  1. With a little puck luck tonight we're tied, at worst. Neither goalie has been impressive and we're a bad Miller turnover from even.
  2. OK -- my darthexercise is complete and I'm intermisshowered and ready. Now, to find a bevy and undo that workout! 13-5 in shots, highlights are looking good except the disappearing puck goal trick courtesy of Hagg.
  3. That's the danger of bringing in the JAG roster. And (once an inevitable injury or two occurs... it's why Risto and Zadorov were up full-time a year too soon. You can't send them back down when you've got Meszaros and Benoit). Just like our top AHLers should supplant Hinostroza/Caggiula now because of their skills, but it's the all around steadiness and consistency that they need first. However, if they're not rushed and are ready (whether to start next season, or middle of next season, or even the start of 2023 season), then it doesn't matter who they replace in the lineup.
  4. Curious thing: the Coyotes stole a point from us with Vejmelka's stellar NHL debut, but if we'd have gotten Hutton we'd have probably put up 5+ on our 30+ shots. Another point in looking at Coyotes numbers -- Chychrun is a good young player that they're treating like we did to Ristolainen. He's playing almost 25 minutes a night and likely in all the hardest matchups. He's already a -21. At this pace (doubtful because Wedgewood has settled down their goaltending) he'd be a beyond -100. Hutton only made it 3 games with his .741 save percentage.
  5. It is disappointing when you consider the team is 5-1-1 at home, plays with energy, it was a Friday night, and it was the only opportunity to see McDavid (barring a Cup Final matchup) in Buffalo all season... thanks, ownership!
  6. I wonder if any of the NYRangers watched our game.
  7. Bryson is quickly turning into an extremely dependable long-term NHL defenseman.
  8. huh... his tie has a piece of fabric just overlaid on it?
  9. Nice game. Sometimes you're going to be way outmatched in the skill department and need to skate and block shots.
  10. Way to be, Bryson! No matter who it is, you never take a penalty when you forget the puck and then just stand up the player.
  11. Ha! I liked Asplund fake-shot about 2 seconds after the puck had bounced away from him and was already exiting the zone.
  12. Skinner, drawing penalties. OK, gents, let's dig another well!
  13. We're going in, we're going in full throttle. That oughta keep those Oilers off our back. The rebounds will be there.
  14. This is a bold strategy. Tire them out by keeping them on the PP.
  15. So uncivilized undisciplined. Edit: Miller's penalty, not blasters.
  16. Make-ups are a thing. But that was also a legit hold.
  17. Yamamoto's going to garner a diving reputation with flops like that.
  18. Bjork Bjork Bjork! <flings sticks and pucks overhead and into the crowd (or netting)>
  19. I liked Bucci back in the nhl2nite days, I think. It was a long time ago. A long time. But he's spent too much time behind a SportsCenter desk now and is trying to announce the game like a string of highlights. It's not working.
  20. Yup. If Hagg-Pysyk were together, they'd be out against McDavid. But, I think it'll be an even blend of Hagg-Butcher and Dahlin-Pysyk against that line. Hey -- if Dahlin's ever going to learn to ignore the puck and stand up the guy (edit: on a rush) -- this is the player to learn against.
  21. ++: I've just learned a terrible truth. I think Chancellor Palpatine GM Sheevyn is the GM. Mace Windu: The G. M.? (Casting note: MW played by either AGM Sexton or ROC HC Taylor.) ++: Yes. The one we've been looking for. He knows the ways of The Concept (of Ehrhoff) aka The Process. He has been trained to use The Cap. I've also learned that this weird SW/BS headcanon I've been generating for the amusement of a Sabres message board through the utter deconstruction and rebuild of a franchise has provided a ton of content and SW/reality name and scene crossover. I mean... I basically have the entire cast at this point. It's alarming. I think with a couple months' effort (depending on real-life workload in Q4/Q1) I could probably write out the Sabres Wars prequel trilogy scripts showcasing the draft, rise, and fall of one Jackikin Eichwalker.
