    Oh hell yes on Tanev.

He is from York just outside of Toronto and played at RIT I imagine convincing him to come to Buffalo wouldn’t be that hard

I'm wondering if Tanev would be the best fit for Power. I have a sense that he has some "Loose Cannon" in him and that makes me concerned about his helping with the development of Power. Then there is also the question about how well he fits in the locker room. I could be totally wrong about this and will happily be corrected by those who know better.

It was explained at the time it was a charity bet. There are lots of non ambulance or health related charities. Boys and Girls Club of Buffalo, boom.

I'll make it easy for you 'nill... whatever charity you and Liger decide on, just add my winnings to the donation. One check for $200 and done.  Or do it online and get some miles from your credit card to defray expenses for the next trip back to Buffalo.

I will not be giving to any charities After witnessing my father die in front of me When I had to wait for an ambulance for 20 minutes .

No one will ever get a cent out of my pocket ever again

I will buy you liquor if you want

So that explains why you never paid off our wager. Not that I ever really expected to see a dime from you.

For the record Buffalonill and I had a $100 to the charitable organization of the winner choice bet during the 2022-23 season. If the Sabres were to exceed 77.5 points, then I was the winner. 77 points or less and my worthy opponent was the winner. As can be seen by the above statement, worthy opponent may not be the best use of the term.

    2 issues with that IMHO.

1 - they aren't going to be pulling a kid up from Ra-cha-cha to play while Okposo is getting a "veteran rest night" in the press box and that is likely an opportunity lost for growth / development.

2 - he's a proud and well respected professional athlete; there is no guarantee that he'll get that pressbox time (especially if he continues to wear the C) and that COULD leave points on the board that they'll want back at the end of the year.

Good points. I was speaking more to the issue of "if" KO were to be spent by Thanksgiving and pushed to the press box for an extended period of time. Not just a rest night but an actual breaking down or broken down scenario.

You have to have SOME guys that are solid in their own end and are good on the PK.  See it as both - a hockey move and a culture move.  Personally believe the purely culture move was the one that happened about a month ago when the Captain was re-signed.  Hoping he doesn't run out of gas in mid-November but the KO signing could look a lot like bringing Pominville back for 1 last season did - awesome in October, spent before (US) Thanksgiving.

Difference is that now there is talent in the pipeline and youngsters looking for opportunity. KO needs some time watching from the press box, not nearly as big a problem as it was 3-4 years ago.

I did a 12 mile hike from lake Moraine to Lake Louise today, it was beautiful and that is not my complaint.

    My complaint.

My body is So F'in sore 😂😂, I'm like wobbling getting up from a seating position because I'm so out of shape and am stupid enough to do this hike with 4k feet of elevation.

Good to hear that you are getting out there and able to complain about it later! You medical reports from the past year or so had us wondering is your days as a wandering vagabond were behind you. Get out there again tomorrow and slay another dragon.

I don't know going all in on an outside goalie is the end all for the drought. I have to look at Jack Campbell in Edmonton as a warning. Campbell didn't cost Edmonton drat picks, prospects... but they spent some serious cash against the cap. He certainly wasn't worth 5 year/5 Million AVG this year. That contract will also drag on Edmonton as they are hard up against the cap. Bobrovsky wasn't playing the down the stretch in the Panthers late season run to make the playoffs. Adin Hill was 4th on the depth chart in Vegas. Far better to get a top 4 defenseman if you're considering giving up assets. The Sabres can absorb giving up 2 to 3 goals a game, giving the their offensive talent... it is the top 4 defensmen that are going to make the difference in wins and losses in my opinion.

Agree with this sentiment. That 4D is the must have. Some additional D help for 5-8 would be nice.

    My priority list:

    1) 4D that has enough experience and is defensively minded thereby providing the optimal environment for the development of Owen Power

    2) Solid and reliable 1A or 1B goalie to provide the optimal environment for the development of Devon Levi

    3) Experienced, but still lots of tread on the tires, face-off savant and penalty killing center to fix both of those problems for the next 3 years or more

The Cleveland clinic is what all institutions should strive to be. What a comprehensive place with every specialist and communication between all staff. I've been in the field for quite a while, and being a patient sucks. Going there is a game changer.

Sounds like you have found the spot you need to be in. That is 90% of the effort in healthcare these days... finding the right people to help and advocating for yourself, or family, or friends until that happens. After 30+ years working in medicine I've learned that a persons mortality and morbidities rests almost entirely on who they are put into a room with. That doctor/nurse/technician/therapist can in a few minutes change the pathway your life is on for the better or the worse.

  9. Parayko would have been a great fit 3-4 years ago. Not ideal now but has some value for sure. Has the experience and his name on Lord Stanley's Cup. A RHD that would be a nice fit to mentor and team with Owen for a year or two, or more. Parayko also offers the ability to play up on first pairing should Rasmas or Muel be injured. Provides some seasoned leadership from outside that can show the whole team what is needed to make playoff runs year in and year out.

  10. Nothing like dredging up some ancient history to try to make yourself look better by tearing someone else down. His only problem is nobody cares even a little bit about what he thinks. Well, 2 problems in that now he has enhanced his status as a total douchebag.

No doubt if the Leafs fail again, major changes.  However, this is the year I think they may win a round or two.

I'm of the opposite opinion. TBL have been sandbagging for the past month and resting up for TO. TBL in 4, maybe 5 at the most. Ontario implodes and it gets really ugly as the wholesale changes rain down on management, coaching, players, staff, you name it. Just IMHO of course.

My other prediction is that handicapped people will continue to be carried down that fine establishment's stairs to use the bathroom. And no one will care.

Honestly I don't care what we got for him or even if he ended up waived as long as we upgrade the position. If we can get a pick or prospect all the better.

Upgrade the position... yes absolutely. Trade him for a pick or a prospect... absolutely NOT. You'd be the first in line to crucify KA if that was all he got in a trade of Mitts.

Did you watch him flounder around in the first period?

Or are you just going to cite stats from a team that is improving?

Remember, a rising tide lifts all boats, even the HMS Mittlestadt.

Maybe Mitts woke up and realized the tide was coming in. He seems to have decided to do what needs to be done to ride the wave rather than grab a PFD and float while the wave passes him by. I'll let KA and DG make the determination about where he fits. Either way it's good for the Sabres if Mitts has found his game or if Mitts has increased his trade value.
