As you stated, Tennyson back to Amerks is the no brainer.  Hunwick would almost definitely clear waivers, so he should be next one down & IMHO sits in the Press Box until the have 9 healthy D & has to go down.  Definitely there with only 7 healthy.

After that, I'd put Scandella in street clothes until he has whatever issues were affecting his play prior to going on IR are cleared up.  Then when he's 100% sit either Beaulieu or Pilut depending upon the opponent.  IMHO, when all are healthy Nelson is 8 & Hunwickis 9.  I'd put Pilut as 6 (possibly 5 if Marco doesn't get his game back) with Beaulieu as 7 but could definitely see Housley having Beaulieu ahead of Pilut.  If Phil has Beaulieu clearly ahead of Pilut, then send him down to get playing time; but I doubt it is clear cut.

Real nice problem to have should they ever get fully healthy.  Tennyson was a regular last year & now he is, at best, their 10th D-man and should  Guhle or Borgen have anything to say about it possibly their 12th.

And that play is exhibit 1 (of about 100) why Reinhart should be with Eichel & Skinner rather than Pominville getting that role.

If (big if) Beaulieu continues to play like he did last night they won’t ever get him out of the lineup. He was flying and was one of the best players out there. The fact that he’s a willing participant when things get rough is an added plus.

Almost $4 million in cap space for a guy who is quite useful on the 4th line and $3 million in cap space for a guy who sucks worse than a waiver pick up isn't encouraging from my standpoint. Thompson may or may not develop and the pick is a gamble who may not contribute until Eichel's contract is nearly over. The Blues may stink right now, but they still got the better end of this trade. We took their dead wood and some futures for a really good player locked into good contract that Buffalo already paid the lion's share of.

Doesn’t all that speak to how badly they wanted to get rid of a guy that produced on the ice?

  3. In general, rookie quarterbacks are not very good. That’s not breaking news. In Allen’s case, he has demonstrated that he is like most rookie qbs but also an absolutely supreme athlete. I don’t think that’s debatable. I am of the thinking that a 22 year old kid with unbelievable athleticism and a cannon for an arm particularly one that is reported to work hard, is bright enough and has leadership qualities, has plenty of growth as a qb to come. The idea that someone of his age and attributes won’t improve seems out there to me.  I suspect some of those throws into people’s shins will find their way at least waist high next year and in years to follow. I’m excited to watch him this coming Sunday and with a few additions to the offense will be fired up to see what he brings next year.

It's almost like they aren't the best team in hockey.

Can we stop with the hokey GDT stuff. Reading titles like "The super most bestest pointy swords of the almighty King vs the naughty heathens from our dastardly rival city" is getting a little annoying.

No one will like this but the winning was bringing out the worst on some of y'all. The Sabres have a loooooooooong way to go to garner the type of cache many here we're bestowing upon them.

They're a good young team. Enjoy the ride but let's pump the brakes with the ideology that this team has made it to the promise Land or something. Lots of work to do. Good young players are on the way.

Don’t you just hate people getting excited about their team winning 10 straight after years of being awful? It’s the worst!

Almost forgot...Risto's hit on de la Rose behind the net with about 5 minutes left in the 3rd was fantastic.

All of a sudden sticks and legs and skates were flailing around with a loud smack as he hit the ice.

Love the physical side of Risto's game, which he has always had.

When Murray made the trade with Winnipeg he made mention that Kane and Bogo “are hard to play against”.  Risto - very hard to play against.

The metrics aren't bad on this team. Are they top-5 in the NHL good? No. But it's not like the tank team that fell backwards into 11/13 wins or whatever it was.

Anyway, I don't understand how people can, after this freaking win, choose to take pot shots at their pet complaints whether it's statistics or O'Reilly. But whatever.

    Because of one good game?

If you think it’s just one good game I guess you are part of that crowd. Carry on.
