dog in the top 6.  Marchand, Tkachuk, Stamkos (has presence), Ovechkin (did it years ago), Crosby,  Landeskog maybe, Tavares?.  Guys that the entire league respects (save Marchand) and don't want to be line-matched against.  Instead we have the opposite, Jeff Skinner.

  15. Never forget, ham sandwich hammered for a full season that Evan Rodriguez was an "ahl player".

Also all these ex-sabres on FL are complimentary parts not leaders. Similar to Vegas.

Tkachuk, Barkov, Ekbald are very strong leaders that set the tone for their team (so softies like Reinhart and Montour can play their pretty game).  The Sabres have Okposo, Thompson and Dahlin to match that? Standings make complete sense.

Greenway has grown on me He's not like some super star or some elite player But hes still a solid piece going forward

Same here. Which is why I expect he'll be traded in the next couple of weeks. It's almost like he's begging for it with his recent effort.  And he's the perfect add for the Leafs, Bruins, Edmonton...actually every playoff team.
