  1.

I think you missed the point. The dog can ###### in his own yard, my brother has kids that use that front yard area, sit in the grass and play and so on.

Well, my point was that it was a really dumb thing to say. But anyways, what does he about all the wild animals (squirrels, rabbits, birds, etc) that ###### in his yard? And no ones following behind them to clean up after them either. Must be rough on him.

Just waived at my neighbor as my dog was shitting on his lawn.

    Zero f#cks given.

Pretty friendly guy. That was a fine gesture.

  2. This is it ladies and gentlemen. This camp a big deal. This is the crucible where it starts.

There will be so many good prospects in camp Monday that the critical mass is there to create an environment where talented prospects will be forced to compete and compete hard to earn their place in the pecking order.

Zemgus will be setting the standard for talented grit guys like Compher and Baptiste to match.

If Brendan Lemieux wants to be an NHL power forward any time soon he is going to have to be better than Carrier or Fasching.

Who is the guy who will be in the wheelhouse on offence: Samson or Mikhail? Joel Armia, you are being chased by Justin Bailey.

Nikita, Jake, Mark and Rasmus? There's only room for two of you right now.

Nobody has earned the label goalie of the future yet. Which one of you is it going to be?

Cornel, Schaller, Kea, Catenacci, Samuels-Thomas, Gauthier, Florentino, etc., look at guys in front of you.

You want it, you better bring your lunch bucket.

This is one of the key components of the plan: bringing a bunch of young talent together at the same time, let them fight it out. Let them bond. Let the strong survive. I can't wait.

Anyone going to watch and post some reports?

This is a good write-up. Appreciate it. Makes me feel better about our future then just seeing a list of the invitees (which isn't that impressive in itself). I just wish we had a better hit percentage for our 1st rounders over the last few years.

  3. Islanders Blue/White scrimmage from the 2014 developement camp is availabe on their website. Ho-Sang has a good game but probably not ready to contribute this season. pretty sure Reinhart is going to step into their line-up though

We can trade them Myers for Reinhart plus their 2016 1st. In fact, as long as Snow's their GM, they should automatically give us their 1st 'cus we own him.

  4. Zero ###### given is "supposed" to mean "I don't care what you think of my actions - I'm being me" (not "I don't care about this particular thing").

They should be called tamp-ins. Who's with me?

Should we start a petition on Change.org?

  5. No ###### given? States botching executions of unremorseful criminals convicted of brutal murders. Like that guy in Oklahoma. Absolute zero ###### given.

My brother also doesn't do it and actually once told a guy on his street that did while his dog was shitting on his lawn how the ###### would he like it if he came down to his place, dropped his draws, layed a turd, then used a bag to pick it up.

If someone told me that, I would've told him to be my guest. I would've then filmed it and uploaded it to YouTube and said who's the ass now? No offense, but that was a really strange thing to say. Plus, last I checked dogs can't ###### in toilets and it's not like they're shitting on your front porch or walkway.

I often wonder if the famous composers and authors from the past are truly the "best", or just the most famous. Is Shakespeare a 16th century Stephen King or, well, Shakespeare? Mozart might have been Britney Spears or The Beatles.

I understand what you're saying there. Shakespeare is undoubtedly a literary genius, unquestionable. But there had to be tens of thousands of other authors from the same time period that were pretty damn good, but likely have been buried by the sands of time and the inability to mass produce books back then. 400 years from now, I don't think today's authors will have this problem.

    Anyway, so Sam Reinhart...

The thing to remember when listening to classical music is that we only hear the best... maybe 5% or 1% of the music written, and by the best composers. So we never hear the Baroque Era version of something like "Seasons in the Sun" or "Come on Eileen". That drivel of that era has been lost to history, thank God.

I certainly hope the denizens of 2300 don't view Miley Cyrus the same way we view Bach (who was considered a "rock star" back then).

  7. Or rolled the dice and won. He'll be 32 next year and wouldn't have been around long enough in Buffalo to be able to reap the benefits of the rebuild. Good for him - glad to see he landed on a good team for what appears to be a halfway decent salary given his production. In 29 games for the Blues he didn't score once. Given his style of play it's hard to believe high levels of production as he ages too.

True. You could look at it that way. I was mostly saying that because TM probably offered him more money than what he ended up getting from STL. And perhaps other teams did too and he held out.

Stafford had a good season in a contract year, got a big payoff, and has been inconsistent since. I fear Moulson will do the same. I didn't like the 5 year contract.

That's fine. He'll be great for the Tank then. And then he'll light it up in 5 years when McDavid & Rheinhart & co are gunning for the Cup.

