  1. Anyone ever bought a car from a private party in PA and brought it on transfer tags to NY to get titled and registered? I'm curious about the process. Replacing my VW with something cheap might force me down into the land of no-road-salt-ya to get a better deal.

You are going to have pay taxes on it in NY State. Just make sure you have a valid PA title signed over correctly and a bill of sale.

  2. I finally saw Dawn of Justice, I am lukewarm on it. I did not like their version of Lex Luther. The new Superman I am starting to like and even Ben Affleck as Batman was better than I thought he would be. Being a set-up movie, I am interesting to see where all the follow-up movies go and which characters the decide to use and how.

  3. Banned from LA Fitness for life.

    Suspended from her job.

Police opened an investigation into the incident.

    It's a start.

I would guess a law suite will follow.

She might as well just crawl back under the rock she came out from under. In an attempt to shame another person she inadvertently showed the world how ugly she truly is.

  4. All fair points to be sure. I just don't think he's on par with Hall. And yeah, he can be McDavid's McSorley, but if he's a better policeman than winger, it's not a good scenario for them, imo.

    GO SABRES!!!

I'd take Lucic over Hall every time. There was only a ten point difference between the two last season. Lucic brings so much more to a roster. I think he is a bot more than a McSorely, though I have no doubt that the Oilers had McSorely in mind when they signed him.

  5. Nice. Thanks for the link.

I don't understand all the knob polishing for Lucic, though. He's a decent player whose best days are behind him. He's no "culture" changer, either. Having McDavid makes up for a ton of mistakes, but I think they will regret losing Hall FAR  more than they enjoy having Lucic.

    GO SABRES!!!

Lucic is coming off a solid year with 20 goals 55 points and a lofty +26. He's only 28 and has a ton of hockey left in him. He is great pickup for the Oliers. If I am McDavid I am overjoyed to have Lucic on my wing. Lucic is a game changer, teams that may look to take shots at the wonder kid will have to think twice.

  6. I gotta say, I am quite torn with this idea, now espoused by GMTM himself, that even if Kane did nothing wrong, he's still at fault. One minute I agree, then I say... waitaminute.

As I said earlier, Kane should know better than to put himself at risk, especially considering recent history. Looks like GMTM agrees.

  7. I don't think so. He's broken down and benched. About ready to pull a Moulson. Well that's not fair seeing he is on one year relatively cheap deal. I heard someone say after the Nielsen signing Detroit is desperate now. Here's to their string being broken this coming season. We're taking someone's spot and it may as well be theirs.

Vanek is far more talented than Matt Moulson ever was. There is no real comparison there. I expect Vanek to bounce back and put 30 goals this season.

Last year Detroit was a .500 playoff team with their two top guys, Zetterberg and Datsyuk scoring a combined 29 goals. Vanek and Nielsen had a combined 38 goals. They are in transition with Larkin likely to big a bigger factor and still some cap room to make some more moves. They have 24 year old in net with Mrazek, if he continues to develop, the reports of the Red Wings demise will have been greatly exaggerated.

  8. The last two episodes have been some of the television I have seen in a long long time. Peter Dinklage has been outstanding since Tyrion has hit Mereen. He should get an Emmy. His conversations with Daenerys as well as with the masters were wonderfully done. Well done. I am sad that there will only be 13 more episodes.

  9. ...to play hockey or as a restricted free agent.

Probably not worth its own thread, but people seem to want more, so have at it.

Is his career over? What went wrong?

Nothing went wrong, he got as far as he did on talent alone. When it came to a point where he needed to bring more to the rink than just talent, he couldn't or didn't know how.

  10. One must consider Coller may be suffering WGRitis. It's curable fortunately once you find employment more compatible with discussions rather than pontificating for ones own ego. It's quite remarkable that being in media elevates people's knowledge beyond those who are in the profession and getting paid or not paid depending on their evaluations.

I heard Coller's little tirade at the time, talking about how the last four Stanley Cup Champions have been at or near the top of the possession stats. There are many ways to look at things as we have discussed over the years. Coller believes that the possession stats are telling. I believe that it is more telling that there have only been 4 different Stanley Cup Champions out of the last eight Champions. The Blackhawks, Kings, Penguins and Bruins. I would say odds would indicate that next years Champion will come from that group. I'm sure the Penguins and Blackhawks will top most lists as odds on favorites to hoist the Cup.

