  1. Good explanation. There's no joy when you always have to look around for a flag after a great play.
  2. Saw that too. He might be the obvious captain sooner than expected.
  3. I've noticed that players always seem to group around Girgensons. Seems like a natural leader.
  4. Whether the goal is rejected or not, it's an extra timeout for the other team to slow down the opponent's momentum.
  5. My conspiracy theory is that by going as far back as offsides, it gives the NHL more opportunities to call back goals from a team they don't want winning, especially in the playoffs. If it helps them extend series to 7 games and give big market teams a chance, then it's all good.
  6. No surprise. Question is, why is this news story coming out now?
  7. Yeah, but we don't know what the other guys were saying. We don't know anything. We don't even know if this actually even happened.
  8. He did, but you guys are taking that as fact. It's not like those teams have valuations in the billions of dollars. Jerry Jones must have built the Cowboys new stadium filled with restaurants and luxury suites as a toy too.
  9. On another note, Jarvis Landry looked GOOD against the Jets. Only guy on the team that cared about winning. I'm trading for him in fantasy immediately, should come cheap.
  10. Sure. I think I'm touching on a subject fans don't want to talk about so I'll stop.
  11. Exhibit B: Jack Eichel I don't think there's a franchise in any major sport who's #1 goal it is to win over make money.
  12. I think Murray's real job is to put together a team that helps the marketing department maximize revenue. If winning a Stanley Cup does that, well that's his goal.
  13. Yeah, that's douchey. But don't forget he's the young starting QB playing in Miami. What do you expect? Wasn't Marino the same way? True. But don't forget how he stepped up last year when his starting job was on the line. Can't make judgements off hearsay. It's not like the media doesn't take things out of context.
  14. Yeah, this game isn't on Whaley. Maybe for the O-line but that's not why we lost.
  15. And how the hell does Kouandijo get a false start on a hard count? Not even a false start, that guy honestly thought that we were running a play. I swear he has anxiety problems or something. I saw it in the draft room on draft day and it explains how someone with his talent doesn't do anything last year. He look scared as hell when Glenn went down. Scared like how I'd be scared if I was thrown out there to block. Someone needs to teach him some deep breathing exercises or something.
  16. This game was such a sh*tshow I have a hard time summing it up succinctly without a rewatch. Penalties at crucial, crucial times. How do you get illegal formation on a field goal? A questionable INT as Taro pointed out. A fumble by Woods that should not be a fumble, don't care what the rules say. Arm tackling all game vs the rush leading to 9 or 10 yard gains. TT overthinking the entire 1st half. KW lacking the dynamic playmaking of McCoy. AGAIN starting the game being helpless against short, timed slants. I saw it in the All-22 and I'm a total amateur, how the hell didn't Rex and Thurman see it? Carpenter is no longer reliable. He doesn't believe in himself and it's written all over his face. Thigpen insisting on fair catching inside the 20. Just a total sh&tshow. 80% on coaching/preparation/playcalling/lack of discipline. 20% on refs.
  17. So how much will the D improve with Bogosian back? Does anyone think Murray will trade for or sign a high-end defenseman this season or next offseason?
  18. Well, exciting offense. Defense and goaltending are big question marks.
  19. He has 86 career NHL games. Career save percentage .914 and 2.88 GAA. http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/l/lehnero01.html Give him a chance.
  20. Then let's be patient and wait for them to relax. We all know they're better than this.
  21. He just had a shutout. Consistency is the problem. Probably mental.
  22. That's how I felt. Ray says it was a bad pass, but I thought that was on Gionta.
  23. I don't see a problem with speculating. If the expectations are too high, reality will kick in sooner or later. No need to moderate ourselves.
  24. Crosby is a great player, no doubt. 1st ballot HOFer even with so few games. But even with a high PPG, he's not a Gretzky, Lemieux, or Orr. In fact, if we are talking best ever primes, he's for sure behind: Gretzky, Lemieux, Orr, Bobby Hull, Hasek He's somewhere in the bunch with: Lafleur, Beliveau, Richard, Bossy, Trottier, Bourque, Potvin, Lidstrom, Howe, Jagr, Forsberg, Esposito, Robinson, etc. He's in that mix with the top 10-30 greatest players ever. The difference between him and McDavid is that I think McDavid has the talent to break that top 10. Eichel's ceiling is to join that top 10-30.
