  1. Christ, what an Around the NHL thread. I'd say the only thing Igor is showing intolerance for in this hateful, defensive rant is with mindless, attention-needy celebs. Can't say I blame him in this talentless era of stardom, but Miller is definitely not in this class.
  2. Left Wing Lock ‏@Left_Wing_Lock 15m15 minutes ago Taylor Hall: Will return to the lineup today. http://www.leftwinglock.com/news #nhl #Oilers 0 retweets0 favorites Reply Retweet Favorite More Hopefully will turn this shart show into a two horse race.
  3. Looks like Vogl picked it up too. Reflection of a smart fanbase. John Vogl ‏@BuffNewsVogl 1h1 hour ago Many Sabres fans want Buffalo to lose, but they haven’t voiced their opinion inside the arena. That changed Friday. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/sabres-nhl/sabres-home-loss-to-devils-is-a-crowd-pleaser-20150320 …
  4. Yes, would be very smart to have a playoff like environment for the Yotes in that game.
  5. Sounded like a lot of Devils fans in the house tonight. Didn't think there were that many fans in NJ, let alone western NY. Would be totally down if it is a strategy from tanker season ticket holders. TANKERS: Do you draw the line at going to home games and cheering for the other team?
  6. Reinhart, the second overall pick in the 2014 draft, is expected to join AHL Rochester if his junior team is eliminated from the playoffs, reports the Olean Times Herald. Spin: The WHL regular season is almost over, and after claiming a wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, the underdog Kootenay Ice will face either the Calgary Hitmen or the Medicine Hat Tigers. Even with Reinhart, the Ice aren't considered a heavyweight team, so they're unlikely to go deep into the playoffs. If the Ice get eliminated early, Reinhart will be allowed to come over to the AHL and help the Amerks as they vie for a playoff spot. Reinhart saw nine games with the Sabres this year before being returned to the WHL. From Rotoworld. Would be very exciting to see him playing in the league he should have been in from day 1.
  7. How are there non-tankers on this thread? There are 12 GAMES LEFT. It defies logic to be rooting for this team to win. Go be rah rah team in the Prospects section. This is a therapeutic and holy place, a retreat from this test of hardship. Zona has a hell of a schedule coming up. Tomorrow night at home against Colorado appears to be the best chance for them to fall a couple steps behind in the CHL (other than against us - twice - : / ).
  8. Nugent-Hopkins and Eberle playing top notch hockey, and Hall is close to returning. Big blowout loss to start their 6 game homestand. All of which are losable. 13 more!!!
  9. Aroooooo (coyote). Desert Dogs lose a point they have no right losing.
  10. I was thinking the same thing with Sam. It was pretty clear he needed to work on his body. Maybe this became the priority, far above bolstering his draft status with points. Still, after seeing how out of place he looked in the pros, followed by his below standard play, I can't say I'm free of concern .
  11. Baptiste with a goal and two assists, reaping all the benefits of McDavid's other level play (2 g, 5 pts). (please God)
  12. Agreed. More skill as well. Lets get that other point.
  13. Heres comes a stressful final 7. Lets go Desert Dogs!
  14. LeftWingLock: Freddie Hamilton: Has been traded to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Karl Stollery Wow, wasn't expecting this.
  15. Really? Leaders often use the media to drive negotiations. Even if this wasn't the case, I think the incredible amount of manpower behind him can handle two and a half minutes.
  16. He was on 11 game point streak that ended a week ago after a disappointing start and trade.
  17. Welcome back. This year has certainly reinvigorated my interest in watching 16 and 17-year olds skate! I don't remember another draft where the top two were such sure things. There is no doubt broad consensus that McDavid is number one, and most other years Eichel would be. Not sure which "strange things" you've heard, other than freshman college kid enjoying campus life a bit, but both are praised for their mental game (both on and off-ice) just as much as physical.
  18. I'm with you PhD. No way he stays this hot when team is getting outshot and outcorsied as bad as they were today. If he stays then, I wonder if priority for TM will be to sign him during final two months. Get a good price on him and have that position settled going into next year - at least in theory. Agree 100% goalies are easier to find than top 6ers. Like PhD said though, just don't think Neuv is as big of a tank killer as he's been in last couple weeks. I think it's good he's taken the reigns. Now tank on and get best of both worlds. A gamble indeed, but one I think worth taking.
  19. I understand the prideful sentiment I guess yes. Although losing on purpose is different from losing. And in typing that sentence, I realize my error and apologize for the leading question (considering tank intends purpose). What I really wondered is if there were people honestly disappointed with a loss with 20 games left. But I understand if this has been beaten to death. I think we can agree that almost an entire year of this can make a fanbase act in peculiar ways.
  20. Was truly curious. No insults from me. Just an exploration of psyche.
  21. Is there still an anti-tank on board? Would you explain yourself??
  22. Corey Crawford of the Blackhawks? He's their franchise goalie. And I wouldn't feel comfortable with Dubnyk or Halak in the playoffs. You can't react to things only once they are an issue. You need some sort of plan. Proactive, not reactive. If we get McEichel next year plus free agents, we could very well make the playoffs. I'm not saying it's likely, but there is a possibility. TM has high opinion of talent that was selected in the first round. He obviously felt Neuv could develop into a quality tender if his mental game matured. Maybe TM bet on the right time in the kids development. I guess the broader question is: does the benefit of additional negotiating time with a guy who might be the goalie for this turnaround outweigh a possible tank killer?
  23. Anybody else starting to think that keeping Neuvirth might be the move? Obviously he is the only thing keeping this tank from finishing strong. And the tank should remain the number one priority. But we also need a backstop moving forward, and he is really starting to look like a NHL goaltender. Maybe his handling this year, the confidence instilled by Murray, and the realization now that he's a true number 1, has honed his mental game. He's always had the physical tools. Similar arc to his ex teammate Varlamov. I know he's a FA, but there is an advantage to having a window of contract negotiations for the remainder of the year.
