I’m sticking with my earlier opinion: the Sabres arent talented enough, but work hard enough to be competitive when they get goaltending.

Most teams(all teams) are expected and in fact do work hard, this is no special accomplishment. They gave up 40 shots, it was goaltending, hard work or not, that kept them in this game. Let's not be happy that the team works hard, that should be a given.

because I'd prefer all the kids down there grow together and experience winning. Having him in Rochester helps them win too. So he gets a taste here which is fine, but then can go back and work on things that may have come up, keep gaining confidence, and excel at that level so that he's truly ready next year and we don't do a Carter Hart on him. Winning NEXT year I am hoping will matter.

Sometimes players excel playing at the higher level, for now at least, he seems to be playing better in Buffalo than Rochester. If he's ready, he's ready.

Ummm, well, I guess I watch different games. Now I was entertained with a close even game, but that was a very depleted Caps line up and we played about the same as a lot of other games this year where better (or less depleted) teams beat us. I really didn't see a whole lot of difference.

The Cozens line, as is becoming the case every night, was once again our best line. Cozens is our best player right now bar none, and I think he's just going to keep getting better. The line works, but it could be even better if Murray would play a little less passive and more assertive. I'm hoping the coaches get him to eventually do that.

UPL is showing the promise we hoped he would but I'd still prefer him in Rochester this year. This season is a wright off, let the kid develop. Send him back down as soon as we can.

Signs of promise, usual issues, but again, this one was entertaining.

If he continues to play well up here, why a need to send him down?  If he struggles or is too inconsistent, yes , back to Rochester.

    This is strangely worded.

Does this mean that they already have a prospective buyer who is proposing to the NHL a plan to move the team to Houston?

It would be kind of weird if the sellers were suggesting the move.  “Yeah, this team isn’t worth much here, but you could move to....um....Houston! Yeah, in Houston this team would do great!”

Sounds to me like they are not just for sale, but already have a buyer, on the condition that the NHL approves a move to Houston.

Not that this means much , but a girl I worked with just took a sales job for the Coyotes, she inquired about the teams status and while they couldn't say anything, they did assure her that plans were being put in place for next season. She felt comfortable enough to take the job. Again, doesn't mean much, but it's something out there.

  5. I just noticed Jonas Johannson because he has given up 8 goals to the leafs tonight, so obviously a bad time to post this, but why did we trade him last year? Colorado, a cup contender, felt strong enough to have him on their roster. Until tonight, he's been decent in limited action. Never understood the trade at the time, makes less sense to me now.

What the heck happened to him, anyways? This is why people say it's tough to project prospect goalies. Even those that establish as CUP WINNERS in the NHL seemingly drop off the face of the earth shortly after. Goalies are so weird.

He had Covid earlier this month, I heard he had symptoms and is still dealing with the effects.

Of course. Should’ve been more clear for the concrete thinkers. They are playing a game that is sold to spectators to watch. These injuries are a direct result of said game. Spectators should have an idea of their work-related injuries.

You do have an idea - a lower body injury usually involves a leg or foot injury. , Upper body, shoulder, neck, head...., yes, it's frustrating because we used to get more info, but does it really matter to fans why a player is out? If he's out for 2 weeks with a foot or neck, what difference is it to the fans?

There are 8 ESPN+ exclusives, which means if you want to watch them in the team's home market you have to have ESPN+ (this game was not on MSG).  However if you're outside of the home market in the U.S., most games are on ESPN+.  I think the Sabres had one game on NHL Network, and there are also a handful of games on TNT (2 for the Sabres I think), the other broadcast partner.

    Got it , thanks.

I know for locals, this stinks, but for me this is great. ESPN+ has Sabres and Bonnies , totally worth it.
