  1. Oh ya. No usually I’m there. It’s just an evaluation year for me I guess
  2. Starting off like last time here in Winnipeg
  3. Jets wearing their “not the New York rangers” jerseys
  4. Oh shut your pie-holes, True North yellers
  5. Looks pretty likely to me at least that the plan is for 3 goalies to stay a thing
  6. They’ve been pretty good after a slow start. But I think they’ve been better on the road edit:nope, about the same
  7. I planned to. The person I was supposed to go with who has seasons ended up not being able make it, though. I suppose I should have gone, it’s been a while since I’ve missed. But I don’t particularly want to shell out the cash to see them right now (even if I had it lol). Also realistically beers on tap, in addition to tasting like plastic for some reason are like 35 dollars a pop. So, that’s probably the real reason let’s be real for a second here
  8. If it takes Adams… 8 years to field a good team, he has done an *objectively* horrible job as GM compared to literally every other GM, and compared to anything other than the combined, worst of all time efforts of Regier/Murray/Botterill who missed for 9 straight - over which making it after 8 years would represent a slight, modest improvement you know what they say: aim low
  9. It’s not a good argument Just an utterly putrid line of thought imo, I’m sorry. You have to be final 4 or the season is a failure? the rest of the post is non-sensical, but at least not putrid. Having our core locked in cheap relative to the current cap isn’t a situation that improves when the cap goes up further: the one advantage we have gets mitigated because the growing cap grants wiggle room to the teams that actually need it, when we don’t. We were going to be one of the teams NOT capstrapped and now more teams join those ranks. We aren’t even going to utilize said space anyways, given past KA precedent. Growing cap neutralizes the benefit of the strides/points of differential relative to other teams that KA made in CURRENT system
  10. Sabres because of my Dad Blue Jays because of me
  11. That’s fair. We are also 20% of the way through the season. Sticking around the .500 we’ve established so far wouldn’t be surprising and that means a big W today
  12. The Sabres points per game pace is less than last year. This isn’t golf, where improving over schedule (or course) fragments 1, 2 and 3 from last season (or round) means improvement: the team improved it’s pace over the course of last season and now we are back to trending for less. I think fans hoped the improvement would carry over. Nothing really to suggest the Sabres are designed to improve game over game relative to other teams in a match of last year’s trend line. This is flippant at best
  13. The Sabres may have had their best game of the season last year in Winnipeg, they held the puck in the Jets end for nearly the entirety of the first 2 periods (with Hellebuyck standing on his head to keep it close). Hopefully a repeat - the Sabres have had pretty reasonable success in Winnipeg lately
  14. Anything not related to the Sabres
  15. “the mightiest man may be slain by one injury, Tage was pierced by many" “My GM, there will be a time to grieve for Tage, but it is not now. War is coming ... the Boston Beorn’s are on your doorstep. As GM, you are charged with the improving the defence of this city. Where are Buffalo’s reinforcements?” “You still have friends - you are not alone in this league. Send word to Guerin of Minnesota. Light the beacons. “You think you are wise, Sabrespace, yet for all your subtlethreads you have not wisdom. Do you think the eyes of the White Yacht are blind? I *think* we know a little more than the fans. With your left hand you would use me as a shield against Granato, and with your right you would seek to supplant me.” “Authority is not given to you to deny the return of wins - GM!” “The rule of Buffalo is MINE. And no posters.”
  16. It could end up being a really exciting phase, if we’re lucky
  17. Son of a bitch, I really, really miss Rick. Hearing him at the end after a few minutes during which there was actual palpable drama (if you are going to do anthems they should be like that).. just something about it. I was in the right mindset when you hear him. Or maybe the wrong one, it’s making me cry. There’s just a magic there we can’t get back. Really hurts
  18. I also like that he just..sings it. Aside from a *touch* on “Glorious” during “glorious and free”, there’s no unnecessary frill. It’s about the words, presented in a beautiful voice. It’s not *about* the voice and range.
