  1. Where do I sign? That said, I might be in the minority, but I still kind of like his personality after the whistle blows. He just sucks at calling the play on the radio.
  2. That's kind of where I end up. He did seem like a really nice guy in his public persona (at least until the anti-fan thing), but who among us really knows. Like anyone, I wish him the best... But no more than the guy who retires from the factory down the street.
  3. Did he end up staying in Buffalo or did he move back to Minnesota?
  4. This seems like one of those injuries he already had, possibly for doing something non-hockey related... But as a key piece of the team, it gets covered up as an on-ice injury.
  5. I'm too lazy to look it up, but my memory is this is at or below what all the other 1-way bottom of the roster forwards are making.
  6. Sounds good. Given the low level of competition, I'd have liked to see at least a PPG, even with bad luck. Small sample size though. Kulich in comparison had 6pts which seems more appropriate for the level of competition. If Γ–stlund jumped off the page eye test wise that's at least some good news.
  7. Looking at the box scores, Γ–stlund finished the Prospects Tournament with 0 points. As a 20yo taken 16th overall, you'd hope to see him somewhere in the Kulich / Rosen ballpark. I didn't watch a lot of the games, but when I did Kulich and to a lesser extent Rosen jumped off the page. What's the deal with Γ–stlund?
  8. Rousek would need to be waived as well?
  9. I feel like all the groupthink and armchair GM's on here have anointed our 4th as being set in stone when as far as I know, the team has said nothing at all to that effect. These new guys are all making tweener salaries (between press box and playing). On a 23 man roster, any one of them can be alternated in and out of the lineup. As I said in another thread, Greenway can easily be dropped to the 4th line in favour of a legitimate scoring threat. And all that says nothing about the inevitable injuries we'll be sure to get. In short, between injuries and the team likely carrying 14 forwards... as long as Kulich comes in hot in training camp, he's on the team.
  10. Greenway could easily be moved down to the 4th line to make room for Kulich on the 3rd.
  11. What I meant was that the accounts of the game suggested they're weak on prospects.
  12. Didn't watch it, but based on the comments you really have to feel for the CBJ fans. Bottom of the standings, tragically losing their star winger, and a prospect group that got manhandled by the Sabres.
  13. Just going by memory, the first INT was off the receiver's shoulder and he should have caught it. Is that not right? The 3rd was a good pressure by the D, but how many times will a QB not make a throwaway all the way out of bounds while under pressure? Seems like we caught a break there.
  14. Seems to be a lot of praise for the defense from last night. While they certainly had their moments with some key stops, my untrained eye saw the Dolphins beating themselves more than the Bills defense forcing the turnovers. Had it not been for a gap from a receiver, a couple gaps by Tua, and the injury, I think the score could have looked a lot different. Admittedly I'm just an armchair QB and never played the game so I might not see the same things as some of you. What am I missing?
  15. I used to ride a lot in my 20s on my mountain bike, mainly for transportation purposes. Once in a while though I'd go out and do 20 or 30 miles. I had enough close calls that I'd never consider cycling as a sport. Hats off to @Doohickie and the rest of you guys that are still at it. The worst are the transport trucks. They don't pull over AND they blow up tons of wind. They blew me onto the gravel shoulder so many times... Some of those times I would have gone down for sure with road tires.
  16. How did this thread get to 9 pages? I listened to the podcast last night while I was mowing the lawn and the whole show was Friedman giving a preview of all 32 teams as a welcome back to the pod (new season and after the Marek departure). It was clear to me that he had nothing on the Sabres and this was the best narrative he could manufacture.
  17. Not sure if this is a thing in Texas, but I live in an area that's really popular with weekend cyclists. Does that law allow them to ride side by side, as some people do around here? It's the exception rather than the norm, but sometimes you see people not wanting to share the road and they'll back up cars behind them when there's plenty of room to go single file.
  18. I think comradery makes a team better and improves the chances of winning. Our perennial youngest team in the league just has never had the horses to win. Unfortunately, barring a major upward trajectory compared to last year, we will have a hard time improving on our 23rd in the league GF... especially after losing two of our best guns. Hopefully the Lindy factor is real and our fastest in the league 4th line can make up the difference (and more). I'm still doubtful. That said, if we get another top 6, I'm officially on the going to the playoff bandwagon.
  19. If McDermott is running the D today, do we fare better?
  20. On notice?!?! πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ€£ πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ€£πŸ˜‚... 😒
  21. I'd like to see Lindy rip Greenway a new one for playing like he's 6'1 190lb when he's really 6'6 230lb. If he doesn't get it going, maybe we could give his spot to one of the youngsters who's hungrier and has a lot more upside than Greenway's 10 goals a year.
  22. Haha! I thought about that reference... But didn't pull the trigger.
  23. Maybe he can get the guys I mentioned playing to what we saw two years ago. If so, we've got a chance. I just don't like losing Skinner and Mitts... And Byram was a net negative expected goal % guy on the Avalanche which is pretty hard to do on a team that good. Unless you're telling me he was the guy who took on all CO's prime defensive matchups, him getting a lot of ice time next year (as expected) will not help us.
  24. Our leading scorer was on the 3rd line last year until he was traded. Unless Cozens, Tuch, and TnT all play like 22-23 and our other young guys take steps forward, we're weaker on every theoretical line except our 4th line. But since I don't know for sure who's playing 3rd line, I can't answer the poll question. I do hear voices though and they're scary as *****!
