Darcy looks like a genius retrospectively compared to the stiffs that have followed. He did field a few great teams and many of his trades were really good working with much less of a budget.

How many more years does Adams and Donny get? You have to honestly ask that question now.

The other thing I worry is the mass youth movement. If it took Mitts and Tage 4-5 years to get their NHL wheels, we are rostering young guys throughout the whole line up. Realistically, if you use that theory, we are looking at 2026-27 until many of these guys hit their stride.

Tuch will be fine. But it seems there are hints the entire team is not going to score nearly as many goals as last year. Hope I’m wrong. Could we be looking at year 13 of the drought? It’s beyond humiliating and seems impossible to miss that many years in a row. Nobody has been that bad.

I agree. I honestly don’t think he had many tough shots to stop. He just played sound. The Sabres really didn’t throw many scary shots at him.

If November is as bad as October you have to consider pulling the plug. A few more losses and it’s a steep uphill climb the rest of the way. Gallant doesn’t like young guys though. He favors vets and would eat Adams alive. But… this team would be more sound defensively.

Disaster. All the hype and we are worse. In a big hole right out of the gate. The best thing for this team is to get on the road for a while. We cannot play in our barn. The fans will continue to stay away.

This has gone from a slow start and now we are in disastrous start territory. It wasn’t a bad effort we just cannot connect on anything.

Well we are really going to see what this coaching staff is made up of the next several weeks. I think this will be a big moment for our future. Can the current staff get these guys back on track? It makes me nervous when they openly say they have no real answers right now. We face a tough Tampa team then onto Cincy. That could be ugly.

The Eagles play big boy football the way it should be played. It starts in the trenches. Wow I wish we had that team. They get it.

I think it’s more believable they don’t make than do based on injuries and strength of schedule.

Super sad. Just brutal. I really had hopes this was the team to finally do it. Same old same old.

What does that have to do with our terrible coaching and effort?

I had a bad sense this was an 8-10 win season and no playoffs. The hard part is ahead still. This team might not win more than 2-3 games on the back side of the schedule. Cincy, Dallas, KC, Miami, Philly… oof, plus the Jets and Pats again is no guarantee.

Probably the saddest game I’ve watched in a while because it’s the official end to the SB window. You can feel it and see it. 😡😡😡
