It’s rare that the better player is the one suspended. And they could have independent medical staff check the status.

I think if you’re suspended for hurting a player in the playoffs that causes him to miss games, the suspension should last at least as long as the injured player is out for that series.

It will be Dell, that was a team loss. Unfortunately Samuelsson and Mersch will likely not play. The hits on Mersch and Crosby in the NHL show that in the playoffs a short term suspension is worth the benefit of taking out a key player.

The Comets name comes from the old Clinton Comets of the Eastern Hockey League (the league Slapshot was based on) from the 1950’s through 70’s. They played at the Clinton Arena, a small hockey barn from the 1930’s which is still in use after getting upgrades from winning the Kraft Hockeytown contest. Clinton is a suburb 14 minutes outside Utica, so when NJ moved the Utica Devils to Binghamton, Vancouver moved in and they were renamed the Comets as a homage. When NJ moved back they just switched colors but kept the name.

Laval takes advantage of sloppy turnover behind Crunch net and win the series in OT. 🙄

Laval tied their game with Syracuse with 9 seconds left, 2-2. Game 5 going to OT.

Peterka and Krebs are out together.

Attendance 8,791. Not good losing Fitz for 5 minutes. They should put Samuelsson out for game 5 even if he’s on a sled.

May as well put Houser in and rest Dell for game 5.

Quinn has been useless in the playoffs. I wish someone took out Greer like they did to Mersch.

Utica wants it more.

Amerks do better when they’re playing with speed instead of slowly moving up ice.

I think this is a must win game. Can’t go back to Utica.

I’m rooting for Tampa for a three-peat but would be ok with Florida, reluctantly Carolina despite their dumb post game routines because Rangers fans are arrogant, Calgary because I can’t stand that Edmonton got McDavid instead of Buffalo, and Colorado because I want to make sure a Canadian team doesn’t make the finals.
