This is what happens when the players on the roster just are not suited to play together. Any coach can be perceived to be successful, if their roster's chemistry comes together. We don't have the players. We have a few great players, and the rest are crap unfortunately.

It's the same story, nearly night after night. We need to make some significant changes this off season. While I support this team with everything that burns within me, Botterill has more than just "some work to do". He got Montour, great. He removed ROR, I have to believe there were things behind the scenes there that activated that scenario, so while I don't give it a complete pass, we must move on. Risto has to go, as much as it saddens me, he has to be moved this off season. We need upgrades at just about every defensive position, we need beef on the wings, we need a center spine that can roll, we need another 2 wingers to compliment that center spine, we need better coaching, we need better Power Play coaching, we need a better water boy for christs sake, hell, we even need to replace the anthem singer...…………………… Somewhere, there is a meeting of the Hockey Gods! I understand what your pointing at, and yes, that is an issue as well, but muscle is what primarily wins puck battles along the boards one on one. And we just don't have it. It's not a knock on Botterill completely...……………….well...……………..yes, yes it dam well is. Problem has been identified months ago. I would have taken Lucic's contract for Okposo straight up. Lucic may look as useless as Okposo, but at least he drops the gloves 2 x a year instead of 1.

well, on the positive side, were still in the game. survived the early onslaught well enough I guess. Come on BOYS!!!!!! Make it happen! Because we don't have the muscle players to do so. Did Botterill notice Ferland was available 6 to 8 weeks ago? I wonder.

He needs to add bulk. I told the story of him scoring the shoot out winner on Nov. 10th, my birthday. I met him in the elevator at the Marriott, his frame isn't ready for banging and muscling in the NHL.

It's putting the cart before the horse imo. You can build a team "projected" to win playoff series, and still not make the playoffs due to the long season grind. It's happened before, many seasons as a matter of fact. Teams were trumpeted to be playoff built and not make it in. I see no difference from then, to now. You have to make the playoffs, in order to win a series imo.

The teams goal is to win Lord Stanley's Cup. And that starts by "getting in" to the playoffs. Winning "A" round, does not mean winning Lord Stanley's Cup, since there are 4 rounds to achieve such. Exactly. Let's get in first, then focus on 16 wins out of 28 possible games.

I would think getting in to the playoffs first, is critical to achieving the goal on your list.

I hear ya Weave, I guess it was following the 99 run combined with the insufferable mid/late 80's and hopes from the Molginy/Lafontaine era that culminated my thought process. Of course, the Drury/Breire stint helped suppress it for a couple of seasons. Hell Weave, i didn't even mumble much as I watched them walk for nothing. Apathy is a double edged sword I guess.
