  1. Just as naive as it is to think that you know somebody from watching him in games and videos, it's equally naive to assume you know nothing about a person from watching him in interviews, demeanor on the ice, social media, and past history. I know it's an unpopular mainstream opinion to have in the USA in 2015, but I believe you CAN know things about a famous athlete by carefully observing him. My mistake is posting my concerns on a Sabres board where only positive observations and speculation are allowed and appreciated.
  2. I think you're right that it's just a habit. But I believe you're wrong that it has "absolutely no meaning behind it". We shall see. I believe that unless he changes his personality, he'll have burned his bridges by the end of next year. I'm just very familiar with his type of abrasive personality. What happened in Winnipeg makes total sense to me.
  3. That's not an over-analysis. That's exactly the type of behavior that made his teammates hate him in Winnipeg. I never doubted he can be a perennial 30-40 goal scorer for us, but I always questioned his character. He reminds me of a buddy I have who went to the army and came back a dominance freak. Had to pat everybody's head and subtly let them know he was the alpha. Only way to stop it is to call them out on it.
  4. They probably need to pay for licensing to use those songs, that must be why of all the Pitbull songs they chose "Krazy". These are probably the only songs they can afford.
  5. Wow, those are awful. "Let Me Clear My Throat" is probably the best one but just doesn't feel right after every goal. I honestly vote for no song at all, just let the DJ play whatever he feels like.
  6. How does a law firm get that lead? "Hey, you don't know this but the government is about to buy your house whether you like it or not, but don't worry, we'll be your lawyers!". Who is that law firm smoking cigars and drinking scotch with? How are they chosen to inform the owners and not anybody else? Anybody else feel queasy about that?
  7. I think he should just cut this humble sh*t and pull up to practice in a Lambo.
  8. The Pats needed a miraculous catch by Amendola to get in field goal position. If not for that, we get the ball with two minutes left and a chance to win. That's how comebacks work. If the Bills blew it against the Oilers by falling a TD short, everyone would've had the same feeling they have today.
  9. If we came back and won the game in OT it would have been one of the greatest comebacks of all time. Down 24 in the 4th quarter. They would have had this game as an achievement level on Madden. Tyrod throws a pick and suddenly the story is Brady ripping us apart and penalties. I'm telling you, we almost miraculously came back. I thought we were going to do it and was actually upset when Taylor threw the INT.
  10. Come on man. Stop thinking like a fan and think like a player. I'm not resenting anyone, but I can see someone like Weber who had a big problem with how the fans were acting last year, having some resentment towards Eichel. At least at first.
  11. Don't forget, he's the reason the team tanked last year and ended up with Sabres fans cheering against the team. I wouldn't be surprised if players like Weber don't accept him right away.
  12. All the more reason the NBA is on the upswing. Wait until they're the first American sports league to be all in on gambling. They've already partnered with Fanduel.
  13. NFL is toast once they discover a way to diagnose CTE in living people. Boxing and MMA for sure.
  14. Let's hope it's a smokescreen. Belichick has a simple philosophy: Get as much information as possible about the other team. Limit as much information as possible about his team. Would be nice if we used it against him. It's the reason Brady's on the injury list every week.
  15. I can't defend the Bills for the bargain bin strategy. It is what it is. However, there have been multiple years where we've defeated the Dolphins and Jets twice. If that happened with the Patriots in any of the 4 years I mentioned, we make the playoffs. Then all of a sudden, our last 15 years are on par with the Bengals or Vikings.
  16. We've rarely sucked. We've been a middle of the road team every year. Those teams that "sucked" were a couple Patriots games away from making the playoffs. Win those games and suddenly you would look fondly on the Bledsoe years, and maybe even the Jauron years if we win a playoff game. I'm just annoyed to death with fans acting like we've had the worst teams in the world. They were never good enough, but we never went through what the Lions went through. Every time I bring it up I get the same exact response you just gave: "I'm just so sick and tired....". The Pats dynasty being in our division is one of the biggest reasons for us falling short year after year. If anybody think beating them is "just another game", they have their heads up their ass.
  17. The inferiority complex is overwhelming. Someone ran the numbers on TBD and if we won all our Pats game the last 15 years we would have made the playoffs 4 times, including at least twice during the Bledsoe years. So that pathetic team with Bledsoe, Henry, and Moulds makes the playoffs in 2002 and 2004 if we beat the Pats. Three former pro bowlers you mention, but for some reason they're not good enough for you. If we take into consideration Spygate, well....we should've been there. For anyone curious, 2006 and 2014 are the other years. Yes, that means Losman and Jauron. Edit: In 2002, we would've hosted a wildcard game.
  18. It would mean EVERYTHING if we blow out the Patriots. Pats fans still point to 31-0 as their last great blowout loss. The NFL would take serious notice, our team's confidence would be sky high, everybody would buy in. It's the best thing that could happen short of making the playoffs.
  19. I've never really understood the fan concept of "I don't want to get my hopes up". What's the point of being a fan if you don't want to get your hopes up? What are you so afraid of if you get excited for the Bills to win and they lose? You'll be in a bad mood for a few hours? Who cares? It's sports. It happens. So that's worth being a skeptical grouch all year? Another thing, do people really expect the Bills to never make the playoffs ever again? To never be good ever again? I'm hearing a lot of people bring up 2003 and the other years we started off 4-0 and missed the playoffs as excuses for why they won't buy in this year until the very end. Look at it this way, if we're going to make the playoffs one year, then most likely we're going to start that year off well. Eventually we're going to make the playoffs. And if we do, we're probably going to do well before we clinch. So this idea of "look at 2003", seems like a fallacy to me. I just don't get this whole "lets wait and see" mentality. I don't think it's as wise as some people think it is. Everything moves in cycles, and we're due big time. The team is set up for 4-5 years of success at least, more if Tyrod or EJ become franchise QBs.
  20. When was the last time we watched the Bills and had that feeling like "damn, we're a good football team". 1999? We looked like a serious playoff contender today. Let's see what shady tricks the Pats have up their sleeve next week.
  21. Does anyone have a good game they can point me to? The few videos I've seen of him on DraftBreakdown weren't promising.
  22. It's happened a couple times in the NBA. Brandon Jennings and Emmanuel Mudiay went to Europe instead of NCAA. Plus a kid who skipped his senior year of high school to get paid. There just is no local option in the USA. It's college, Europe, or retail job. There's technically no rule against it (as long as you're 1 year out) but it's pretty much "we'll give him an offer he can't refuse". Austin Matthews, the #1 NHL pick next year is considering going to Switzerland or something like that. My guess the reason we don't have it (besides costs and attendance concerns) is colluding with the NCAA. College kids + NCAA = Billions of dollars. College kids + NFL farm team = Better players but very little profit. Jameis Winston and Johnny Manziel would not generate the amount of attention, merchandise, and ticket sales if they weren't in the NCAA. Instead they'd be anonymous coming out like Joe Flacco.
  23. Farm systems for QBs are no brainers. How to pay for the farm systems is a different question.
