Nope, had he not touched the puck prior to going in then yes. However he was the last player to make a play with the puck, the only player who touched it prior to going in, and was the player to touch it in the zone. I have seen that ruled as possession in other games. Hell I've seen a defenseman sliding on his back, a puck hitting his skate over his line, called "possession" so possession is very subjective.

It was the right call, even if you've seen other calls that were incorrect. You need to have possession while crossing the line, he clearly did not.

We were cheated out of two goals and the team effectively imploded after the PP just couldn't get the puck in after the 2nd disallowed goal.

Eichel wasn't offside as based on multiple other similar cases where what he did was perfectly legal. Last year we had another team do that to us, we challenged and lost because they ruled that him punching the puck and then retouching it inside the zone counted as possession. Yet here the same thing happens and it isn't somehow possession. Its asinine to say the least.

The other goal was disallowed because the ref blew the play dead thinking Reimer had the puck on the delayed call but in actuality Girgs put the puck in off a rebound.

Eichel looking dejected after this game makes sense. He tried to claw them back into the game but was always stifled by some assorted means and has watched the year's playoff chances evaporate.

    Eichel was clearly offsides.

The Sabres franchise as a history of being easy to play against.  Yes over the years we have had some great character team mates willing to step up for team mates when needed.  They don't have those players now.  The Sabres only have a couple of players in Bogo and Risto who consistently hit opponents every chance they get. The only other player is Baloo who has been stuck in Housley's doghouse for whatever reason.  There is not one forward that other teams defense fears when they go back after a puck.

This team still has too many bottom six players and not enough top end talent.

Risto seems to digress each year and aside from the hitting looks like another Tyler Myers out there. LOST.

JBotts made a point last off season to get more speed. Accomplished with Sheary and Skinner.

This off season he needs to address the power forward position.

    UFA's- Ferland, Simmonds, or Tanev

We trade a power forward (Kane) and surprisingly we are in need of a power forward. Who woulda thunk?

I gave you 3-1st rd picks drafted by us.

You gave me 3 guys that were established prior to coming here and did better here, then left.

We didn't screw up getting rid of those guys, we screwed up getting rid of Kane and ROR with nothing really to show for it.

But, Zadorov is doing better in Colorado, Johnson had one very good season after he left, Ennis is on a stanley cup contender, and grigorenko probably played better during his time in Colorado than he did in Buffalo, although nothing too special.

Are you trying to defend the trades of Kane and ROR ?

I think Lehner was mishandled by GMTM, who was way too hands-off (and liked himself a drinkypoo too), and by the time Botterill came here there was no fixing the situation. Moving on from Lehner turned out to be better for both parties.

Not sure how it turned out better for us, but definitely better for Lehner.  I'm guessing it would have better for us had he played this well as a Sabre this season.

Well, there was that turnover late in the third that was apparently just horrendous. I actually didn't see the entire play. I did see him block the shot with his foot (ow).

I'll say, though: If you're posting one thing about Dahlin in a GDTand it's a criticism, you come off as missing the bigger picture. Is he already the best player on the team? If he's not, he's getting there - rapidly.

I'm not quite sure how to assess his play. The skill set is obvious and exciting, but the mistakes are often. Waits too long to react defensively, many bonehead passes in his zone, gets caught out of position a lot. I know he's only 18, still learning, but he's nowhere near the best player on the team. I'm not down on him in the least, and the encouraging part is that he is pretty effective despite the many mistakes.
