I doubt Eichel takes such a low road he slams us publicly, but privately? We've seen his personality before and it's not a good one.
If he has an off-putting personality why would anyone put stock in what he has to say publicly or privately?

This is good to hear if true. Eichel winning the cup isn't going to do us any favors, but if we can become a desirable spot to play again it'll be good for everyone. I probably sound like a fan here, but I think a strong team in Buffalo is good for the league.
How does Eichel factor in?

Panthers are currently playing poolside blackjack at Red Rock Casino Resort. They’re DOOMED.

Kyle has been a good soldier, a hard worker, the captain, occasional game-changer, and a major contributor to the vibes. At this point, however, on ice, he's standing in the way of players with greater future potential, and seems to be slowing down/has lost a step.
If he wants to play another year, what would you do if you were Kevin Adams?
Have to know when to move on from guys. That time is now for KO. Dahlin, Cozens, Tuch, Tage are all ready to step up and lead.

FWIW Darren Dreger mentioned on Sabres Live yesterday He spoke with Johnson’s Agent Pat Brisson on Wednesday Night and that RJ had not made a decision yet
I love Adams philosophy of wanting guys that want to be in Buffalo. Seems clear that Johnson is not passionate about the idea. So be it.

We could easily be in playoffs if you would have gotten a goalie its been two ***** years of this *****.
Instead you put all the hopes into a kid ( whos the future) but still .
Like we always say always ***** next year
Thoughts and prayers headed your way.

I hate to say it, but it just seems like one of those nights where nothing is going to work their way. It doesn’t seem like they have any finish and the puck luck has already been firmly against them.
Best not to watch.

As he should. He played well. First time I've watched him. It's encouraging so far. We will see what happens as the league builds its book on him.
Rangers second crack at him. How’d that work out for them?

Also — that Skinner OT winner is on his Sabres highlight reel IMHO. After pushing the action all night, he bursts through 2 defenders in the circle, takes possession cleanly with his skate, kicks it perfectly to his tape and then immediately beats the goalie top shelf to win Levi’s debut?
Freaking awesome.
Regarding Skinner - when he was traded here there was talk that he wasn’t a locker room favorite or coaches darling in Carolina. Either that talk was flat out wrong or he changed his ways. From an outside view everything he does and says is just fantastic. I don’t know that there is a Sabres player that I have liked more.

Paywall for TBN so this is all I saw. I won't editorialize, but this is the money quote IMHO.
'"Imagine if we can grow as much in the next two years as we've just grown in these two years. I don't think we're going to sweat anything that didn't happen yesterday. There's no reason to. And I'm actually excited. Everybody is trying to make moves and spending, spending, spending to do it, spending their future, because our future, we feel, is pretty darn bright and …"
It was Granato. Audio is out there somewhere.

You’ve got a really good point there about Quinn and Peterka in AHL in D+2 season
i could see that route for Kulich, he could start on AHL and be the first call up when needed
Not sure about Savoie; if he was eligible for the AHL then it’s a no-brainer that he starts there
I’ll guess that he starts the season with the Sabres and they figure it out from there Really don’t see the point of being in the WHL, except that there may be no other choice
One difference with Kulich is that this his second season playing in a men’s league. I predict he is VO replacement opening night this coming season.

Should I not be getting mine at a gas station?
The Charlie near the airport is better than the gas stations. I occasionally get from the gas station in East Aurora and find it not quite as good as the flagship.

Scoreboard around the NHL could not have been any worse tonight. Buffalo is falling out of it again.
By falling out of it do you mean still in it based on points percentage?

I think he blocked a shot late that ricocheted back down the iceRousek, Vinnie, or Kulich? Place your bets.

This would be for Granato to figure out at this point.
I can't remember who it was but several years ago there was a team that had a similar thing going and end of the season they made some home games road games by having them all in a local hotel and doing the rest of the "road" things teams do. Might be worth a try.
Part of the organizational message over Adams and Granato’s tenure has been about winning the fans back and being entertaining is part of that. I think consciously or subconsciously that has led the team to press and has contributed to the troubles on home ice.

Overtime win vs Minnesota. Insane action and the roof came off when VO smoked one with 15 seconds left.

I was watching the goalies a year prior to this draft like Brennan and Leinonen as much as possible because I knew we were going to take one high after the whole Portillo and Levi situation where they both returned to school. I believe I even said on draft day I hope they select Leinonen, he is a player who just eats up a bunch of net and the way he gets back to the other side of the net when he's out of position reminds me so much of Vasilevsky. I know he's struggling but most young goalies do at different points, I think this kid will be special.
Corey Pronman in The Athletic had him going late in the second round in his mock draft. I imagine Leinonen has got more upside than some want to credit him with.

He's got a .903% in the U20 and .858% in the Liiga. He ranks 17th in the U20 for sv%
Ok. I will put him in the same place many had Ullmark and UPL. He is already 19 after all.

Just checking in on Topias Leinonen... yup, about what I thought. Just not an intelligent pick in the 2nd round of 2022. Well at least the RHD that went after that aren't any good. - He said sarcastically after checking in on several.
Seriously though, it worries me a little that this pick was made still. It didn't make sense at the time and it isn't aging well. if it is a one-off, whoops our bad, type of thing than no big deal but I really want to know the thought process that ranked a sub-par goalie that high on their draft board. Call it curiosity.
disclaimer: goalies are voodoo so hopefully Leinonen proves my skepticism wrong.
Pronman mocked him to Seattle in the second round at pick 58 and many saw him as the best goalie prospect in the draft. Perhaps he’s got more potential than some think.

Carolina in back-to-back games this year - 6 wins and a shootout loss to Vancouver. Yikes.
