  1. It ridiculous when they dig someone out of the dustbin of history just for the sake of doing it. It's moreso when that person throws shade on people rather than just enjoying being out of the dustbin for 4 minutes.
  2. I was in the car when that interview was about to come in and was like "who on Earth gives a flip what Berglund thinks about anything? In what way is he relevant?"
  3. I know it's the Leafs, but I just can't root for Tampa....
  4. The two across the street from each other aren't good. I mean they are what they are, it's not a fancy thing, but those two are hype over substance. John's Roast Pork (that's the name of the place), D'Alessandro's, and Donkey's Place would probably be my choices. Donkeys is in Camden and comes on a different sort of roll. They also close early and Camden isn't a place to fiddle around after dark. FWIW roast pork with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe is a vastly superior sandwich and it's the one the tourists don't ask for.
  5. Ranch is Beelzebub's condiment of choice. My 13 year old puts ranch in everything...except wings. I'll take that as a win.
  6. I know. Before I moved here I used to really be pessimistic.
  7. You and I agree on this point. But we agree on lots of things and the mob doesn't like us so there's that.
  8. Lol, no I didn't ask my children to empty their pockets, but we did count wings and line them up because I knew it felt short as we were eating. I knew how many I had eaten, and I quickly counted my youngest son's pile and knew my older son's pile wasn't that much bigger. Counted up, got 28.
  9. I've been to several PJ Whelihan's including the original one on Haddon Ave. They are fine. Nothing comparable to an actual wing from Buffalo. Like I said, you do what you need to do to get a fix and you forget what actual "good" is until you go home and have something that's really good. Bar Bill and PJ's are not the same product.
  10. If it were me, and I ran this department with a team of interns breaking down film, I think I'd determine it whether or not my C won the draw into an area that I felt we should obtain the puck from and then define that space. Clearly it's possible to lose to draw and win possession but that not the goal right? You want to put the draw into places where your team statistically is most most likely to win possession. All of that is definable and intern labor is cheap so why not? This is why I say it's privately available. Team aren't going to tell you what they feel like is a won faceoff by the center compared to a lost faceoff by everyone else. The teams know what the center is instructed to do in each scenario while the rest of us might not.
  11. I really wish they'd count them differently. PP and SH faceoffs in the respective zones are HUGE. Faceoffs int eh offensive/defensive zone with the goalie pulled? Also important. The draw the start the game? Who cares?
  12. There really isn't, I've been here for almost 30 years and haven't found anything I'd call really good. You'd be appalled at the atrocities that people serve up around this country called "Buffalo wings" or the like. Everyone has their own regional specialty, Buffalo has wings and if people try to tell you different justifiably spit on them. A Philly steak in Buffalo is an abomination against God compared to what you get in Philly. There's no part of it that's "hard" but nobody gets it right. Though, the cheesesteak is Philly's second best sandwich but that's a different conversation. Even within Philly there is debate upon what is proper. American, Provolone or Whiz. IMO each have their benefits. The better sandwich is roast pork with provolone and broccoli rabe. If you ever come here and haven't had that, get it, and thank me later. An underrated part of what makes it right it is roll and the roll relies on the water (wooder LOL) because baking is chemistry and that's different in each place. Wings should be easier, but somehow they aren't.
  13. You have a chicken on your head. I've eaten so many of your brethren, I understand the ignore.
  14. It's literally this that cause certain schisms in debates on this board because many of us remember that that too. It's like how stolen bases don't matter until Dave Roberts swipes one in the WS in a huge spot. In the aggregate, sure. In individual trial? Nope, totally matter.
  15. because you see krypto for what it is. But I've been told repeatedly that faceoffs don't matter. LOL
  16. I've got a high school shot put thrower, a middle school shot thrower/football player and me. The game we used to play in HS was whoever ate the most wings on 15 cent night didn't have to pay and everyone else split the check equally. My boys both have jobs so they need to bring cash to play the game. Let's see if either can take me down. I lost once in HS, LOL. I'd love to drive to Big Tree, eat a stupid amount of wings, and have my kids pick up the tab. LOL
  17. Also, FTR, I tipped the waitress her normal 20% because kitchen f ups aren't her fault and she got it fixed.
  18. When you live in suburban Philly you do what you need to do. If you learn how to order properly it's tolerable, but's it's not even close to the real thing. To be fair if I go to B-Lo and order a cheesesteak what I will get is crap compared to what I get in Philly.
  19. I remember being annoyed that I was ordering by 10s instead of 12s. Those were the days.
  20. 3 people 30 wings. I'm paying for everyone. The upshot is that it prompted stories about 15 cent wing night where my friends and I tried to do as much damage as possible that pivoted into my boys and I driving up to a 50 cent wing night in WNY where my boys and I actively try bankrupt the place. That will be fun and it might even be wife sanctioned.
