I want it remembered that I didn’t start this thread. I’ll admit that the thought had occurred, but I was going to wait until at least July 5th. So far the team is not improved.

I love Adams. He’s such a good GM. A 2nd for a lousy player. When will the fun never end?

Good player, like the pick, but whatever. Just another prospect. Would rather have had Eiserman, but something turned teams off from Cole. We may regret not staying at 11 as Dickinson and Buium fell to 11 and 12 respectively.

Like he’s done the last two years? I agree with @thewookie1. If Adams brings back the same roster save a few bottom of the barrel FAs like last offseason he should be fired before training came starts.

He will make no move during the draft to improve the NHL roster.

This sums up the problem with the Adams tenure perfectly. Adams has had the opportunity to make a bold move the last two years to get this team over the hump and all we receive is uninspired FAs and the dumping of players at the deadline for more assets. The lone exception remains Greenway and even that was a low cost low risk move. Sadly I’m expecting some Clifton level FAs, Krebs as the 3c, Savoie on the roster and the Skinner buyout/trade as the “big move.” I pray he prove me wrong.

“Some degree”? “Over the top” ? I think you mean accurate, honest and justified criticism. What trade or UFA besides Greenway has made the team better? How does adding the 42nd pick make this team better now, if ever? Right now Adam needs to find 5 NHL forwards to simply complete his NHL roster much less improve that roster. Adams saying that Krebs is a “solution at center” is an illustration that he still doesn’t have a clue how to fix his sorry roster.

Benson can get a new deal in July 2025. I doubt the cap will be 100 mill by then.

I doubt the Sabres are in on Necas. Adams wants some cap figure guarantee and I doubt he wants to invest over $6 mill a season for more than 4 years on anyone that isn’t one of his core draftees. I honestly don’t blame him. He has 3 huge breakout candidates in JJP, Quinn and Benson he’ll want to pay.

Good comments from @dudacek, but Adams deserves every bit of snark thrown his way. Outside of trading for Greenway he has not made a single trade or UFA signing that has improved the team. Why should any fan trust his judgement at this point? Truthfully he has lost the benefit of the doubt. I would have applauded this move 3 years ago. In a vacuum I have zero issue with this trade, but given the current circumstances of this team, we need more roster upgrades, not more draft capital. Unless and until he makes a substantive move to fix his failing NHL roster, he deserves the scorn of the fanbase.
