  1. I just want to say thanks to all the guys that replied about the waiver rules and how they affect the Sabres players. Please feel free to explain other roster rules as they come up. I'm sure I'm not the only member/lurker/guest that appreciates this info!!!!!
  2. Well that changes a lot. Definitely balances the winger positions much better. That info opens all kind of line options. Can't wait to see how it fleshes out.
  3. I guess I would ask who that RW'er is. It seems to me that the RW slots are the hardest to evaluate and line out. Reinhart, Okposo, Pominville, Thompson, Baptiste, Bailey? I don't think Okposo had a steady season last year either.
  4. Which is why I think he should be paired with Reinhart on his right and Sheary on his left. Both of them are steady and can help bring him around. Jack and Skinner will have to learn to play nice together and put the next best RW with them that can fit in.
  5. Good point. To me it shows he may have a new contract in mind vs. taking a chance to get moved to a team he doesn't want to play for.
  6. Spotrac shows his NMC has been removed.
  7. Speculation on my part but with Skinners high takeaway numbers he probably plays himself out of position trying to "steal" pucks. In the offensive zone it would put him behind and he would be the "last man back". In the defensive zone he would get behind his guy letting him free to make plays. Watching some tape this morning he is pretty aggressive (which I like). Maybe pair him with a more defensive minded RW and why not try him with Jack. Those 2 could be beasts in the O zone. Like I said, I'm speculating.
  8. I was thinking the opposite but...........who are the RW's in your lines?
  9. So if Skinner ends up being Jack's trigger man, who is the opposite winger that has the 2 way game to make that line elite?
  10. It sounded like the narrator from Idiocracy. Thanks again.
  11. Thanks MillerVaive. Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel. Sabre fans will need sunglasses when that day comes!
  12. It seems to me that there will be enough changes in the lineup to change the locker room to start the season. Whether it will remain that way after Thanksgiving will depend on wins and losses.
  13. Thanks. It really is hard to understand all the "nuances" of the NHL contracts. I've "googled" around but it seems you only get a bit here and a bit there.
  14. Jack - C Okposo - A Risto or Scandella - A I would think if Risto really wanted it he should get it. If he is not really interested then Scandella would be fine. With everything that went on with Okposo and how the team "rallied" around him, he should be a "no brainer".
  15. With the uncertainty of which player Sam will become in the coming years, isn't a bridge deal the best way to go? If that is reasonable, why is 3 year bridge not as advantageous as a 2 as some are saying? I would think the longer 3 year deal would not cost much more than 2. It's my 1st post after being a "lurker" some time.
