My bet would be that if it were said, the same people here who make snarky comments would have absolutely nothing to say, out of fear as coming across like a bigot (and rightfully so). I watch NHL Network practicly all day everyday but I missed this. I'm assuming the list was players 20 and under or something to that affect? They must not understand the point per game stat. Oh well, next season they'll have no choice but to give him credit.

It was a long time ago though I do remember him mixing up lines a lot towards the last couple years he was with us IIRC. Compared to how DB faired here though it would be a vast improvement. He does more with less. I think he'd get a lot out of our players, Ruff was passionate on the bench too. Not sure how that resonates with players, but as a layman fan I loved it.

I read somewhere recently that Malkin saw him in passing, DB said hello, and Malkin ignored him. Maybe Dan was the supervise from a distance type of boss?

Yeah good point. DB does seem to have to need his system in place. That's definitely one thing I loved about Ruff, he seemed to be able to coach so many different types of Sabres teams throughout the years. Have I mentioned that I ❤ Lindy Ruff? ☎????

I wonder if DB will be pickedd up by anyone this offseason? That's something that hasn't been discussed I don't think. I do think he's a good coach, but I don't think he's able to adjust to the players that he has. Come to think of it, he can't cause he's still under contract with us right? I honestly don't think the leafs are nesecarrily that much further along than we are. They got the coach that we wanted. Had we had Babcock I think we would have made the playoffs. Next season we'll have a new HC, and hopefully a better defense and less injuries. I wouldnt be sursprised if we finish ahead of them in our division next season. Not surprised at all.

I hope the new GM does not trade Sam in a package for a top dman . I want Sam to stay for a long long time. We tanked for Sam just as much as we did for Jack.

"Hire competent hockey people" is a lazy and vague statement. Tanking for elite talent is so effective in the NHL that it utilizes a darn draft lottery because of it. You call tanking lazy but imo not giving an alternate option and merly saying "Hire competent hockey people" is equally lazy. Tanking was the hard road not the easy one. Anyone could have kept floating us as a bubble team.
