That's only a penalty if a player gets hurt. They hit from behind like that all the time
You can finish your check. Absolutely. But finish it at the hip. Finishing it high, with an upward trajectory, main point of contact being the head/neck? Enjoy your early shower. And enjoy not needing to hit the shower for a few games as you serve a suspension.

I passed the Red Hat Certification Exam for Openstack Cloud Administrator earlier this week; this is the first weekend I haven't had studying hanging over my head in months. I still have lots of work hanging over my head, but that's different. :)
That’s awesome! I only dabble in that kind of stuff- I work in the customer success department for a cloud-based SaaS company. But I know enough to be impressed ????????
Speaking of that job- it’s a new one, one that I was just promoted to earlier in the month. I’m loving it so far! And today was payday. And I had Mongolian BBQ for lunch. And the sun is shining.... it’s a good Friday ;)

Some desire familiarity. Maybe Casey does, maybe he doesn't! It doesn't really matter- I'm mostly posting roommate scenarios in jest because I'm bored!

Casey Nelson is a Minnesota boy. Born in Stillwater, played at Minnesota State (albeit a rival of the Golden Gophers). He's the type that wouldn't buy a house, but could share an apartment. He's my sleeper pick.

Pominville bought a $900K house in Clarence last year and has ties to Minnesota... grasping at straws here.
I hope he lives with Jack and Sam.

Lauren Hall is super nice. I met her outside the arena once. My wife and I were crossing the bridge over the canalside rink and she stopped us to chat. It turned into a production piece (we won ticket upgrades and they filmed a quick video which was displayed on the scoreboard #famous). But we had a normal chat before it turned business.
That was my wife's first hockey game. The Rangers whooped the Sabres. Our ticket upgrades were down behind the Rangers bench, so we were surrounded by blueshirts. But it was still fun :D

He'll be 22 next season.
I sure hope so. His birthday is 11/22. I thought I read somewhere that he wore 11 growing up because of his November birthday. But I can't find the article, so I could be making that up. 22 was always my sports number, and just an awesome jersey number IMO. Would look a hell of a lot better on Casey's back than it does on Larry's.

If it weren't for Nolan wearing 17, maybe Casey would follow Jack's lead and wear his draft year number. Then we could retire 14 all the way through 18 some day ;)

Carey Price just returned from a monthlong layoff due to a concussion. He made 34 saves on Wednesday but was beaten 5 times by the Pens (including Crosby's sick goal). Don't know if we'll get him tonight or not. A fresh Price isn't someone I want to run into....

Well, it's a combination of things.
Firstly, I am in the right frame of mind leading up to the Blessed Month, not that I didn't think I was in prior years, but this feels different and I can't really explain why.
Secondly, I mentioned that we ordered some Qur'ans in anticipation of Ramadan. I have used many, but my wife has always trusted and used an Arabic / English version by Abdullah Yousuf Ali. It is widely believed to the best English version and has both, with extensive notes and commentary by Brother Ali. They arrived recently and I am reading it very carefully and slowly including all the notes and commentary. This is really adding to the enthusiastic anticipation of Ramadan when we are supposed to read the Qur'an in it's entirety.

Maybe a long shot here... have you read any Ali Mazrui? He was a scholar- mostly African studies, but he also published works on Islam (especially political Islam). You might remember that my wedding fell during Ramadan and one of my groomsman was fasting in observance. He is the son of Ali, and most of what I know about the religion comes through his stories. I know NS is a long ways from Kenya, but figured I'd ask :D
