  1. Such a good site. I think it's safe to say we can't have Mouls and Gionta on the same line.
  2. Executed well from puck drop to empty netter. Can't remember seeing a team with the skill of TB have so much trouble getting out of their own end. Forecheck and defensive zone structure was top notch. Again, Eich's coming out party. These guys continue to gush into the aftergame show. "Mario Lemieux-type stuff". So nice to have a shiny little object in Buffalo. I thought one of Reinhart's strongest games as well. Literally. First time I've seen him shield the forecheck to buy time for zone clearance like that. And his awareness was on display also. A lotttttt of hate on Gionta on here. I like the guy on the ice in key situations more than Mouls. His game continues to regress. Hey this is fun!
  3. I'm sure it's been said but: Eichel's introduction to the country. These guys are gushing over his incredibly strong performance on national TV. Reinhart showing off some of his strength on the puck too!
  4. Think Larsson was one of the better players on the ice tonight, and they were the only line in the first two periods to provide some pressure. Think it's mostly on Eich, overthinking things, holding onto the puck a bit too long. Don't think Mouls is the answer but just my opinion. How nice is it to have a dominant faceoff man to close out games? ROR won at least 3 in the last two minutes. That is huge.
  5. Sure but are guys like Gallagher, Garbutt, Maroon, Dupuis, Eakin, etc? All top 6 guys on top teams. Some very successful teams' approach is balance, and we're getting closer to being afforded the depth to follow that lead. All I'm saying.
  6. Deslauriers - O'Reilly - Ennis Reinhart - Eichel - Larsson Kane - Girgensons- Foligno Gionta - Legwand - McGinn PP Kane - O'Reilly - Ennis Eichel - Risto/Bogo/Franson Deslauriers not enough talent for the cycle game of Ennis/ROR or perfect dirty area presence to complement the two? Kane talent wasted on 3 or electric but individual game ideally matched with two guys who put their heads down and get to the net? Can Eich and Sam (and Larsson for that matter) continue to build chemistry and be enough to maintain Jack's influence on a game? Will Disco Dan put out such a dangerous PP or continue to lean towards an even two units? Hey, I know this is coming off a 3 game run with 129 total shots, but these are great questions to get to ask after years of despair!
  7. Completely on page with this. We are looking more and more like a team who should be at least a bit active. We've outshot our opponents in each of the last 7 games by an average of 10 shots. My first reaction to Huck's trade was hell no, but no doubt it is an intriguing scenario. Also, all this winning lottery talk is triggering some dark depression. Please let us enjoy some hard fought and controlling play before delving our psyche back to 2014.
  8. ROR worth every penny. Possession is so valuable.
  9. I was hyper critical of Sam's NHL readiness heading into the season but he has improved significantly each game. What a treat to see him and Yeichel building some chemistry out there. Although Eich has the tendency to be lackadaisical with the puck, especially so tonight. One of Risto's best games so far. And Grigs, Mouls and Gionta are a solid #3.
  10. Reinhart playing at full confidence. Getting better by the night. Also, Ennis thinking too much out there.
  11. Agree on the splitting of Evander and Eich. Would love to see Jack play with someone with a bit more feel to their game. DB shaking up the lines at the end. Spotted ROR with Gionta and Girgs. We may be at the snake bit point of breaking up our duos.
  12. Our PP has the potential to be dangerous but it looks like DB prefers two equal units. I hope he changes his mind about this. Mouls has no place on a top PP.
  13. The commonly flagged issue with Kane is exaggerated on the PP. Stupid shots are as bad as turnovers.
  14. Same. Let's judge the value of trades by one regular season game.
  15. People who overreacted to a guy coming off a concussion and getting his legs under him in preseason were panicking. Anybody who has seen this guy play at full confidence knows the talent he is. And he showed it tonight. Huge loss.
  16. O'Reilly is such a heady player. Will be a crowd favorite for sure.
  17. Appreciate it. Eich's backcheck will disrupt. Great example there on the PK.
  18. Hey sorry, could someone recap in a bit more detail the last two goals?
  19. Eichel - O'Reilly - Kane - Ennis on 4 on 3. Dear God this is entertainment.
  20. That acceleration to top speed glide is really unlike anything I've seen. Stupid grin here and a loud laugh at the office!
  21. I don't see Sam flanked by two of the smaller guys on the roster.
  22. Samson gliding and getting lost in the play. I know its not his game but gives no effort in the corners. Not so sure his spot is guaranteed.
