  1. I don't quite buy this.  It is true that you cannot tell the players to go lose on purpose and you can't pull some scrub from the AHL to play ahead of your NHL goaltenders, but that doesn't mean that your coach should have winning as his top priority whether or not it benefits the franchise.  Many teams who find themselves out of the playoffs say that the rest of the season is about player development.  That means that younger players, who might not be as good now but are more important to the future of the franchise, get played ahead of vets.  Obviously, that's not the case here with the goaltenders (neither is likely a big part of the future), but it is an example of the franchise directing the coach to do something other than win at all cost, because it is better for the franchise.  A more comparable example, here, would be giving young defensemen more minutes than Zach Bogosian, even though playing Zach more would give them the best chance to win.  Not that Zach isn't part of the future, but he is already more developed.

For the goaltenders, though, Nolan said (before Johnson went down) that if one of them got hot, then he would continue to play him.  That idea should absolutely have been squashed by GMTM in favor of "I want to see them both get games" plan, instead.  Even more, I would absolutely expect GMTM to tell Ted that he needs to start whichever one is playing worse against Arizona, especially on the road.

I agree with every word of this. I liken it to when I was in middle management, it was nothing for one of the VPs to slash my budget for the good of another department that needed it more. Yes it hurts my department and our goals but it's better for the company as a whole you just accept it and move on. I don't see why it's so sacrilegious for Murray to step in and explain what's better for the organization's longer term goals when it clashes with the short term goals of his employee.

  2. Serious question fellow CHL fans...how many of you still actually watch the games in their semi-entirety?  I think I've watched maybe a total of the equivalent of three or four games this year, heck even the two games I actually attended I probably only watched a period of action since I was in a suite.  If you're still punishing yourself by watching then I can see how you'd be weary at this point, but I'm still mentally strong for the CHL stretch run.  On to the shart!

I put every game on the ipad while watching other things on the TV. I am pleased about every goal against until the shart is assured then I'll instantly flip it back around.

I'm good with whatever amount you'll be comfortable with donating to my favorite charity. :P

Ok $50 is good then. Loser posts the receipt

  3. I'll pass, mainly because that real chance can fluctuate pretty wildly based on a lot of things that haven't happened yet; What I mean is, even with McEichel and a good offseason there will be a chance that isn't insignificant that we finish bottom ten, and we are by no means guaranteed McEichel or a good offseason yet.

As someone who inseminated Laura San Giacomo without the courtesy of putting a bag over her head, I'd have expected you to be ballsier.

With or without McEichel I think we are all but guaranteed to be a bottom 10 team again next year.

    So I'll take that bet..

Ok. $50 to the winner's choice of charity? (Or is $50 not enough for a bet that wont pay off for 13 months?)

  4. Thanks so much for this!  How high of a quality are the feeds?  Are they HD and worth hooking up to the big screen?  Sorry mistyped "big stream" instead of big screen.  I see you can stream it through your ps3 or ps4 which is a huge plus.

Yes very, very high quality for the NHL games. I can airplay them to my AppleTV or there's a dedicated channel on Roku. Both look amazing on my 55" TV. The OHL games are pretty crappy quality except for McDavid who sparkles.

  5. Anyone find a MSG feed, pm me please.  I feel like there is a limited time to hear RJ and sick of watching games on the opposing teams feed.

Anyone else having as tought a season as me finding a quality feed?  It has been a tryign season.  First lost my high quality JTV feed, than wiziwig was shut down, and now the remaing sites seem to only carry the Canadian feeds.  I just wish the NHL would allow me to pay the money so I could watch the Sabres on Centre Ice.

Hockeystreams.com Quality stuff with your choice of feed for each game. NHL, AHL, QMJHL, OHL - it's not free but i've been a customer for two years now.

  6. No I am not going to relax. For some reason after the deadline I feel a level of disgust that I don't care. This tank and everything about it is an embarrassment. On top of that the prize - most likely Eichel - to me is just not worth it. To strip an organization down to this disgusting level for one player is crazy.

So everyone in here can go and bash the hell out of me. It don't bother me. Having my team put the 21 players out on the ice that we are right now is what bothers me. Complete and utter embarrassment. Shart or no shart.

Go watch 2008-2012 again then because that's what would have continued without the teardown.

  7. Which is why I wrote other things in my post about why things can/will change in the last 25% of the season.  The things you deleted when you quoted me.

Everything else has also been true all season, except for Arizona's fire sale. Something you somehow know Murray is not going to match. Haven't you been hit by a chunk of sky yet?
