Komarov and Savoie are probably the two prospects I least want to move at this time. Both have shown great potential through their play in the playoffs.

TBF that’s probably the time they have max value in a trade.

Adams has failed. This team isn't even a playoff team let alone a contender. He's been complacent and slow to react, preferring loyalty to his players over building a winning franchise. Until he proves otherwise, I expect him to continue his safe and soft handling of the team.

Maybe it’s all talk.  At this point I also need to see it to believe it.  But Adams is sure sounding different the last couple of post season pressers/interviews.  Again, I need to see it but maybe he finally realizes his ass is on the line.  I heard more urgency than ‘can’t block the prospects’ we’ve heard in off seasons past.  I think he has a big summer.

I recently watched the Bandits play on TV in a playoff game. The house was full and the fans were engaged. The Bandits won the game in overtime in a dramatic fashion. It's a shame that the hockey fanbase has been subjected to such a lengthy period of mediocre hockey. The organization has to make a concerted effort this offseason to improve the team and give the fans a realistic chance for success. I'm confident the fanbase will positively respond if the organization demonstrates that it is serious about putting out a worthy product.

I went to my first Bandits game last month and was blown away by the energy.  I can't wait for the Sabres to become relevant again.  I want Keybank that loud for Sabres games.

Grabed tickets to Sunday's semi-finals.  Looking forward to it!

You wonder why some of these guys don’t have credibility.

If true, either Berube said no to an interview or Adams just BSed everyone and only talked to Ruff.

Either way I don’t care but the larger optics aren’t great.

I don’t think KA cares about optics.  I don’t know what Terry said to him but he sounded like a different guy after firing meatballs.  He sounded confident in that press conference that he knew who his guy is.  The same guy he knows very well and worked under.  He wanted Ruff from before the moment he fired Donnie.  If that’s his ride or die I’m fine he didn’t mess around and got who he wanted.

The results from this are squarely on KA now though.  If this doesn’t work we will be looking at a Gm search in 2 years or less.

Lindy Ruff from 1999 had fire in his belly. Fast forward to 2024 and I don't see it anymore. My guess is that in three years, Ruff won't be coaching anymore. I hope it works out for the best, but today I'm skeptical. Time will tell.

This is an introductory press conference in April.  While he was much more mellow than I remember, thinking that may change come October.

Wasn’t my first choice but they’ve been a train wreck since he last left.  He’s had previous success here and elsewhere in the league.  Hope it’s the right move.  Watching Donnie’s team get scored on in the first 5 min of every game and then seeing his sad demeanour and lack of communication on the bench was not working and I’m so glad were not running that back again.

They jumped over the Sabres and got closer, really close, and they didn't sell off picks/prospects to do it. I'd say that was a small success. I don't watch them enough to know much more.

The wings were horrible down the stretch.  I talk regularly to a wings fan and there was no feeling of success for them either, despite their 2 additional wins.

All fair points, but … this isn’t binary.

I’ve been a Bills STH for a while now. There is something transcendent about being in a stadium and joining in a stretch of cheering delirium. Fandemonium, as Van called it.

I said it at the time and I’ll say it forever more: The wildcard round when the Bills demolished the Patriots was the happiest I need to be, probably the happiest I can be over a sporting outcome. I was crying at times — with the tears freezing fast to my face. When the Bills win the Super Bowl, I’ll be in a more static environment. It won’t, can’t be the same. I don’t think it’ll even be as delightful. We’ll see.

Whether we’re ooohing and ahhhing over a Josh Allen odds defying scramble or wooping and 🤘 ing at an Eddie Van Halen run of hammer technique arpeggios (RIP), that element of human connection (what some religious call “communion”) adds something unique to and amplifies the enjoyment of the amazing thing we’re experiencing.

This.  Live sports is such a unique experience you can’t get sitting in front of the 70’’ tv. Getting to be stupid expensive unfortunately but I love the feeling Aud describes above.  I just keep hoping the Sabres finally give us the experiences the bills finally produced the last few years.

Adams doubled down on no longer talking about how young this team is.

His tone has shifted from the last time I heard him speak.

It was incredibly refreshing.  I hadn’t heard KA sound like that since during entire 3/4 year tenure.

19 points in 27 games off those injuries.

He’s a stud and that injury derailed this season - but it got Benson here 30 points all at age 18 in 70 games.

If Adams gets the tweaks right this team man…..

Remember when people said Benson would get killed playing this year as he was too small?  71 games and no real injuries all season.  He was a bright spot for sure.

Not something I personally put a ton of stock in.

I was actually most interested in the fact of how close the three were using that calculation given how hard it is to compare their three different leagues.

I think we all have our favourites when it comes to playing armchair GM, but until they're all Sabres — or at least Amerks — it's pretty hard to tell which is better kept and which should be dangled.

This is a huge offseason.  Kevin better not sit on his ***** hands again and bring in Eric Johnson thinking that’s enough.  May be time to move one or two of these prospects.  Upper management gets paid a lot of money to figure out who they think will have the best career.  A lot of projection needed but at some point it’s time to move one or two.  I’m not talking Tim Murray style but we have a lot of depth and need help on the big club.  I don’t want this drought stretching to 14 years….
