It’s going to be Jay McKee and you might as well just hop on the itoldyaso train now. This isn’t about hockey.

I would love the assistant to be Jay McKee! He has done a wonderful job coaching the Hamilton (now Brantford Bulldogs) and all their young players. Loved how Jay played defense for the Sabres as well. This club could certainly use Jay as an assistant and get the D to take some bodies a dish out some hits.

You don’t know that. Maybe Kevyn spoke to both. I mean there is a reason Gallant gets shitcanned so quickly in every stop. Leaving the guy on the side of the road isn’t a positive sign.😄

Im open minded to Lindy. He had NJ going last year with bad goaltending. This year they lost Hamilton early and had horrible goaltending. They didn’t improve at all when Green took over.

Again the rest of his staff is key to me.

Maybe both told Kevyn "Thanks, but no thanks"? I am also open minded to Lindy. Emotion we will get and I don't think that's a bad thing. I agree, the rest of the staff is a huge key!! Let's see what New Jersey does next season under Green before you write him off. Hopefully Lindy does much better than Travis but I believe a full season under Green and Jake Allen in goal will get the Devils on the right path once again.

This isn't true. The Sabres roster made it a very attractive job. Of course we'll never know how attractive now, will we.

To whom? If this truly was the case, Berube and Gallant's agents would have contacted the club regarding the coaching vacancy. Apparently that hasn't happened. I can't see Lindy getting the job over either of those 2 if they made themselves available to the Sabres organization. I'm good with the Lindy hiring but I do feel we, as Sabres fans, over value the players in the organization. Let's see what Lindy can do with them or we see who stays and who gets shipped out for next season. I'm not completely 100% sold on the players in the organization. Some will bloom, others will fail.

  4. I really really hope Lindy is the guy to get this club back in the playoffs. I feel a bit apprehensive at this signing. My personal preference would have been Gallant or Berube but I did love Lindy once. I am afraid if this fails yet again, it will tarnish his history as Sabres coach and the club goes another season of no playoffs. I wish Coach Lindy all the best this upcoming season. Really hoping for "the old Lindy magic"! For all I know, maybe Gallant and Berube's agents already declined that their clients would come to Buffalo and I don't think Brind' Amour is leaving Carolina. God bless you Lindy- here's hoping for the best!!

ok? Not sure of the point here. Should we just not discuss candidates or traits we think are relevant/irrelevant because the Sabres suck at finding the right coaches?

I'm talking about having any faith in the organization getting the correct coach here to get them in the playoffs, based on their previous hiring records and what the end result turned out to be = 13 seasons of failure. I hope that cleared it up for you.

If yesterday had been a mid-season game where we were in the fight for a playoff spot getting a point out of their barn would of been nice. It was a good game, our goaltending was strong, they played well for a few periods but the best goal scorer in the league got us in the end.

    PK was real strong!

Unfortunately for the 13th season in a row: It wasn't!

Not even close, that isn't anywhere near what I was saying. But I guess you (and others) want to swear, say people are useless, wish for them to lose jobs...etc....THAT is ok, but its not me OK for me to say I agree with the concept of some of it, but don't like the level of hatred and swearing that is being used here?   Yeah, take what I said to the level you did...lol, if that makes you feel better, because you are just wrong.

Wanting more is expected.  Saying you want changes, explaining why...yeah, that is totally expected.  But as per my other posts right above, my comment was not about those things, my post is about the fact there is so much hatred and foul language and ill wishing here.  If you people can't tell the difference, or you think its acceptable to feel that way because your hockey team is losing...wow.

Totally acceptable after a 13 season **** show of mismanagement! Do you even comprehend what an embarrassment this once proud franchise is? Do you even remember the good old days of professional hockey in Buffalo? Completely acceptable from the fan base in my opinion.

Sorry… No excuse @Pimlach… One if the reasons we didn’t win more than three in a row all season is we don’t have the right mix of skills, speed, and snark punctuated by a lack of winning veteran perspective… It is the GMs job to roster a competitive team… Adams failed, imo

As the talking heads on SportsCentre said also: "these players are young but have had a few seasons at the NHL level. They now know how the game is played at this level and unfortunately, it may fall back on the coaching". Not sure if it was Bieksa or Luke Gazdic etc. who mentioned that, but it is the truth. Also, it is the GM who filled the starting roster with all that youth and not enough vets if you want to play "the age of the team" card.

What's more silly is thinking that the previous 13 seasons have anything to do with this group of young players.

It has everything to do with the management group and IT'S OWNER- not to mention a management group that cannot recognize a decent hockey coach or tries to reinvent the wheel with these cutting edge coaching hires that continuously fail. (for 13 seasons now!!!- let that sink in: 13 SEASONS NOW)

The other option you ignored is calling out the silliness, which is what he did. He's not the only one who feels this way.

What's incredibly silly is 13 seasons of the worst hockey management in professional sports. A complete and utter joke that seems to get compounded with each approaching season. The fan base has an absolute right to be very very upset and demand better. The Pegula ownership era has been completely forgettable and a disgrace. I for one wouldn't mind seeing him give up ownership of the hockey club to someone who actually cares about it. No more platitudes from this owner and lip service.

Wow, the name calling, complaining, vulgarity, becuase a HOCKEY team we follow is losing?  Fire people!  Swearing in comments (or wanting to) so ***** must be used, Players and the team 'sucks ass', guys are 'useless' or 'wastes of space'. Really?   I think all of us want this team to win, but does being so negative, so full of hate and vitriol at a hockey team and needing to express it that way make all of you feel better?

My question to you is this: Most of us on here have been fans of this once proud hockey club since its inception or since the 70's (such as myself) We have seen wonderfully talented players and some truly magical moments here. A vibrant, thriving arena experience and electricity on game nights. Perhaps you haven't had that? We have had Sabres clubs that weren't all that talented but came to the arena and worked their ***** off every night (The first Nolan era) They were a pleasure to watch and spend money on. It would be nice after 13 excruciatingly long seasons to get that back don't you think? Do you as a Sabres fan , NOT DESERVE BETTER???!!!! Of course you do!!! Demand better!!!! Stop accepting mediocrity or all you'll get is mediocrity. YOU DESERVE BETTER!