I guess my question is, do these teams have favorable possession stats by design or do they just happen to have a ton of talent that allows them to control the puck? Do the Sabres chances of getting to the top of the NHL in possession stats fall on a player like Pysyk or does it fall on Eichel, O'Rielly and Reinhart?

  11. franson is  still dealing with a nasty concussion who knows when he'll come out of that one.

THere has to be another defenseman coming.  Stamkos or no.

Unless I missed something, Cam Fowler is still an option, is he not?

One way or another I believe Murray adds another top six forward and a top four defense-man.

  12. Truth. Imagine the reps guys like Barnaby would have if they lived in the cell phone camera era.

    Rumors become fact.

No one ever said it was fair, guys like Kane, young celebrities/millionaires, just live in a different world with targets on their backs most of the time. He needs to either smarten up or hire himself a babysitter to keep him from certain situations. Just heading out to a bar/club is too much of a risk for the young man.

  13. He's absolutely a d-bag bro party boy. It just doesn't mean anything about him as a player.

I think it's going too far to suggest that every night he wants to go to a bar he should rent out a club. Even a rich hockey player would run out of money doing that.

And nobody should have to do that, even you think they should know better.

Don't you think legal fees and lawsuits would drain his money much faster?

  14. Except nobody has any idea what happened and you're saying he needs to get smarter. Nobody has any idea what happened last time except for Hoss's vague snippet from the other day.

As I said, it doesn't matter to me if Kane is at fault or not. These young aesthetes have to realize they are targets. They can afford to shield themselves form the general public if the choose to. Want to go to a club? Rent out a private room with security. Kane is 24 years old and has already been through an incident that he apparently hadn't learned anything from. Any incident going forward is all on Kane no matter what the other person does or what their intentions are.

  15. Really like the trade.

    http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=11866

    Write up:

An offensive defenseman who moves the puck well. A good skater with a good shot. Understands the game well. Good on powerplay and plays an excellent passing game. Needs to upgrade his physical game and be more secure in his own zone.

Seems about right for what we need.

It got better, trade filled a need.

    We'll sign him.

Kulikov is far more physical than Pysyk, which I will guess goes with be a lefty as the primary reasons for the Sabres interest.

  16. Dude should just never leave his apartment.

Remember when O'Reilly drove into a Tim Hortons? He put himself in a lot worse of a spot than Kane did by drinking at a bar. Maybe we should move on from him.

O'Reilly can afford Uber or some other car service. If O'Reilly ends up in another similar situation you have to wonder how smart the guy is.

After the previous incident, you are telling me that Kane can't through a sick party at his home? With his money he should have a bar in his home sicker than any Buffalo area nightclub and he would be able to control who the guests are. It's about being smart. Another incident involving the police is a huge embarrassment for this franchise. I believe last time he stated he was going to be smarter. Apparently not.

  17. For the life of me I will never understand why players continue to put themselves at risk. If can was targeted or initiated an altercation doesn't even matter IMO. Putting yourself at risk shows immaturity and a lack of understanding of your status as a professional athlete. If Kane hasn't grown up by now after the previous incidents than maybe he never will and it's time to move on.

  18. I just want to ask in your opinion, should they sign Stamkos and win a cup within say two or three seasons, is it worth it then? Knowing there are grenades involved that have to play out but you win a cup in the next two to three years. Is it worth it then? You better ######in believe it's worth it. imo.

We all want a Stanley Cup. The problem is that I am not sure the 50-60 goal Steven Stamkos even exists anymore. $11-12 mil over seven years is a potentially crippling contract.

  19.

Jets No. 22 overall pick (acquired in Ladd deal) very much in play with Winnipeg looking for lefty D and top nine forward.

    Hmm.  Gorges?

Who looks for a "top nine" forward?

What a freaking bum Vanek turned out to be.

Maybe this should be a reminder that most mega free agent contracts don't work out. Look at all those who can't wait to see the Sabres through $12 mil a year at Stamkos. Those contracts most always end in regret.