  8. I find it hard to believe that Murray couldn't, or didn't offer him something better.

I'm pretty sure he did. But, it's likely Ott and his agent said "we'll keep looking" thinking the'd get a better offer elsewhere. GMTM then said "fine, suit yourself" and went on his FA shopping spree and effectively took Ott's original offer off the table. Ott rolled the dice and lost. Looks like the NHL didn't value his play that much either.

  9. To make it relevant, when a Commie Liberal who is "Gluten Intolerant" wants to go out to dinner and shows up in their Prius to order the kale salad, I will roll up in a Tahoe with the A/C cranking and all the windows open, then order a half dozen Hefenweiz to go with my breaded veal and loaded baked potato.

Don't forget to roll some coal on them.

  10. And there's the rub for tankers. Great enough to get some picks at the deadline but that defeats the tank because he will be helping us score goals and win games. Can't have it both ways. Throw some goals by Grigs and Samson and we may show some offense.

It won't matter. He'll be one player in a sea of incompetence. So, he scores 30 goals? That alone won't be enough to lift us out of the basement considering they'll be no Miller to keep us in games. Then we'll ship him out at the deadline, hopefully, and ensure the tank by dropping the rest of the remaining games. Don't forget, we had Vanek during the beginning of the season and were still in last place.

  11. 25% of the cap in 2 guys.

    And totally worth it.

I'll definitely be tuned-in to see how it works out for them over the next 5 years. Do their cap hits increase in as contract ages?

Edit: never mind. Front loaded. Good for all parties.

  12. You do realize that Crosby has won the cup right??? He also helps make his team contenderers each and every year! Can he do it alone? no, but the Penguins are MUCH better with him then without.

You do realize Crosby only has 1 Cup right??? I don't want just 1 cup, and I doubt TM does either. Point still remains, one "generational talent" doesn't equal consistent winning.

  13.

In a thread talking about NHL free agency? Yeah, creepy.

I'll be sure to remember that next time an off-topic conversation about normal human physiology and emotion happens to pop up. I know, we should be above that, right?

    Greg Wyshynski@wyshynski 1m

Ville Leino’s agent tells me he’s having “good talks” with multiple teams for the UFA.

Good talks as in the use of proper grammar and pronunciation I bet.

  14. I am saying it here too so it can sink in, The Arizona Coyotes are not in the midst of a tank. Their fan base (no jokes) wouldn't survive that process and we all know it. They have to make the playoffs every year.

The #1 and #2 overall picks in the 2015 NHL entry draft will not be traded for anything short of a kings ransom. Say we ended up with #4, to get to one you are talking #4, Girgensons, Myers, #10-15 (NYI), and one of Risto/Compher/Baptiste/Zadorov and that is just the opening of talks. You might have to toss Reinhart in there too. To go from 4 to 1 this season would cost us #4, #10-15(NYI), Myers, Girgensons, Reinhart and 1 other prospect at least... think about that for a bit.

If that's the type of collection of players that would need to be traded to get 1 or 2, if we had one of those picks I definitely would be open to trading it. If we have learned anything, a generational talent in itself doesn't guarantee a Cup. Sure, I would love to have an Ovechkin or Crosby on the Sabres, but they were sitting watching the Stanley Cup Finals on TV just like you and I. If we look at the Cup winners of the last 5 years, we see complete teams. It's the complete teams that are the recurrent winners.

  15. Well, a little different situation, but Lindros was considered a generational talent that was traded away, even considering Quebec's hands were tied. And we all know who got the better end of that deal. So, if we landed #1 or #2, I would expect TM would listen to offers. Like he said, the other GM might do something "crazy".

  16. I wonder If the players are aware that they are still "rebuilding" and that maybe they shouldn't go 100% or if they know I'd they stick out another bad year or so then good things will come

I doubt they're being told not to go 100%, but if they can't seem to grasp what's going on here, they're dumb and I wouldn't want them leading our young players. That said, I expect them to give a good effort nightly, but above all, lead by example, create a nurturing environment, and have fun.

And Ott's wife is hot. If I were him, I wouldn't have even notice FA started.

  17. I can't believe I missed so much over the last two weeks, I was in very remote parts and only had wifi for short bursts, I have to say I'm Surprised about everything that went down, was not expecting to see the sabres dismantle the Habs, I was expecting Moulson and/or Ott to come back. I don't think we're gonna be as bad as some people think this season, I don't think playoffs, but I think the team we may assemble could drop our draft stock significantly

I trust TM knows exactly what he's doing and that he did little more than rearrange the chairs on the Titanic. Should be more entertaining though.

  18.

High scoring centers need to be drafted. And we're well on that path. Crucify me, but Darcy was a genius to start this tear down.

No, Darcy is a tear down specialist. He certainly could build a team, but no one beats him in tearing them down. That Vanek trade is the stuff of legends. I even believe Darcy would've bagged a better haul than TM last trade deadline.
