Happy Thanksgiving all!

Looking at the pack we are in for the last two spots gets even more depressing. Probably 4-5 teams better than us. We are already 5 points out if a division spot. We’d need like an 8-2 run for that.

Wow. Im don’t even know how to respond to that.

I’m trying to be fair and realistic but tonight did it for me, I don’t think they have what it takes to make the jump yet. Still at least a year away. I hope I am wrong. I can’t see this team suddenly becoming consistent enough to leap ahead of the teams they are in contention with for a wc spot.

The Achilles heel is still goaltending. If we don’t make the playoffs, that will be the number one cause.

Yup. I’m tired of hearing “eventually they are going to win”. We’ve been saying that too long. Start winning games like this and figure out a way to be clutch. Zero excuse for tonight.

At this point this is not a playoff team. This was a brutal way to lose in a game they should have won. Over and over we keep finding a way to choke games away.

I was not expecting to be in the basement nearly a quarter way in... but here we are. And it seems a good effort for a period and a quarter is now considered a moral victory.

Lost 3 in a row, 4 of the last 5. Lost because of a goaltending gaffe. 1 good period is not good enough. This team is now a point from the basement and Ottawa has 3 games in hand.
