  1. I mean it's their 4th game in 5 nights (3 on the road). I'll wait to see how they can finish. Thinking they can go full throttle for 3 periods are just funny. Sabres can beat these guys in one period.
  2. I'm confused. Cap Friendly and Spotrac have Power on his last year of his ELC next season.
  3. Last game in what was a fun season. I'm going to hope for a Kyle Okposo goal tonight! As for the goalies, my hope would be Levi but if it is either UPL or Comrie I just wonder if that has any future meaning? VO scoring wouldn't hurt and bringing home a win to get to 91 points would be nice. Thank you everyone from the Pegula's on down for a good season and hopefully the start of a bright future! Go Sabres.
  4. I can see that if you look at cost in cap and picks, but wouldn't you agree Greenway is more of an Okposo replacement? I will hold out hope that VO can get packaged to get the second pairing D-man they desperately need. I'm going to think that VO playing style would be replaced with another young guy moving up.
  5. It seems to me you don't want to trade away 100 points in 2 players this offseason. Get what you can with VO and lose his $4.75M cap hit but I think you just have to keep Mitts for another year. His $2.5M hit is peanuts and you just have to see if he can make another big step next year. IMO.
  6. Have to say loved how they played hard right to the end on b2b night.
  7. HCDG in the locker room. "I think this situation absolutely requires, a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part". Tuch: "And we're just the guys to do it". "LET'S DO IT"!
  8. Shorthanded down 3-1. These are times that try fan's souls!
  9. Forwards have to come back and help on that.
  10. Thank you for your reply. That is pretty much what I think should be done with him. Personally think it can be done without the raise but that's insignificant.
  11. Wow. I would think he is weighing all the inputs from his agent and support team. I would move your decimal point over 2 places to 50%. He just ended a long and exciting NCAA career and shifting gears to his future can't be easy.
  12. A good a place as any to ask the question to the board, what are the terms that make sense if GMKA wants Jost back? Would it be a repeat of his last 2-year $4M total contract? My untrained hockey eye sees him playing very hard to end the season. I think he has a place on the team for another 2 years. Of course, he like so many other Sabres, is weak on FOs. He is getting some decent PK time, not sure how his play is there. With KO and Girgs maybe both leaving (I am leaning on Grigs getting another 2 year) it's leaving a hole on the PK. I do like his hustle and tenacity.
  13. He was a boy among men his first 3 seasons and no doubt had a lot of conflicting coaching during that timeframe. His injury last season didn't help his growth. Casey has shown me that sometimes we can't accurately predict how a player develops. His $2.5M hit next season will most likely be a steal. I for one am not sure if GMKA should give him the new contract during the summer or wait out his last year. It's a tough call and could be good or bad in both scenarios. Casey does need to improve his shooting, FOs and general growth as a 2-way player. Next season could be the most important in his career and I look forward to seeing how he plays.
  14. NHL Shootout Rules FAQs Can the Puck Go Backwards in an NHL Shootout? The designated shooter must keep the puck moving forward at all times until releasing it at the net. However, when stickhandling and trying to deke the goalie a player may move the puck sideways and backwards while in possession. Can You Completely Stop in an NHL Shootout? If the puck or player comes to a complete halt in a shootout then the player’s attempt is disqualified. A shootout attempt is considered to be complete once the players shoots the puck or the puck passes across the goal line.
