  1. Have to
  2. Agree. Dahlin, not particularly close He’s 9th in D scoring and has tied a career high in goals, and I know the expectations for him are rightfully high, but it’s a good sign of a player’s ability when he’s putting up that sort of production and it’s basically a footnote Lol A +
  3. It doesn’t mitigate the disappointment of the year but I’d actually be inclined to consider Byram such an addition that we’ve at least already made some *real progress* on the roster improvement we want: so while I’m still expecting a few things, the strong finish with Byram looking integral along the way does help convince me some of the work is already done
  4. I’d be excited, too. And, yes, hoping they don’t disappoint on that excitement like they did this year, overall. Like you said, we were excited last summer, too, for the year.
  5. Agree. Like I said above, it’s quickly becoming something, while unlikely, I think they have a real shot at. Though I’ve been on the “still possible” train the whole time. But it was a very long shot and now its merely a long shot. Still a tough road but very possible.
  6. I’m saying if the results bear it out, he gets credit for it! I can’t understand why this gets framed as a narrative when I’ve always been straight up about measuring based on results, because that was, well, at least my expectation this year. To make it. But I’m not tailoring my position based on the recent results at all.
  7. How is that fair? I thought I was the one who mentions the goalie thing constantly? Now you are quoting my normal stance and insinuating it’s somehow different now and reflective of agitation? Which is it, honestly? You can absolutely disagree but i haven’t changed my stance at all. I just said IN the post you quoted (WHY do I even write this stuff then) that if we make the playoffs - that’s how we’ll have to evaluate how he managed the roster. If we make the playoffs, that was the goal. I’ll gladly say Adams did a satisfactory job in getting the build to this point. I’ve maintained that all along I don’t get all this aggressiveness and the emojis and stuff
  8. You said 2 decades. The year in your profile was 2005. That’s 19 years. What a feeble, feeble attempt at “embarrassment” that would have been. What sort of “gotcha” is that? How could that possibly have been my intention? “19 years, not 20?!! This man is a liar!” The *point* of the joke, an intentionally over exaggerated line from the classic children’s movie ELF (2003), set against a meaningless distinction. I’m sorry you didn’t “get it” but it’s fairly obvious I wasn’t trying to embarrass you Hell of a self fulfilling prophecy, tho
  9. (Please take this with the humour intended)
  10. As of right now, there isn’t a team 8 or below that’s at 50% or above to make it. We are nearing closer to only being unlikely to make it because of “the field” collectively being an issue, but perhaps as likely to make it as any one other team
  11. Watched CARLITO’S WAY (1993) for first time yesterday and DAMN was that a fun, rollicking ride
  12. Whatever. for the record, yes I slightly misquoted it but I thought the reference was also obvious
  13. It was a joke, sir good god Don’t worry, I won’t let it happen/quote you again lmao the most innocuous rib and you fire back with that.
  14. That 7 game skid has been ridiculously key. if they had gone even .500 (below their pace to that point), they’d be 10 up on us
  15. Maybe. But the fact we are sitting here at saying something like 10-4-1 *could* do it shows how much it’s tightened up of late, I think. Winning 2/3 rest of way and mixing in an ot loss along the way is *definitively* not absurd. That’s not a crazy stretch and not crazy long
  16. Was thinking 12-3 but since cutoff could be 91, and we could have the breaker, 11-4 could do it. I can’t see it being 90 but who knows. 89 almost impossible, so if we only win 10, we’d need to lose at least 1 in regulation. 10-4-1, 90 points would have an outside shot of getting in. 11-4, 91 has a reasonable shot 12-3 would almost assuredly
  17. Exactly. That “non optimal, temporary situation” was one Adams carefully crafted for *4 years*. Made his own bed. 4 years. if the expectation is playoffs, it’s playoffs. We measure how the goaltending was handled relative to achieving that goal, the goaltending output for all 82. the best argument here for it being ok is: we might make the playoffs. RESULTS. Stop moving the goalposts. We will know if the roster was handled appropriately based on the results He spoke about that specifically
