Sounds like Stafford was hurt last night in the Peg
That happened to me once. The pain was unbelievable.
Well done all of you, very well done....

I saw New Jersey play the Preds down here last week. They looked terrible (although Schneider was very good in goal). They still play that boring defensive system, which kills any offensive flow to the game. So, this matchup should be about as exciting as watching paint dry.
:wallbash:

They had 17. 5 through two periods.
Hell, I was hoping the Sabres 10 shot performance would be eclipsed far a far superior Darcy Team...
-
No chance, this game is nationally televised, not sure what NBCSN is thinking.
Market share ..Ratings? Sabres fans still tune in even though they are dead last, and NJ has big audience. Sure as hell isn't the quality of the match up....
TbB..your a touch faster than I am...

yea, that too...Jesus H! I look forward to hopefully digging such a hole in the standings where we can bring up some Rochester boys and not worry about winning . I'm guessing that will be with about 5- 10 games left.
I hope so!!! But it's looking like it's going to go down to the wire...

Tedd Nolan will be on with injury and player updates at 10:05am today. Also our old friend Jay McKee will be on at 11am.
Didn't Jay and Steve Montador play together for 2 seasons? Jay is a good interview and I understand the show getting him on, but just wondering if it could be a little tribute with the timing.

Make it end....

We didn't get the freezing rain as predicted here in Raleigh, but the inch or two of sleet has shut everything right down.
Edit: current temp 20 F.
Doesn't just the threat of precipitation and temperatures below 40 f shut everything down in NC?
When my sister was there, when the weather man came on and said snow, cold, ice , or freezing rain the cancelations started to run along the bottom of the screen. Then if he was wrong everyone would just say "better save than sorry".

This game should be all about Hodgson and Larson. Give them minutes, let them play their game and have fun. It would make it interesting to watch, and we would have something to talk about. Otherwise, watching the snow outside get colder as the sunsets tonight may be just as thrilling to watch.

Is it rue that the Yotes had a total of 6 shots on goal last night?

McEichel plus winning = the New AUD. Put whatever letters they want on the outside, we've only had 2 buildings the Old Aud and the current building. Win, create generational memories and it will be the New Aud to me, not sure if what I'm trying to imply is making sense , but when someone starts a sentence with ...The Old Aud....there is an almost instant generation team connect...
-
They will be waiting forever then...
Ok, Ok, I'll stick to my old man memory......... THE AUD!

Jack finished HS early so he could enroll in college. He wanted to play DI hockey and so he has. Jack Eichel is a very driven individual, he wants to be in the NHL. It is the next step.
And he is ready to take it.
GO SABRES!!!
Buffalo's ready for him to step onto the ice at HSBC ....

How does Ron Dugay still look so good? Does it make me gay that I think he is a good looking dude?
I'm hoping there is alcohol involved, and this is a rhetorical question..... :o

Here is the thing about Kassian... he doesn't have the heart. I don't think Cody does either. At the end of the day I would rather have Nick Deslauriers over Zack Kassian.
:D At the end of the day I would rather have Nicky D. over half the current forwards, we probably won't score more goals, but it be some fun hockey to watch!

Weren't you the main culprit of said name calling? Either you or JJFIVEOH, for some reason my mind has made you one poster.
Wow, you merged JJFIVEOH and Jsixspd in your mind, the tank has been hard on you!

Anything to make the anti-Nolan argument work.
We can look at just about anyone and start a debate that any given person is a major factor for this teams play. I look at one person GMTM, he put it together to be where it is right now, he will have failed if we finish 29th. So his success is in compiling a team playing off of the combination of individual weaknesses and failing, yet looking as though he is trying to make the team better. He's brilliant, and succeeding because we are actually having this debate.

Goal deferential between seasons is a questionable stat as we are Miller-less this year. No winning 1-0, or the dreaded 1-1 go into shoot outs and get pumped up stats. This years team is not as good as last years team, and the stats bear that out. This team has been put together for one purpose, if you try to dissect it and find a positive you'll be hard pressed. This train of thought has kept me sane, and I have papers from the nice Hospital in North Warren, PA telling me I'm not crazy. But the thing is, Nolan's choice of tactics isn't getting the desired effect--we *are* getting blown out. Our goal differential so far this year is -89, while all of last year it was -91; so barring a miraculous turnaround in the remaining 26 games, it's going to be quite a bit worse than last season. If developing the locker room requires games to be close, then he is neither developing the locker room nor developing some young players who may make a long-term contribution to the team, as Qwk said. So if what he's trying blatantly isn't working, why not pivot and try something else? Is he incapable of coaching any other way, or is he simply overly stubborn in his approach?
On a micro level, it could certainly be the case that Nolan/Hodgson/Larsson cannot and will not mesh; after all, some coaches and players being unable to get on the same page isn't exactly unusual, and is not itself grounds for firing. I don't expect Nolan to win much, and I don't expect the team to score much...but I think the roster is at least as good as last year, but is producing results a fair bit worse. I see no alternative but to look at the coach in this case and start really pulling apart some of his decisions.

My apologies for making you uncomfortable.
Rest assured I am just having some fun, but do not intend to take this route again going forward.
I know people from Halifax are nice and all but I thought you were being sarcastic and it made me laugh. But you are and where being...nice. Wow, I feel bad now.

They all know the score. If they win, GMTM makes changes. If they loose GMTM does nothing to alter that. If we think it's tuff as fans, it's has to really suck to be players and coaches. Cody gave up months ago, that works for GMTM, so no love needs given to player or coach to solve it. Nolan would love to bring up AHLer's to help them win, GMTM is not going to do that. Suck it up, play like a professional, it's a tank year, the more dysfunctional the better.

That is very sad, sorry to hear but a heart attack at age 35 is not really natural is it? Terrible to die so young.
Sadly, more so than hopefully you will ever know. When my brother passed at a young age I was talking to a hospital director who put it perspective.
Men between the ages of 35-45 believe they are still indestructible. Eat, drink what ever than want, never go to the doctor, play sports like they are 10-15 younger. Then wham, hopefully just a wake up call, but in many cases they don't get a second chance.
Women, because of having babies, have been to a doctor regularly, have learned how to eat well, proper exercise, moderate their alcohol consumption, all for the babies sake. Therefore less change of dying of natural causes at such a young age.
RIP Steve

They're not exactly kids anymore (she did say 1982, right?), more like her grand kids are forced to deal with grandma's family truxter exploits, little kids are mean.....
