ROR OT winner against Toronto tonight. 11 wins in a row for the Blues.

Its a joke then if there is 0 consistency in what is and isn't possession.
Granted, I'm not surprised, refs will always get the call right/wrong if its against the Sabres. We almost never get a break in terms of reviews going our way.
it's the correct call, you can't claim the refs are unfair when making the correct call.

Nope, had he not touched the puck prior to going in then yes. However he was the last player to make a play with the puck, the only player who touched it prior to going in, and was the player to touch it in the zone. I have seen that ruled as possession in other games. Hell I've seen a defenseman sliding on his back, a puck hitting his skate over his line, called "possession" so possession is very subjective.
It was the right call, even if you've seen other calls that were incorrect. You need to have possession while crossing the line, he clearly did not.

We were cheated out of two goals and the team effectively imploded after the PP just couldn't get the puck in after the 2nd disallowed goal.
Eichel wasn't offside as based on multiple other similar cases where what he did was perfectly legal. Last year we had another team do that to us, we challenged and lost because they ruled that him punching the puck and then retouching it inside the zone counted as possession. Yet here the same thing happens and it isn't somehow possession. Its asinine to say the least.
The other goal was disallowed because the ref blew the play dead thinking Reimer had the puck on the delayed call but in actuality Girgs put the puck in off a rebound.
Eichel looking dejected after this game makes sense. He tried to claw them back into the game but was always stifled by some assorted means and has watched the year's playoff chances evaporate.
Eichel was clearly offsides.

Eichel looks dejected, moreso than usual.
it's because ROR is used to losing...

Well he scored two tonight although one was washed out.
I thought he worked hard tonight. but sure, you want to avoid being -4, don't play so many minutes and don't play with Risto.
He scored 1

Bring Regier back too!! What the hell do we have to lose?!?!
Not saying that, but we did have some great success with him as GM.

The team will be fine, all we need is a rich owner with deep pockets.... remember that ?

And apparently ROR has found a cure for cancer in St.Louis. That trade is working out fabulously.
same with Kane in San Jose

How can they possibly be this bad? They're perpetually regressing.
I blame Kane and ROR - they are locker room cancers. Get rid of them, addition by subtraction.

The Sabres franchise as a history of being easy to play against. Yes over the years we have had some great character team mates willing to step up for team mates when needed. They don't have those players now. The Sabres only have a couple of players in Bogo and Risto who consistently hit opponents every chance they get. The only other player is Baloo who has been stuck in Housley's doghouse for whatever reason. There is not one forward that other teams defense fears when they go back after a puck.
This team still has too many bottom six players and not enough top end talent.
Risto seems to digress each year and aside from the hitting looks like another Tyler Myers out there. LOST.
JBotts made a point last off season to get more speed. Accomplished with Sheary and Skinner.
This off season he needs to address the power forward position.
UFA's- Ferland, Simmonds, or Tanev
We trade a power forward (Kane) and surprisingly we are in need of a power forward. Who woulda thunk?

I gave you 3-1st rd picks drafted by us.
You gave me 3 guys that were established prior to coming here and did better here, then left.
We didn't screw up getting rid of those guys, we screwed up getting rid of Kane and ROR with nothing really to show for it.
But, Zadorov is doing better in Colorado, Johnson had one very good season after he left, Ennis is on a stanley cup contender, and grigorenko probably played better during his time in Colorado than he did in Buffalo, although nothing too special.
Are you trying to defend the trades of Kane and ROR ?

Kane and O'Reilly playing well for 2 very good teams but they were cancers here....maybe they weren't the problem.
Leaving Buffalo certainly seems to help careers- Lehner, Kane, ROR...

we can't have good things.

I think Lehner was mishandled by GMTM, who was way too hands-off (and liked himself a drinkypoo too), and by the time Botterill came here there was no fixing the situation. Moving on from Lehner turned out to be better for both parties.
Not sure how it turned out better for us, but definitely better for Lehner. I'm guessing it would have better for us had he played this well as a Sabre this season.

Well, there was that turnover late in the third that was apparently just horrendous. I actually didn't see the entire play. I did see him block the shot with his foot (ow).
I'll say, though: If you're posting one thing about Dahlin in a GDTand it's a criticism, you come off as missing the bigger picture. Is he already the best player on the team? If he's not, he's getting there - rapidly.
I'm not quite sure how to assess his play. The skill set is obvious and exciting, but the mistakes are often. Waits too long to react defensively, many bonehead passes in his zone, gets caught out of position a lot. I know he's only 18, still learning, but he's nowhere near the best player on the team. I'm not down on him in the least, and the encouraging part is that he is pretty effective despite the many mistakes.

The same staff that keeps taking Pilut out of the lineup?
An appeal to authority can justify any bad decision this organization makes....
our forwards and defensmen play lousy in our own zone, it's our biggest weakness in my opinion. Pilut is a prime culprit, he makes too many mistakes.

Is there anyone else in Rochester worth bringing up for the second half of the season?
nope
Not really a lot down on the farm right now.

I want to win this year, but we just don't have the depth, and a couple rentals aren't going to change that.
why does everyone just assume any trade will be for a rental? But if a rental helps us get into the playoffs, why shouldn't GMJB consider it?

I don't know the numbers, but wonder if the OT losses may have something to do with a goaltender (RL) who was weak in shootouts?
actually 9 of the 10 were OT, not shootouts. But yeah, I'm sure Lehner played a role.

No, bad teams lose
I'll grow on you...
and good teams win... but you discount our wins. We are in a playoff battle right now. We have a 7 game homestand which will probably give a good indication if we will stay in the battle or not.

That 10 game winning streak was fun, and exciting, and the most enjoyable few weeks in the last decade... but it was a mirage. 7 wins in OT/SO.... masked the reality.
at roughly this same point last season, we had lost 10 OT games... did that mask the reality as well?
