I remember hearing yesterday how much this was going to work to our advantage with our fourth line.

I didn’t make yesterdays, but typically they go about as well as any other Sabres game when I do. So, poorly.

Your last place Buffalo Sabres take on first place New Jersey Devils. Buffalo came out flat and uninspiring yesterday on the first half of a season opening back to back. The team will need to pick up the pace of play and attack much more aggressively than what we saw yesterday. Fancy stats will say we outplayed Jersey, but anyone with eyes can see that wasn’t the game they were watching. NAK was injured yesterday so expect at least some changes to the lineup. Go Sabres. Right the ship.

This will likely be poorly articulated, but I think there’s just too many players on the team who were too good for too long growing up and were never doubted. They don’t know how to play the kind of hockey you need to play when there’s a “deficiency” to their game. Listen to Benson talk about having to overcome his size year after year. We’re loaded with players with god given gifts who didn’t face doubt growing up. Now when they face adversity they wither. Maybe I’m wrong. Probably. But it’s what I’m going with.
