I'm driving 8 hours tomorrow to spend a week in western NY. Not looking forward to the drive, am looking forward to seeing friends. The motivated person in me says find a ticket for the Vancouver game. The lazy person in me realizes that's not going to happen.

Not my kind of game, but I love the aesthetic.

Let's see... '99, up 2-0 on the Red Sox, lose series 2-3. '07, up 3-1 on the Red Sox, lose series 3-4. '16, up 3-1 on the Cubs, lose series 3-4. '17, up 2-0 on the Yankees, lose series 2-3. Anyone see the pattern? :( The only outlier to this pattern since '99 was '01, and even then it was almost the same story: up 2-1 and lost 2-3 to the Mariners.

Okay, can you two 1-loss teams go ahead and lose this week, pretty please?

All of my sports teams lost over the weekend. Thankfully, fantasy exists. The worst of my 3 teams scored 142.5.

No kidding. This offense stinks against a team missing their starting corners.

Indeed. From 80-89, the Yankees had the most wins in the league, with 854. Detroit, 839, and Kansas City, 826, were the next on the list. The Dodgers, the only team to win more than one World Series in that decade, was tied for 4th with 825 wins.

On the one hand, I love seeing the Tribe come back to win after being down 8-3. On the other hand, the Yankees got screwed on a HBP call that didn't touch the batter, which loaded the bases and allowed Francisco Lindor to hit a grand slam. Awesome and kinda sucky at the same time.

The announcer in the game a few minutes ago did say, however, that the top 3 AL pitchers by ERA, Kluber+Sale+Severino, have combined for 8 innings and 16? runs allowed this postseason. Yikes.

I don't know, Trevor Bauer tied the longest no-hitter attempt in Yankees history yesterday, going 5.1 innings before getting hit.

Kudos to the Yankees for getting to Kluber. Most earned runs allowed all season.

In a perfect world, both the Yankees and Red Sox would go disappear for a decade or two.
